Les imatges preliminars dels evangelis de Cuixà

En aquest article s'estudien les imatges que ocupen els primers folis dels evangelis de Sant Miquel de Cuixà (Perpinyà, Bibliothèque Municipale, ms. 1), especialment la del foli 14v., representació de la Verge com a Església voltada de figures al·lusives als que la integren. Paral·lelament es ratifica la sovint qüestionada procedència del manuscrit de l'abadia benedictina de Sant Miquel de Cuixà, en base a paral·lels estilístics existents tant amb un altre manuscrit indubtablement cuixanenc com amb el repertori ornamental de l'escultura del monestir. Finalment, es proposa una lectura global d'aquestes imatges inicials del còdex en relació amb els focus principals de culte del temple de Cuixà: el desaparegut ciborium descrit a la carta sermó del monjo Garsies, l'església de la Trinitat i la cripta del Pessebre, dedicada a la Verge.Images on the first folios of the Gospels of Sant Miquel de Cuixà (Perpinyà, Bibliohèque Municipale, ms. 1) are studied here, particularly that on folio 14v., an image of the Virgin as the Church, surrounded by figures referring to those who make up the Church. In a parellel way, the often argued provenance of the manuscript from the benedictine abbey of Sant Miquel de Cuixà is ratified with regard to stylistic relationships eXIsting with another manuscript which indoubtedly belongs to Cuixà, and with the ornamental repertoire of some sculpture of the abbey. Lastly, a global reading of these first images in the Gospels is proposed in relation to the main cult focuses of the temple of Cuixà: the lost ciborium, the Trinity chapel and the Nativity crypt dedicated to the Virgin, all of them described in the letter sermon by the monk Garsias
