China. Un mercado que Colombia debe potencializar con la Alianza del Pacífico

China is in a period of productive transformation and is moving towards high value-added industries as its main sources of production, parallel basing the economy on the domestic consumption of the country and reducing its dependence on exports of basic manufacturing. The current situation in the European Union (the largest trading partner of China) and the United States has outlined that the economic growth of the People's Republic of China until 2015 is projected between 8% and 9% (McKinsey 2012, Boston Consulting Group 2012) , growth reduced mainly by the decline in exports, the increase in labor and oil prices worldwide. Thus, the Chinese Government has chosen to focus much of the efforts of economic growth on domestic consumption, directed mainly by the growing middle class in the country and development in the interior and west of China. This represents countless commercial opportunities for food and product export economies with a certain degree of transformation, which in the case of member countries of the Pacific Alliance (except Colombia) are taking advantage of these trends and strengthening their presence in the market with the largest number of consumers worldwide. Peru, Chile and Mexico are already on a path traveled in commercial matters, the Pacific Alliance becomes a field of learning and potential takeoff for Colombia in taking advantage of the high demand of the Chinese market.China se encuentra en un período de transformación productiva y camina hacia las industrias de alto valor agregado como sus principales fuentes de producción, basando paralelamente la economía en el consumo interno del país y reduciendo su dependencia en las exportaciones de manufactura básica. La actual situación en la Unión Europea (mayor socio comercial de China) y de Estados Unidos, ha perfilado que el crecimiento económico de la República Popular China hasta 2015 se proyecte entre el 8% y 9% (McKinsey 2012, Boston Consulting Group 2012), crecimiento reducido principalmente por la baja en las exportaciones, el incremento de la mano de obra y los precios del petróleo a nivel mundial. Es así entonces, que el Gobierno Chino ha optado por enfocar gran parte de los esfuerzos del crecimiento económico en el consumo interno, direccionado principalmente por la clase media creciente que tiene el país y el desarrollo al interior y occidente de China. Esto representa infinidad de oportunidades comerciales para las economías exportadoras de alimentos y de productos con cierto grado de transformación, que en el caso de los países miembros de la Alianza del Pacífico (a excepción de Colombia) se encuentran aprovechando dichas tendencias y fortaleciendo su presencia en el mercado con mayor número de consumidores a nivel mundial. Perú, Chile y México ya llevan un camino recorrido en materia comercial, la Alianza del Pacífico se convierte en un campo de aprendizaje y de potencial despegue para Colombia en el aprovechamiento de la alta demanda del mercado chino

Regional Development: Reflexions and Alternatives

Este artículo plantea algunas reflexiones sobre desarrollo regional, con el fin de establecer estrategias que posibiliten la competitividad en los mercados internacionales. Es por ello que en la primera parte se abordan algunas teorías de desarrollo encaminadas a mejorar la calidad de vida de los integrantes de una sociedad. Conocimiento de las administraciones de los municipios del Valle de Aburrá sobre las asociaciones público privadas

Este trabajo de grado es una monografía que se centra en identificar el conocimiento que tienen las administraciones de los municipios del Valle de Aburrá sobre las asociaciones público privadas - APP - , como una alternativa para la ejecución de proyectos de obras públicas locales. Se realizó una revisión de la literatura considerada pertinente para la investigación sobre los siguientes aspectos: concepto, definición, origen de las APP, dinámica, tanto en Colombia, como en siete de los diez municipios del Valle de Aburrá, en Antioquia. Cada uno de los temas fue referenciado en forma general pero buscando una relación directa o indirecta con el tema en estudio, de forma que se pudieran comprender en forma clara y para poder correlacionarlos y alcanzar los objetivos que se establecieron. Gracias al análisis de los resultados, se puede observar cual es el conocimiento de los funcionarios públicos y las apreciaciones de los expertos en cada pregunta. Se realizaron ilustraciones gráficas y cuadros que permiten ver los aspectos más significativos, así se posibilita realizar las conclusiones. Esta monografía se plantea como un estudio que puede servir para realizar otros estudios relacionados con el tema, ya que las APP apenas llevan dos años de incursión formal en Colombia, y es conocido que han servido para desarrollar proyectos de infraestructura social y productiva en muchos países del mundo contribuyendo a mejorar la calidad de vida de sus habitantes.This degree work is a monograph that focuses on identifying the knowledge of the municipalities administrations of the Valle de Aburra about the public private partnership PPPs, which are an alternative for the implementation of local public works projects. A review of relevant literature was made about: concept, definition, origin of PPP, dynamics in Colombia and in seven of the ten municipalities of the Valle de Aburra in Antioquia. Each subject was referenced in general but looking for a direct or indirect relationship with the subject under study, so that it could understand clearly and to correlate them and achieve the goals set. A staff member associated with the projects a survey was made about twenty questions to know three basic aspects: general budget of the municipality, some features of the three most important local projects and specific knowledge and application of PPPs . in addition, local, national and foreign experts were interviewed about nine specific questions about the importance and risks of such associations, and then to relate the issues under study. By analyzing the results, you can see which is the knowledge of government officials and expert on each question, graphical illustrations and tables showing the most significant aspects were made. This will make it possible conclusions. This monograph is intended as a study that can be used to perform other related topic studies, the APP only have two years of formal uses in Colombia , and is known to have been used to develop projects of social and productive infrastructure in many countries of the world helping to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants

Mejorar aspectos del sistema de gestión de seguridad y salud en trabajo de la empresa Mincivil S.A. como medida de prevención de accidentes laborales

La empresa Mincivil a la cual se le realiza el trabajo de investigación se encuentra ubicada en el Municipio de Guadalupe Antioquia. Pertenece al sector de obras civiles. Esta empresa al estar totalmente inmersa en el sector construcción, presenta una cantidad de cifras que indican que es propensa a tener una gran cantidad de incidentes, accidentes y enfermedades laborales. La empresa Mincivil S.A siendo consciente del nivel de riesgo que presenta debido a sus actividades, donde los peligros a los que se exponen sus colaboradores son inminentes, ha sido disciplinada en su proceso de estudiar la manera de reducir al máximo esas posibles falencias que desencadenan en accidentes, y esto se hace con el fin de poder garantizar a esos colaboradores un espacio seguro para la realización de sus funciones laborales. Hemos decido brindar un apoyo a Mincivil en su proceso de mejora continua, con estrategias y recomendaciones que les ayude a reducir los porcentajes de accidentabilidad, incentivar y concientizar a los colaboradores directos de la obra y al resto del personal, sobre la importancia de implantar una fuerte cultura del autocuidado y orientarlos sobre las falencias que se encontraron por medio de la observación, el análisis de los resultados arrojados en las 36 encuestas realizadas a los colaboradores de la empresa, y el análisis de la entrevista al profesional encargado del Sistema de Gestión en Salud y Seguridad.The Mincivil company to which the research work is carried out is located in the Municipality of Guadalupe Antioquia. It belongs to the civil works sector. This company, being totally immersed in the construction sector, presents a number of figures that indicate that it is prone to having a large number of incidents, accidents, and occupational diseases. The company Mincivil S.A, being aware of the level of risk that it presents, due to its activities where the dangers to which its collaborators are exposed are imminent, has been disciplined in its process of studying the way to reduce to the maximum those possible shortcomings that trigger in accidents, and this is done in order to be able to guarantee its collaborators a safe space to carry out their work functions. We have decided to provide support to Mincivil in its process of continuous improvement, with strategies and recommendations that will help them reduce accident rates, encourage and make the direct collaborators of the work and the rest of the staff aware of the importance of implementing a strong culture of self-care and guide them on the shortcomings that were found through observation, analysis of the results obtained in the 36 surveys of the company's employees, and analysis of the interview with the professional in charge of the Management System in Health and security

Search for invisible decays of the Higgs boson produced via vector boson fusion in proton-proton collisions at s\sqrt{s} = 13 TeV

A search for invisible decays of the Higgs boson produced via vector boson fusion (VBF) has been performed with 101  fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collisions delivered by the LHC at $\sqrt{s}$ =13  TeV and collected by the CMS detector in 2017 and 2018. The sensitivity to the VBF production mechanism is enhanced by constructing two analysis categories, one based on missing transverse momentum and a second based on the properties of jets. In addition to control regions with Z and W boson candidate events, a highly populated control region, based on the production of a photon in association with jets, is used to constrain the dominant irreducible background from the invisible decay of a Z boson produced in association with jets. The results of this search are combined with all previous measurements in the VBF topology, based on data collected in 2012 (at $\sqrt{s}$ =8  TeV), 2015, and 2016, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 19.7, 2.3, and 36.3  fb$^{-1}$, respectively. The observed (expected) upper limit on the invisible branching fraction of the Higgs boson is found to be 0.18 (0.10) at the 95% confidence level, assuming the standard model production cross section. The results are also interpreted in the context of Higgs-portal models

Search for top squarks in the four-body decay mode with single lepton final states in proton-proton collisions at s \sqrt{s} = 13 TeV

A search for the pair production of the lightest supersymmetric partner of the top quark, the top squark (t∼1), is presented. The search targets the four-body decay of the t∼1, which is preferred when the mass difference between the top squark and the lightest supersymmetric particle is smaller than the mass of the W boson. This decay mode consists of a bottom quark, two other fermions, and the lightest neutralino (χ∼01), which is assumed to be the lightest supersymmetric particle. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC. Events are selected using the presence of a high-momentum jet, an electron or muon with low transverse momentum, and a significant missing transverse momentum. The signal is selected based on a multivariate approach that is optimized for the difference between m(t∼1) and m(χ∼01). The contribution from leading background processes is estimated from data. No significant excess is observed above the expectation from standard model processes. The results of this search exclude top squarks at 95% confidence level for masses up to 480 and 700 GeV for m(t∼1) − m(χ∼01) = 10 and 80 GeV, respectively
