    Mejoras en el diseño agronómico de la instalación de riego dirigidas al aumento de la productividad técnica y económica del agua en limonero temprano

    El objetivo del trabajo fue incrementar la productividad en limonero temprano mediante mejoras en el diseño agronómico de la red de riego. El ensayo se llevó a cabo en una parcela experimental en Torre Pacheco (Murcia), en árboles adultos de limonero ‘Fino 49’ injertados sobre Citrus macrophylla Wester. Se han evaluado dos diseños del sistema de riego: diseño convencional (2L), con dos tuberías portagoteros (6 goteros árbol-1); y un diseño con mayor superficie mojada (3L), con tres tuberías (9 goteros árbol-1). Partiendo de los resultados agronómicos, se ha realizado un análisis económico comparativo entre dos diseños del sistema de riego. El diseño 3L fue el más productivo técnica y económicamente. El Producto Bruto Económico (PBE) fue un 14% superior en el diseño 3L respecto al 2L; el Producto Bruto Técnico (PBT) lo fue en un 6,2%. Este resultado se debe a dos motivos: por un lado y en mayor medida, al incremento en la proporción de limón de primer corte del diseño 3L y, por otro lado, a la disminución de limón derivado a la industria. El Margen Bruto (MB) sigue la misma pauta que el Producto Bruto (PB), ya que los costes diferenciales (CD) son de poca envergadura. El precio ponderado del kg de limón medio (PBE/PBT) es de 0,367 € kg-1 y 0,341 € kg-1, en 3L y 2L, respectivamente, y supone un ingreso de 2.631 € extras por hectárea y año a favor del sistema 3L. Por último, resaltar que el diseño 3L destaca principalmente por ser es más productivo económicamente, en relación al agua aplicada (€ m-3)

    Aplicación de la oxifertirrigación para optimizar los recursos hídricos en cítricos, basado en la aplicación de peróxido de hidrógeno en el agua de riego

    En este trabajo se estudia la respuesta fisiológica y agronómica de la aplicación de la oxifertirrigación química, basada en la aplicación de peróxido de hidrógeno como fuente de oxígeno a nivel radicular en cítricos. El ensayo tuvo lugar durante dos campañas (2018-2019 y 2019-2020) en árboles adultos de mandarino híbrido ‘Ortanique’ ubicados en una parcela experimental del IMIDA en Torre Pacheco (Murcia). Se establecieron dos tratamientos, un tratamiento ‘Control’ (0 ppm de H2O2) y otro identificado como ‘OXI’ (50-100 ppm de H2O2 durante todo el ciclo de cultivo). Ambos tratamientos recibieron la misma cantidad de agua y de fertilizante. El H2O2 se aplicó de forma continua con una bomba dosificadora a la red de riego. Los resultados más destacados mostraron que el estado hídrico de los árboles del tratamiento ‘OXI’ fue muy similar al control. Respecto a los parámetros de intercambio gaseoso, la aplicación de H2O2 estimuló una mayor apertura estomática en el mes de septiembre de ambas campañas. Sin embargo, las ligeras alteraciones fisiológicas no han supuesto cambios sustanciales en la biometría de la planta. En la segunda campaña, la aplicación de H2O2 en el riego favoreció la acumulación de N, K y Fe en hoja, lo que permitiría reducir la dosis de fertilizante. La respuesta productiva y la eficiencia en el uso del agua no presentaron una clara mejora a la aplicación de H2O2 en el agua de riego. Los mayores niveles de N en el tratamiento ‘OXI’ afectaron negativamente a la calidad del fruto, reduciendo el porcentaje de zumo y aumentando el porcentaje de corteza. En cambio, la aplicación de H2O2 disminuyó el índice de madurez de la fruta, lo que resulta interesante de cara a retrasar la recolección en variedades tardías

    Tratamientos Psicológicos Empíricamente Apoyados Para Adultos: Una Revisión Selectiva [Evidence-Based Psychological Treatments for Adults: A Selective Review]

    Antecedentes: los tratamientos psicológicos han mostrado su efi cacia, efectividad y efi ciencia para el abordaje de los trastornos mentales; no obstante, considerando el conocimiento científi co generado en los últimos años, no se dispone de trabajos de actualización en español sobre cuáles son los tratamientos psicológicos con respaldo empírico. El objetivo fue realizar una revisión selectiva de los principales tratamientos psicológicos empíricamente apoyados para el abordaje de trastornos mentales en personas adultas. Método: se recogen niveles de evidencia y grados de recomendación en función de los criterios propuestos por el Sistema Nacional de Salud de España (en las Guías de Práctica Clínica) para diferentes trastornos psicológicos. Resultados: los resultados sugieren que los tratamientos psicológicos disponen de apoyo empírico para el abordaje de un amplio elenco de trastornos psicológicos. El grado de apoyo empírico oscila de bajo a alto en función del trastorno psicológico analizado. La revisión sugiere que ciertos campos de intervención necesitan una mayor investigación. Conclusiones: a partir de esta revisión selectiva, los profesionales de la psicología podrán disponer de información rigurosa y actualizada que les permita tomar decisiones informadas a la hora de implementar aquellos procedimientos psicoterapéuticos empíricamente fundamentados en función de las características de las personas que demandan ayuda. // Evidence-Based Psychological Treatments for Adults: A Selective Review. Background: Psychological treatments have shown their effi cacy, effectiveness, and effi ciency in dealing with mental disorders. However, considering the scientifi c knowledge generated in recent years, in the Spanish context, there are no updating studies about empirically supported psychological treatments. The main goal was to carry out a selective review of the main empirically supported psychological treatments for mental disorders in adults. Method: Levels of evidence and degrees of recommendation were collected based on the criteria proposed by the Spanish National Health System (Clinical Practice Guidelines) for different psychological disorders. Results: The results indicate that psychological treatments have empirical support for the approach to a wide range of psychological disorders. These levels of empirical evidence gathered range from low to high depending on the psychological disorder analysed. The review indicates the existence of certain fi elds of intervention that need further investigation. Conclusions: Based on this selective review, psychology professionals will be able to have rigorous, up-to-date information that allows them to make informed decisions when implementing empirically based psychotherapeutic procedures based on the characteristics of the people who require help

    Joint Analysis of Morphological Parameters and In Silico Haemodynamics of the Left Atrial Appendage for Thrombogenic Risk Assessment

    Background. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is considered the most common human arrhythmia. In nonvalvular AF, around 99% of thrombi are formed in the left atrial appendage (LAA). Nevertheless, there is not a consensus in the community about the relevant factors to stratify the AF population according to thrombogenic risk. Objective. To demonstrate the need for combining left atrial morphological and haemodynamics indices to improve the thrombogenic risk assessment in nonvalvular AF patients. Methods. A cohort of 71 nonvalvular AF patients was analysed. Statistical analysis, regression models, and random forests were used to analyse the differences between morphological and haemodynamics parameters, extracted from computational simulations built on 3D rotational angiography images, between patients with and without transient ischemic attack (TIA) or cerebrovascular accident (CVA). Results. The analysis showed that models composed of both morphological and haemodynamic factors were better predictors of TIA/CVA compared with models based on either morphological or haemodynamic factors separately. Maximum ostium diameter, length of the centreline, blood flow velocity within the LAA, oscillatory shear index, and time average wall shear stress parameters were found to be key risk factors for TIA/CVA prediction. In addition, TIA/CVA patients presented more flow stagnation within the LAA. Conclusion. Thrombus formation in the LAA is the result of multiple factors. Analyses based only on morphological or haemodynamic parameters are not precise enough to predict such a phenomenon, as demonstrated in our results; a better patient stratification can be obtained by jointly analysing morphological and haemodynamic features.publishedVersio

    In silico optimization of left a trial appendage occluder implantation using interactive and modeling tools

    According to clinical studies, around one third of patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) will suffer a stroke during their lifetime. Between 70 and 90% of these strokes are caused by thrombus formed in the left atrial appendage. In patients with contraindications to oral anticoagulants, a left atrial appendage occluder (LAAO) is often implanted to prevent blood flow entering in the LAA. A limited range of LAAO devices is available, with different designs and sizes. Together with the heterogeneity of LAA morphology, these factors make LAAO success dependent on clinician's experience. A sub-optimal LAAO implantation can generate thrombi outside the device, eventually leading to stroke if not treated. The aim of this study was to develop clinician-friendly tools based on biophysical models to optimize LAAO device therapies. A web-based 3D interactive virtual implantation platform, so-called VIDAA, was created to select the most appropriate LAAO configurations (type of device, size, landing zone) for a given patient-specific LAA morphology. An initial LAAO configuration is proposed in VIDAA, automatically computed from LAA shape features (centreline, diameters). The most promising LAAO settings and LAA geometries were exported from VIDAA to build volumetric meshes and run Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to assess blood flow patterns after implantation. Risk of thrombus formation was estimated from the simulated hemodynamics with an index combining information from blood flow velocity and complexity. The combination of the VIDAA platform with in silico indices allowed to identify the LAAO configurations associated to a lower risk of thrombus formation; device positioning was key to the creation of regions with turbulent flows after implantation. Our results demonstrate the potential for optimizing LAAO therapy settings during pre-implant planning based on modeling tools and contribute to reduce the risk of thrombus formation after treatment.This work was supported by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness under the Maria de Maeztu Units of Excellence Programme (MDM-2015-0502) and the Retos I+D Programme (DPI2015-71640-R)

    The microbiota of fermented dairy products contributes to the safety, flavor, and organoleptic qualities of the products. Moreover, metabolites obtained from the fermentation process enhance the milk nutritive value and digestibility, whereas dairy microorganisms could be the perfect carriers for reseeding the gut microbiota. The structural food matrix of fermented milk facilitates the delivery of viable microorganisms to the intestinal tract. Fermented dairy products may be beneficial to human health by improving lactose intolerance symptoms and for the production of bioactive compounds such as vitamins, gamma-amino butyric acid, exopolysaccharides, and bioactive peptides, among others. Also, fermented dairy products contribute to the modulation of the gut microbiota and the prevention of infections, inflammation, and cardiometabolic diseases.
