Productivity of Ostriches Fed with Felucen P-2 Feed Supplement

This article presents the results of a study that examined the effect of Felucen P-2 feed supplement on the growth and development, blood parameters and quality of meat of black African ostriches. The experiment was conducted on two groups of ostriches: the first group received the main diet and the second group received Felucen P-2 added to the main diet. It was found that Felucen P-2 was an effective feed supplement which increased the rate of growth and development of young ostriches. For example, at the age of 90 days, ostriches of the first group had a live weight of 19.15 kg, and of the second group - 20.35 kg; at the age of 120 days, the birds of the first group had a live weight of 29.10 kg and of the second group - 32.05 kg; at the age of 150 days, the birds of the first group had a live weight of 40.35 kg and of the second group - 44.95 kg. In addition, from the age of 120 days, the significant live weight gain was observed. During this period, average daily gains were 332-453 g. The insignificant superiority of ostriches of the second group over the first one by the biological value and meat quality was determined. The ash content in ostriches of the second group was 1.1%, and in the first group it was 0.9%; the moisture content was 75.3 and 77.1, respectively; the protein content was 20.9% and 19.1%, respectively; and the fat content was 2.7% and 2.9%, respectively. Карбенові варіації деяких класичних реакцій

Carbene variations of a series of fundamental reactions, the features of their course in comparison with classical analogues have been first summarized and analyzed in the review. A number of carbene transformations described in the literature relates to classical name reactions being substantially their carbene variations acquiring the characteristics with the participation of carbenes. The attention in the review is drawn to such important analogies. Besides the carbene mechanism, they differ from the classical versions of the reactions because they mostly proceed under milder, sometimes considerably milder conditions. They always lead to specific products, the structure of which is conditioned by the nature of carbenes as ambiphilic reagents, and it affects certain stages and the final result of the reaction. In the above terms, such reactions are considered for the cases when carbenes are stoichiometrical components (carbene variations of Bodger, Michaelis-Arbuzov, Leuckart-Wallach reactions, Claisen condensation, Hoffman elimination), as well as for the cases when they are catalytic components (transesterification, Stetter reactions, benzoin condensation, nucleophilic aromatic substitution). At the present stage carbene variations of the classical reactions have become promising in the synthesis of some pharmaceutical substances, as well as in diesel fuel obtaining from vegetable oils. The review is intended to initiate further searches and deepening of such analogies.В обзоре впервые систематизированы и проанализированы карбеновые вариации ряда фундаментальных именных реакций, рассмотрены особенности их протекания по сравнению с классическими аналогами.Ряд карбеновых превращений, описанных в литературе, соответствует классическим именным реакциям, будучи по существу их карбеновыми вариациями, приобретая характерные черты с участием карбенов, и на таких важных аналогиях сделан акцент в обзоре. Кроме карбенового механизма они отличаются от классических вариантов реакций тем, что чаще всего протекают в более мягких, а иногда в значительно более мягких условиях, всегда приводят к специфическим продуктам, строение которых обусловливается природой карбенов как амбифильных реагентов, что сказывается на определенных этапах реакции и в конечном итоге приводит к соответствующему результату. В указанном выше плане такие реакции рассмотрены как в случаях, когда карбены выступают стехиометрической составляющей (карбеновые вариации реакций Боджера, Михаелиса-Арбузова, конденсации Кляйзена, Лейкарта-Валлаха, расщепления по Гофману), так и в тех случаях, когда они являются каталитической компонентой (реакции трансэтерификации, бензоиновой конденсации, конденсации Штеттера, нуклеофильного ароматического замещения). На современном этапе карбеновые вариации классических реакций уже становятся перспективными в синтезе некоторых фармацевтических субстанций, а также в получении дизельного топлива из растительных масел. Обзор призван инициировать дальнейшие поиски и углубление таких аналогий.В огляді вперше систематизовані та проаналізовані карбенові варіації ряду фундаментальних іменних реакцій, розглянуті особливості їх перебігу порівняно з класичними аналогами. Ряд карбенових перетворень, описаних у літературі, відповідає класичним іменним реакціям, будучи по суті їх карбеновими варіаціями та набуваючи характерних рис за участю карбенів, що і викликає великий інтерес. Крім карбенового механізму вони відрізняються від класичних варіантів реакцій тим, що найчастіше перебігають у лагідніших, а іноді й значно лагідніших умовах, завжди приводять до специфічних продуктів, будова яких зумовлюється природою карбенів як амбіфільних реагентів, що позначається на певних етапах реакції і в остаточному підсумку спричиняє відповідний результат. У зазначеному вище плані такі реакції розглянуті як у випадках, коли карбени є стехіометричною складовою (карбенові варіації реакцій Боджера, Міхаеліса-Арбузова, конденсації Кляйзена, Лейкарта-Валлаха, розщеплення за Гофманом), так і у випадках, коли вони виступають каталітичною компонентою (реакції трансетерифікації, бензоїнової конденсації, конденсації Штеттера, нуклеофільного ароматичного заміщення). У теперішній час карбенові варіації класичних реакцій вже стають перспективними в синтезі деяких фармацевтичних субстанцій, а також в одержанні дизельного палива з рослинних олій. Combustion and agglomeration of aluminized high-energy compositions

The results of combustion study for high-energy compositions (HECs) based on ammonium perchlorate (AP), butadiene rubber and ultrafine powder (UFP) aluminum Alex, and agglomeration of metal particles on the burning surface and composition of condensed combustion products (CCPs) are presented. It was found that partial replacement 2 wt. % of Alex by iron UFP in HEC increases the burning rate 1.3-1.4 times at the range of nitrogen pressure 2.0-7.5 MPa and reduces the mean diameter of CCPs particles d[43] from 37.4 [mu]m to 33.5 [mu]m at pressure [mu]4 MPa. Upon partial replacement 2 wt. % of Alex by boron UFP in HEC the recoil force of gasification products outflow from burning surface is increased by 9 % and the burning rate of HEC does not change in the above pressure range, while the mean diameter of CCPs particles is reduced to 32.6 [mu]m at p~4 MPa

Model of Centauro and strangelet production in heavy ion collisions

We discuss the phenomenological model of Centauro event production in relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions. This model makes quantitative predictions for kinematic observables, baryon number and mass of the Centauro fireball and its decay products. Centauros decay mainly to nucleons, strange hyperons and possibly strangelets. Simulations of Centauro events for the CASTOR detector in Pb-Pb collisions at LHC energies are performed.
