The goal of this paper is to propose a methodology to assess the services provided by companies that work with road transportation of dangerous goods. The scientific contribution is to fill the existing void in the literature by means of a methodology that brings together: the identification and analysis of the key stakeholders; multicriterial decision support; multivariate data analysis; and classification of the performance profiles of services. The proposed methodology is divided into the following steps: identifying and analyzing the main stakeholders; identifying the main desired requirements of a company that works with road transportation of dangerous goods; obtaining the weights of the desired requirements and of the aspects considered; and classifying the services provided by these companies. A hypothetical example allowed: identified the main actors; list the key attributes desirable in categories; get their weights; enumerate the alternatives for services rendered; define the Accident Risk Classes; and classify the services provided to contracting in optimistic and pessimistic scenarios.101151

Ensaio Sobre Os Nós Das Redes Logísticas

O objetivo deste ensaio é discutir, sob o prisma epistemológico e em alguns aspectos ontológicos, os nós das redes logísticas. Analisando-se a literatura técnica e a pratica relacionada a este tema nos últimos 70 anos percebe-se algumas mudanças de paradigmas na definição e na função destes nós. Nesta discussão são considerados três elementos indicativos de rupturas epistemológicas. Serão eles mudanças nos aspectos semióticos, nas relações causais e no contexto. Em termos semióticos, os pontos de término ou de início de um movimento de mercadorias e pessoas sempre foi objeto de estudo e de atenção dos acadêmicos e dos práticos da área de transportes e de logística. Diversas relações causais e modelos explicativos para entendimento e representação de operações logísticas tratam os nós das redes logísticas como componente essencial das cadeias de suprimentos e vem se alterando ao longo do tempo. Em termos de contexto duas são as grandes alterações que condicionam a logística e consequentemente os nós de suas redes. São elas: as diferentes eras econômicas e a alteração do objeto movimentado. O objetivo deste artigo é propor uma metodologia para avaliar e classificar os serviços prestados pelas empresas de transporte rodoviário de produtos perigosos quanto a risco de acidentes durante as operações de transporte. A proposta metodológica encontra-se dividida em cinco etapas: reconhecimento da necessidade do estabelecimento de marco regulatório; identificação e análise dos principais autores; identificação dos principais requisitos desejáveis de uma empresa de transporte rodoviário de produtos perigosos; obtenção dos pesos dos requisitos desejáveis e dos aspectos considerados; e classificação dos serviços prestados. Heart Rate Variability Monitoring during a Padel Match

Padel, an increasingly popular sport, presents some associated cardiovascular risks, which can be prevented by heart rate variability (HRV) monitoring. However, there is no study worldwide that characterizes HRV during padel games. Therefore, this study aims to monitor HRV responses and characterize them using linear and non-linear metrics at three timepoints: at baseline, during a game, and during recovery. Twenty-seven amateur participants had their HRV monitored before, during, and after a 90 min padel game. We extracted time, frequency, and non-linear measures with MATLAB for baseline, rest period, and at three periods of 5 min during the game. The differences in measures were assessed through an ANOVA. The autonomic modulation was affected by the padel match in amateur players. In this regard, the root mean square of successive differences between normal heartbeats (RMSsd), Poincaré plot (perpendicular standard deviation (SD1) and horizontal standard deviation (SD2)), sample entropy (SampEn), low frequencies (LF), and very low frequencies (VLF) were significantly reduced during the game, whereas alpha-2, high frequencies (HF), and the ratio between low and high frequencies (LF/HF) increased during the game. Furthermore, an abrupt change was found in the autonomic modulation between game and recovery assessments, which suggests the need to rethink the practices of cool-down protocols. The multiple timepoints analyzed during this study allow us to investigate the evolution of different HRV measures in the time, frequency, and non-linear domains, clarifying the interpretation of the variables, especially the less-investigated ones such as the non-linear measures

Supply chain integration in the industry 4.0 era: a systematic literature review: Integração da cadeia de suprimentos na era industrial 4.0: uma revisão sistemática da literatura

From an Industry 4.0 perspective, supply chain actors (suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and third-party logistics operators) are integrated into a collaborative network based on information-sharing to improve the overall supply chain performance. Real data can be captured and systematically processed into information, hence dealing with uncertainty. Poor integration may lead to supply chain disruptions. This paper examines the role of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) for integrating the supply chain, to which a systematic literature review (SLR) has been applied. First, according to the research questions, the I4.0 technologies adopted for supply chain integration were identified. Second, the approaches for integrating the supply chain at I4.0 were examined and classified by strategy (vertical, horizontal, and end-to-end integration). Third, the functional and cross-functional approaches for supply chain integration at I4.0 were also examined. Finally, it was discussed which traditional SCI approaches can be upgraded to the Industry 4.0 era and the future research directions

Process capability index Cpk for monitoring the thermal performance in the distribution of refrigerated products

The temperature of refrigerated products along the cold chain must be kept within pre-defined limits to ensure adequate safety levels and high product quality. Because temperature largely influences microbial activities, the continuous monitoring of the time-temperature history over the distribution process usually allows for the adequate control of the product quality along both short- and medium-distance distribution routes. Time-Temperature Indicators (TTI) are composed of temperature measurements taken at various time intervals and are used to feed analytic models that monitor the impacts of temperature on product quality. Process Capability Indices (PCI), however, are calculated using TTI series to evaluate whether the thermal characteristics of the process are within the specified range. In this application, a refrigerated food delivery route is investigated using a simulated annealing algorithm that considers alternative delivery schemes. Higher Education Teaching and Learning Support Areas Differences in England and Brazil: A Case Study / Áreas de Apoio ao Ensino e Aprendizagem no Ensino Superior Diferenças na Inglaterra e no Brasil: um estudo de caso

Teaching and Learning processes have been relevant in higher education institutions. There have been a wide range of skills provided by the universities teaching and learning support areas. This paper shows a comparative analysis of these areas from University of Bath and the State University of Campinas-Unicamp. To show the strengths and weaknesses of each university, this paper shows their ranking data used within The Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Data gathered from both universities websites show their support areas with specific skills. While the University of Bath has high scores in international outlook and citations, Unicamp has its strength in teaching, research, and industry income. Unicamp has more than the double of students. Similar teaching and learning support areas in both universities are shown. Most skills listed for the University of Bath are present in the State university of Campinas-Unicamp. Three support areas under the School of Civil Engineering from Unicamp are shown. Data from other league tables were not considered. These support areas exist to help academic and professional staff when teaching, and planning to teach, and students when learning to learn. It might be relevant to run some scales, questionnaires, surveys among the undergraduate and graduate students, concerning motivation, procrastination, learning strategies, learning styles, and feedback from them about their needs and solutions they believe could help. These might lead to reinforcement or upgrade of these teaching and learning support areas bringing a more appropriate range of skills needed by the students and staff

Evaluation of critical success factors through the use of mind map in the logistic process of a customs clearance commissioner in a brazilian company

The objective of this work is to present, by the means of Mind Map, the critical success factors of the project developed by a Customs Clearance Commissioner. The research methodology used is exploratory, through interviews, based on the Delphi technique to obtain consensus, combined with the exploratory-descriptive analysis of a case study. The case study was observed in an unsystematic way, with an unstructured questionnaire. The conclusions presented here reveal two critical success factors in the import of parts and pieces, that are compounds of machines and industrial equipment, showing that the Mind Map is an innovative application for managing logistics projects, enabling better visualization of critical points, which brings improvements in the planning of activities for areas of knowledge, applied to the deployment project developed by the Customs Clearance Commissioner

PLATAFORMAS LOGÍSTICAS: DIMENSÕES E ATRIBUTOS DA GOVERNANÇA

Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar as publicações acerca das dimensões e atributos utilizados na governança pública e identificar os aspectos que possam colaborar com a governança das plataformas logísticas, as quais são consideradas empreendimentos logísticos de grande porte que atendem a uma área ou região, onde se concentram atividades relacionadas a logística, distribuição de produtos, dentre outras, e contam com a presença de diversos atores. A metodologia de pesquisa utilizada classifica-se, quanto ao nível, como exploratória, e a estratégia de pesquisa utilizada foi a revisão bibliográfica. O método de pesquisa utilizado foi o qualitativo. Foram analisadas 53 publicações compostas por 103 autores, e como resultado desta pesquisa identificou-se um conjunto de dezoito dimensões compostas por 35 atributos de desempenho. Os atributos associados a governança pública apresentam aspectos relevantes e aplicáveis em plataformas logísticas e podem contribuir para a adequada gestão e condução deste tipo de empreendimento logístico
