Reusing Human Resources Management Standards for Employment Services
Employment Services (ESs) are becoming more and more important for Public Administrations where their social implications on sustainability, workforce mobility and equal opportunities play a fundamental strategic importance for any central or local Government. The EU SEEMP project aims at improving facilitate workers mobility in Europe. Ontologies are used to model descriptions of job offers and curricula; and for facilitating the process of exchanging job offer data and CV data between ES. In this paper we present the methodological approach we followed for reusing existing human resources management standards in the SEEMP project, in order to build a common “language” called Reference Ontology
Searching for galactic sources in the Swift GRB catalog
Since the early 1990s Gamma Ray Bursts have been accepted to be of
extra-galactic origin due to the isotropic distribution observed by BATSE and
the redshifts observed via absorption line spectroscopy. Nevertheless, upon
further examination at least one case turned out to be of galactic origin. This
particular event presented a Fast Rise, Exponential Decay (FRED) structure
which leads us to believe that other FRED sources might also be Galactic. This
study was set out to estimate the most probable degree of contamination by
galactic sources that certain samples of FREDs have. In order to quantify the
degree of anisotropy the average dipolar and quadripolar moments of each sample
of GRBs with respect to the galactic plane were calculated. This was then
compared to the probability distribution of simulated samples comprised of a
combination of isotropically generated sources and galactic sources. We observe
that the dipolar and quadripolar moments of the selected subsamples of FREDs
are found more than two standard deviations outside those of random
isotropically generated samples.The most probable degree of contamination by
galactic sources for the FRED GRBs of the Swift catalog detected until February
2011 that do not have a known redshift is about 21 out of 77 sources which is
roughly equal to 27%. Furthermore we observe, that by removing from this sample
those bursts that may have any type of indirect redshift indicator and multiple
peaks gives the most probable contamination increases up to 34% (17 out of 49
sources). It is probable that a high degree of contamination by galactic

Utilización del chapulixtle (Dodonae viscosa) en los procesos agrícolas de la comunidad de Progreso Hidalgo, Estado de México
Progreso Hidalgo es una comunidad ru ral ubicada en una zona de transición ecológica del Estado de México que se dis tingue por la amplia diversidad de paisajes que, de acuerdo a las condiciones fisiográficas, ambientales y ecológicas, presentan características que explican y favorecen la agrodiversidad y el manejo de los recursos naturales, principalmente de la vegetación silvestre, como es el caso de Dodonae viscosa. El uso de esta planta ha contribuido significativamente en la economía de las familias campesinas, ya que es utilizada en la elaboración de tutores para cultivos de riego con fines comerciales como tomate, zarzamora, chile y jitomate. Las condiciones ambientales, geográficas y ecológicas presentes en Progreso Hidalgo favorecen la existencia de Dodonae viscosa en las laderas, lomeríos y barrancas, y al mismo tiempo su utilización en la agricultura. En este artículo se muestra, mediante entrevistas aplicadas a 60 campesinos de la comunidad, la importancia de esta planta para la elaboración de diversas herramientas utilizadas en la vida diaria de sus pobladores
Decays Z' -> \gamma\gamma\gamma{} and Z -> \gamma\gamma\gamma{} in the minimal 331 model
The possibility of a significant effect of exotic particles on the
Z'->\gamma\gamma\gamma{} and Z->\gamma\gamma\gamma{} decays is investigated in
the context of the minimal 331 model. This model, which is based in the
SU_C(3)xSU_L(3)xU_X(1) gauge group, predicts the existence of many exotic
charged particles that can significantly enhance the decay widths. It is found
that the standard model prediction for the Z->\gamma\gamma\gamma{} decay
remains essentially unchanged, as the new physics effects quickly decouples. On
the other hand, it is found that the contributions of the new exotic quarks and
gauge bosons predicted by this model lead to a branching fraction for the
Z'->\gamma\gamma\gamma{} decay of about 10^(-6), which is about three orders of
magnitude larger than that of the Z->\gamma\gamma\gamma{} decay.Comment: 20 pages and 20 figure

A network of ontology networks for building e-employment advanced systems
This paper presents the development of a network of ontology networks that enables data mediation between the Employment Services (ESs) participating in a semantic interoperability platform for the exchange of Curricula Vitae (CVs) and job offers in different languages. Such network is formed by (1) a set of local ontology networks that are language dependent, in which each network represents the local and particular view that each ES has of the employment market; and (2) a reference ontology network developed in English that represents a standardized and agreed upon terminology of the European employment market. In this network each local ontology network is aligned with the reference ontology network so that search queries, CVs, and job offers can be mediated through these alignments from any ES. The development of the ontologies has followed the methodological guidelines issued by the NeOn Methodology and is focused mainly on scenarios that involve reusing and re-engineering knowledge resources already agreed upon by employment experts and standardization bodies. This paper explains how these methodological guidelines have been applied for building e-employment ontologies. In addition, it shows that the approach to building ontologies by reusing and re-engineering agreed upon non-ontological resources speeds the ontology development, reduces development costs, and retrieves knowledge already agreed upon by a community of people in a more formal representation
