Cultural awareness is a basic knowledge that each individuality must has. In hotel industry, there are positive advantages that could be reached if a manager could appreciate a cultural, value, attitude differences of each person. This paper adjusts how important the understanding of cultural diversity and pragmatic implementation from several cross cultural communication theory, especially for managers in hotel industry. This paper also describes examples of cultural attitude and habits from some countries that could be refferences in workforce diversity

How Customers Choose Hotels

In the advancement of hospitality industry, thus it is important for hotel sales and marketing to understand the customer behavior in order to create effective marketing. Factors that influence customer behavior as individuality consist of personal and interpersonal factors. Personal factors include the needs, wants, motivation, perception, learning, personality, lifestyle, and self-concept. Meanwhile, interpersonal factors come from culture and sub-culture, group references, customers through stages before deciding to purchase. Begin with the awareness about the needs, customers then find information about the product or service that could be used to solve the problems. After having the information, customers select the best product and service before deciding to purchase. After purchasing, the last stage is evaluation of product and service, whether it is satisfying or not

Analisis Kesulitan Belajar Membaca Permulaan Siswa Kelas II pada Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Munawariyah Palembang

Kesulitan belajar membaca permulaan merupakan kesulitan belajar membaca pada anak tingkat sekolah dasar kelas II akhrinya terjadi pada siswa tertentu, oleh karena itu kesulitan belajar membaca permulaan lebih diperhatikan oleh guru bahasa Indonesia. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah kesulitan belajar membaca permulaan siswa kelas II.B pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesisa, dan faktor-fakor kesulitan belajar membaca permulaan siswa di kelas II.B pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Munawariyah Palembang, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesulitan belajar membaca permulaan siswa kelas II.B pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesisa dan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab kesulitan membaca permulaan siswa kelas II.B pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Munawariyah Palembang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif, informen penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas II.B. Ada pun alat pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini berupa observasi, wawancara  dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan data yang telah dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis dengan teknik analisis data deskriptif kualitatif yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan (verifikasi). Hasil penelitian ini adalah pertama, analisis kesulitan belajar membaca permulaan yang dialami siswa kelas II.B pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia adalah analisis kesulitan siswa mengeja huruf menjadi suku kata, analisis kesulitan siswa mengeja suku kata menjadi kata, dan analisis kesulitan siswa membedakan huruf b-d, p-q. Dan yang kedua faktor-fakor penyebab kesulitan belajar membaca permulaan siswa di kelas II.B pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Munawariyah Palembang yaitu yang pertama faktor dari peserta didik itu sendiri yaitu faktor fisik, inteligensi, minat, motivasi, yang kedua faktor dari guru yaitu pengelolaan kelas yang kurang efektif, dan yang ketiga faktor dari keluarga yaitu kurangnya dukungan kepada anak di rumah

Egodystonic Homosexuals In Heterosexual Marriages (A Study Of Christian Discourse)

Egodystonic type homosexuality is a condition where the individual has internal conflicts over his homosexual behavior. Therefore, not a few egodystonic homosexuals hide their sexual orientation by marrying the opposite sex, which we call heterosexual marriage. This study aims to analyze homosexuals engaged in heterosexual marriage, and the effect on their marital life. This study also analyzes the Christian view of homosexuals who are involved in heterosexual marriages. The result of this study is that humans were created as heterosexual beings, starting with the creation of Adam and Eve. The purpose of creating two sexes is to execute the reproductive function and for humans to not fall into sexual sin. In Christian’s view, it is stated that homosexual relationship is an abomination and forbidden. Marriage in Christianity is a sacred covenant before God. Homosexuals who engage in heterosexual marriages will have lots of conflicts, including having problems with themselves and their partners. Homosexuals in heterosexual marriage are recommended to take intensive consultation with marriage counselors, for marital happiness

Kesulitan Guru dalam Penerapan Pendekatan Saintifik Kurikulum 2013 Kasus pada Guru Sosiologi di SMA

This research aims to analyze the difficulty faced by teachers in applying scientific approach in the 2013 curriculum in the subject of sociology at senior high school Taruna Bumi Khatulistiwa Kubu Raya. The method used qualitative approach aith a descriptive method. The data collection technique used was the technique of direct communication through observation, interviews, and documention, with data collection tools such as observation guide, and interview guide. The research proved that sociology teachers at senior high school Taruna Bumi Khatulistiwa Kubu Raya experienced various difficulty in applying scientific approach in the 2013 curriculum. Based on the result of observation, interviews, and supported by documentation, the sociology teachers had difficulty in the aspects of (1) observing, (2) asking, (3) processing information, (4) reasoning, and (5) concluding and various steps of the scientific approach of the 2013 curriculum

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan guru dalam menerapan pendekatan saintifik kurikulum 2013 pada mata pelajaran sosiologi di SMA Taruna Bumi Khatulistiwa Kubu Raya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode desktiptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik komunikasi langsung melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, dengan alat pengumpulan data berupa panduan observasi, dan panduan wawancara. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa guru sosiologi di SMA Taruna Bumi Khatulistiwa mengalami berbagai kesulitan dalam menerapan pendekatan saintifik kurikulum 2013. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, wawancara, dan didukung dokumentasi yang telah peneliti analisis bahwa guru sosiologi mengalami kesulitan dalam aspek: (1) mengamati, (2) menanya, (3) mengolah informasi, (4) menalar, dan (5) menyimpulkan dari berbagai langkah-langkah pendekatan saintifik kurikulum 2013. Penyuluhan Kesehatan Tentang Pengetahuan Antibiotik di Kabupaten Padang Lawas Utara

Currently, Indonesian infections fall into the most prevalent category. Antibiotics are a type of medicine used to treat infections brought on by bacteria. Antibiotics are widely used throughout the entire population as one of the most common types of treatment. There are many situations where people using antibiotics run the risk of developing antibiotic resistance. Antibiotic resistance effects may result from more frequent use of antibacterial soap by health care providers. To achieve the desired level of public awareness and understanding on the use of antibiotics, education about the ethics of using antimicrobial agents is necessary. As a result, there isn't a widespread use of antibiotics among the general population, which helps to prevent the development of antibiotic resistance. Results from the preliminary test are as follows 45 people have the salah category number whereas 5 people have the true category number. This indicates that the general populace does not fully understand the benefits and proper methods for using antibacterial agents. About 47 people who took the test were positive, and 3 people were positive salah. It is possible to understand from this that efforts to promote preventive measures that are intended for the general populace can provide them with education that is both effective and simple to understand. By using the same presentation material, it is possible to infer that the intended audience is already familiar with the material being discussed.Infeksi di Indonesia saat ini masuk dalam kategori paling banyak. Antibiotik adalah obat yang digunakan untuk mengobati infeksi yang disebabkan oleh bakteri. Sebagai jenis pengobatan yang paling umum, antibiotik banyak digunakan di seluruh masyarakat. Ada banyak kasus di mana pengguna antibiotik berisiko mengalami resistensi antibiotik. Efek resistensi antibiotik dapat disebabkan oleh pemberian pengobatan antibakteri yang lebih sering oleh penyedia layanan kesehatan. Edukasi tentang etika penggunaan antimikroba diperlukan untuk mendapatkan tingkat kesadaran dan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap penggunaan antibiotik yang diinginkan. Jadi tidak ada penggunaan antibiotik yang berlebihan pada masyarakat umum, sehingga mencegah berkembangnya resistensi antibiotik. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pre-test adalah sebagai berikut 5 orang mendapat nilai kategori benar dan 45 orang mendapat nilai kategori salah. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat umum belum sepenuhnya memahami manfaat dan cara penggunaan bahan antibakteri yang tepat. Hasil posttest sebanyak 47 orang tersenyum benar dan 3 orang tersenyum salah. Hal ini dapat dipahami bahwa upaya untuk mempromosikan penyuluhan yang ditujukan kepada masyarakat umum dapat memberikan pendidikan yang baik dan mudah dipahami. Dengan berbedanya materi presentasi yang diperoleh, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa target populasi sudah mempunyai pemahaman terhadap materi yang dibicarakan

Does the travel career pattern model work for repeat tourists?

Tourism researchers and practitioners have an interest in understanding tourists’ travel patterns, and one of the most used models applied to reach this goal is the seminal Travel Career Pattern (TCP) model. However, repeat tourism is underexplored and in the present research, the authors provide an initial investigation of repeat tourists using the TCP model. Based on survey data from 500 international tourists in India the present research found that the TCP model is valuable for exploring repeat tourists’ travel patterns and motives. Within the TCP model results show that middle-level motives were found to be most important for tourists with more diverse travel experiences which include nature, self-development and self-actualization. Significant relationships were also found among the origin of tourists, their travel experiences and their motivational pattern
