N=2 Supermultiplet of Currents and Anomalous Transformations in Supersymmetric Gauge Theory
We examine some properties of supermultiplet consisting of the U(1)_{J}
current, extended supercurrents, energy-momentum tensor and the central charge
in N=2 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. The superconformal improvement
requires adding another supermultiplet beginning with the U(1)_{R} current. We
determine the anomalous (quantum mechanical) supersymmetry transformation
associated with the central charge and the energy-momentum tensor to one-loop
order.Comment: 8 pages, LaTe

Inverse scattering and solitons in affine Toda field theories II
New single soliton solutions to the affine Toda field theories are
constructed, exhibiting previously unobserved topological charges. This goes
some of the way in filling the weights of the fundamental representations, but
nevertheless holes in the representations remain. We use the group doublecross
product form of the inverse scattering method, and restrict ourselves to the
rank one solutions.Comment: 19 pages, latex, 12 fig

Kaolin protects olive fruits from Bactrocera oleae (Gmelin) infestations unaffecting olive oil quality
The efficacy of the processed kaolin “Surround WP” to control olive fruit fly, Bactrocera oleae Gmelin, field infestations was investigated in east Calabria. The preliminary results showed that fruit infestation levels were significantly reduced on kaolin-treated trees compared with untreated trees. The promising results of these experiments points to the feasibility of using particle film technology composed of a non-toxic material, to avoid olive fly damage as an alternative to the applications of rotenone in organic orchards. Finally, kaolin treatment unaffected the nutritional and sensory quality parameters of the corresponding virgin olive oils obtained by a laboratory scale olive mill, thus satisfying the present quality requirements
Short CommunicationsFruit selection in the olive thrush: the importance of colour
Free-living olive thrushes Turdus olivaceus were offered a choice of wild olive Olea africana fruit of four colours, representing four ripeness categories. The thrushes ate mostly black fruit (ripest), followed by maroon (ripe) and olivecoloured (partially ripe) fruit. When riper fruit was unavailable, the thrushes selected more maroon or olive-coloured fruit. Green fruit (unripe) were never eaten, even when these were the only ones available. When offered pieces of dyed pear Pyrus communis, the thrushes preferentially selected orange pieces, followed by red and black pieces. Green pieces were never eaten. The results indicated that olive thrushes selectedfruit on the basis of fruit colour, and that colour preferences differed between the two types of fruit offered.S. Afr. J. Zool1997, 32(1
Comment on the X(3915) nonstandard hadron candidate
I review the experimental evidence for the , the candidate
nonstandard meson associated with resonance-like peaks in
and near
~MeV, and address the conjecture that it can be
identified as the , the radial excitation of the
charmonium state. Since the partial decay width for is
at least an order-of-magnitude larger than that for ,
its assignment as the is dubious.Comment: 6 page, 5 figures, to appear in the proceedings of "e+e- Collisions
