MR- arthrography: anatomic variant from link between lateral meniscus and anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments. A case report and review of the literature
Menisci congenital anomalies are rare morphologic abnormalities including accessory meniscus, discoid meniscus, double-layered meniscus, hypoplastic meniscus and ring-shaped meniscus (RSM). In a 35 year-old male patient, MR arthrography showed a bridging accessory bundle connecting the anterior cruciate ligament and posterior cruciate ligament with the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus. Arthroscopic examination showed a fan-like obstacle embracing the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus. It would be important to correctly identify this anatomical variant, because the bundle connecting the external meniscus to the ligaments of the central pivot can be misinterpreted as a meniscal fragment

Wild ungulates as sentinels of flaviviruses and tick-borne zoonotic pathogen circulation: an Italian perspective
Background: Vector-borne zoonotic diseases are a concerning issue in Europe. Lyme disease and tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) have been reported in several countries with a large impact on public health; other emerging pathogens, such as Rickettsiales, and mosquito-borne flaviviruses have been increasingly reported. All these pathogens are linked to wild ungulates playing roles as tick feeders, spreaders, and sentinels for pathogen circulation. This study evaluated the prevalence of TBEV, Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato, Rickettsia spp., Ehrlichia spp., and Coxiella spp. by biomolecular screening of blood samples and ticks collected from wild ungulates. Ungulates were also screened by ELISA and virus neutralization tests for flaviviral antibody detection. Results: A total of 274 blood samples were collected from several wild ungulate species, as well as 406 Ixodes ricinus, which were feeding on them. Blood samples tested positive for B. burgdorferi s.l. (1.1%; 0-2.3%) and Rickettsia spp. (1.1%; 0-2.3%) and showed an overall flaviviral seroprevalence of 30.6% (22.1-39.2%): 26.1% (17.9-34.3%) for TBEV, 3.6% (0.1-7.1%) for Usutu virus and 0.9% (0-2.7%) for West Nile virus. Ticks were pooled when possible and yielded 331 tick samples that tested positive for B. burgdorferi s.l. (8.8%; 5.8-11.8%), Rickettsia spp. (26.6%; 21.8-31.2%) and Neoehrlichia mikurensis (1.2%; 0-2.4%). TBEV and Coxiella spp. were not detected in either blood or tick samples. Conclusions: This research highlighted a high prevalence of several tick-borne zoonotic pathogens and high seroprevalence for flaviviruses in both hilly and alpine areas. For the first time, an alpine chamois tested positive for anti-TBEV antibodies. Ungulate species are of particular interest due to their sentinel role in flavivirus circulation and their indirect role in tick-borne diseases and maintenance as Ixodes feeders and spreaders
Efficacy of Teduglutide for Parenteral Support Reduction in Patients with Short Bowel Syndrome: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Teduglutide has been described as an effective treatment for parenteral support (PS) reduction in patients with short bowel syndrome (SBS). However, a quantitative summary of the available evidence is still lacking. PubMed/Medline, EMBASE, Cochrane library, OVID, and CINAHL databases were systematically searched up to July 2021 for studies reporting the rate of response (defined as a â„20% reduction in PS) to teduglutide among PS-dependent adult patients. The rate of weaning (defined as the achievement of PS independence) was also evaluated as a secondary end-point. Ten studies were finally considered in the meta-analysis. Pooled data show a response rate of 64% at 6 months, 77% at 1 year and, 82% at â„2 years; on the other hand, the weaning rate could be estimated as 11% at 6 months, 17% at 1 year, and 21% at â„2 years. The presence of colon in continuity reduced the response rate (â17%, 95%CI: (â31%, â3%)), but was associated with a higher weaning rate (+16%, 95%CI: (+6%, +25%)). SBS etiology, on the contrary, was not found to be a significant predictor of these outcomes, although a nonsignificant trend towards both higher response rates (+9%, 95%CI: (â8%, +27%)) and higher weaning rates (+7%, 95%CI: (â14%, +28%)) could be observed in patients with Crohnâs disease. This was the first meta-analysis that specifically assessed the efficacy of teduglutide in adult patients with SBS. Our results provide pooled estimates of response and weaning rates over time and identify intestinal anatomy as a significant predictor of these outcomes
Evaluation of the Performance of ACR TI-RADS Also Considering Those Nodules with No Indication of FNAC: A Single-Center Experience
Background: Several US risk stratification score systems (RSSs) have been developed to standardize a thyroid nodule risk of malignancy. It is still a matter of debate which RSS is the most reliable. The purpose of this study is to evaluate: (1) the concordance between the American College of Radiology TI-RADS (ACR TI-RADS) and fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC), (2) the cancer rate in the ACR TI-RADS categories, (3) the characteristics of nodules evaluated by FNAC even if not formally indicated according to ACR TI-RADS ('not indicated FNACs"). Methods: From January 2021 to September 2022, patients attending the Endocrinology Unit of the CTO Hospital of Rome for evaluation of thyroid nodules were included. Results: 830 nodules had negative cytology, belonging to TIR2 and TIR1C. One hundred and thirteen nodules were determined to be suspicious for or consistent with malignancy belonging to TIR3B/TIR4/TIR5. Of this last group, 94% were classified as TR4/TR5 nodules. In total, 87/113 underwent surgery. Among these, 73 had histologically proven cancer, 14 turned out to be benign. "Not indicated FNACs" was 623. Among these, 42 cancers were present. Conclusions: This study confirmed the diagnostic power of ACR TI-RADS. In addition, these data suggest revising the ACR TI-RADS indication to FNAC, especially for TR4
Neural network parametrization of the lepton energy spectrum in semileptonic B meson decays
We construct a parametrization of the lepton energy spectrum in inclusive
semileptonic decays of B mesons, based on the available experimental
information: moments of the spectrum with cuts, their errors and their
correlations, together with kinematical constraints. The result is obtained in
the form of a Monte Carlo sample of neural networks trained on replicas of the
experimental data, which represents the probability density in the space of
lepton energy spectra. This parametrization is then used to extract the b quark
mass m_b^{1S} in a way that theoretical uncertainties are minimized, for which
the value m_b^{1S}=4.84 \pm 0.14^{exp}\pm 0.05^{th} GeV is obtained.Comment: 32 pages, 22 figures, JHEP3 class. v4 version accepted for

A simple inert model solves the little hierarchy problem and provides a dark matter candidate
We discuss a minimal extension to the standard model in which two singlet
scalar states that only interacts with the Higgs boson is added. Their masses
and interaction strengths are fixed by the two requirements of canceling the
one-loop quadratic corrections to the Higgs boson mass and providing a viable
dark matter candidate. Direct detection of the lightest of these new states in
nuclear scattering experiments is possible with a cross section within reach of

Double Parton Scattering Singularity in One-Loop Integrals
We present a detailed study of the double parton scattering (DPS)
singularity, which is a specific type of Landau singularity that can occur in
certain one-loop graphs in theories with massless particles. A simple formula
for the DPS singular part of a four-point diagram with arbitrary
internal/external particles is derived in terms of the transverse momentum
integral of a product of light cone wavefunctions with tree-level matrix
elements. This is used to reproduce and explain some results for DPS
singularities in box integrals that have been obtained using traditional loop
integration techniques. The formula can be straightforwardly generalised to
calculate the DPS singularity in loops with an arbitrary number of external
particles. We use the generalised version to explain why the specific MHV and
NMHV six-photon amplitudes often studied by the NLO multileg community are not
divergent at the DPS singular point, and point out that whilst all NMHV
amplitudes are always finite, certain MHV amplitudes do contain a DPS
divergence. It is shown that our framework for calculating DPS divergences in
loop diagrams is entirely consistent with the `two-parton GPD' framework of
Diehl and Schafer for calculating proton-proton DPS cross sections, but is
inconsistent with the `double PDF' framework of Snigirev.Comment: 29 pages, 8 figures. Minor corrections and clarifications added.

Non-adhesive liquid embolic agents in extra-cranial district: State of the art and review of the literature
This review focuses on the use of ânewâ generation of non-adhesive liquid embolic agents (NALEA). In literature, non-adhesive liquid embolic agents have mainly been used in the cerebral district; however, multiple papers describing the use of NALEA in the extracranial district have been published recently and the aim of this review is to explore and analyze this field of application. There are a few NALEA liquids such as Onyx, Squid, and Phil currently available in the market, and they are used in the following applications: mainly arteriovenous malformations, endoleaks, visceral aneurysm or pseudoaneurysm, presurgical and hypervascular lesions embolization, and a niche of percutaneous approaches. These types of embolizing fluids can be used alone or in combination with other embolizing agents (such as coils or particles) so as to enhance its embolizing effect or improve its possible defects. The primary purpose of this paper is to evaluate the use of NALEAs, predominantly used alone, in elective embolization procedures. We did not attempt a meta-analysis due to the data heterogeneity, high number of case reports, and the lack of a consistent follow-up time period
