Patient safety is now recognized as a priority by health systems around the world, drug-related problem is one of the component for patient safety assessment. The objective of this study is to systematically review the occurrence and preventability of Adverse Drug Events in hospitalized patients. This study uses systematic review based on the Prisma Protocol. A search was conducted on electronic databases such as ProQuest, SpringerLink, and Scopus using relevant keywords. The relevant studies were further selected using inclusion and exclusion criteria. Three studies were included in this review, two of which were research study by group and one was a dissertation study. All studies were conducted in hospitals. From the three journals, it can be seen that the incidence of ADE occurs in nearly all hospitals studied and that drug-related problems are still a significant burden for healthcare facilities. Adverse Drug Events are relevant problems in hospitalized patients. The occurrence of ADE was confirmed in all studies and ADE less can be prevented by the use of CPOE. Keywords: adverse drugs events, medication-related problem, adverse drug reaction reporting system, hospitalized patient

Hypertension is a silent, invisible killer that rarely causes symptoms. This study was designed to determine the predominant risk factors of hypertension among prospective pilgrims in Medan, Indonesia during embarkation period 2016 that took time less than 24 hours. Study of possible risk factors for hypertension conduct in Medan,Indonesia during embarkation period using secondary data obtained from Integrated Computerized Hajj Health System. Secondary data collected from involved a total 6.597 prospective pilgrims as the eligible subject. The incidence of hypertension among prospective pilgrims in Medan, Indonesia (26.2%) is higher than its prevalence (25.8%) and in North Sumatera (24.7%). Chi-Square bivariate analysis with Odds Ratio resulted in the incidence of hypertension related to age, gender, education, work, diabetes mellitus, and overweight/obesity. Logistic regression analysis exhibited diabetes Mellitus disease (OR=1.918 [95% CI: 1.613-2.280] p=0.001) as the predominant risk factor of hypertension after being controlled by age, overweight/obesity, gender, education, and work. These results indicated that optimal strategy needed to reduce modifiable risk factors of hypertension by carrying out the medical examination for prospective pilgrims earlier than nowadays, e.g., 1-2 years before embarkation period since the results expected of behavior changes to prevention and control of hypertension. Health officer should pay more attention to those with age ≥60 and diabetes melitus to preventthe incidence of hypertension in Arab Saudi. Before the merging of health insurance schemes in 2014, Indonesia has two type of government health insurance programs based on its payment system. Jamkesmas applied diagnosis-related groups-based (DRG) payment system, while Askes and Jamsostek are much alike to fee-for-service (FFS) model. The different payment systems likely affect hospital behavior in delivering health services. One direct measure to address this issue is hospital length of stay (LOS). This paper focuses to examine the effect of Indonesia’s health insurance payment systems on hospital LOS using the Indonesia National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) 2012 dataset. Count data model is used to address endogeneity issue of health insurance. Our findings suggest that FFS insurance have strong effect to increase LOS, on the contrary, DRG insurance give strong effect to reduce LOS. This finding supports the idea that FFS encourages hospitals to apply more services, while DRG encourages hospitals to keep their costs low to avoid making loss. The Implications of National Health Insurance on District Public Hospitals Performance: Financial Analysis

    Get PDF
The 2014 implementation of National Health Insurance (NHI) in Indonesia transformed most hospital payment systems from fee-for-service into prospective payment systems based on Indonesian Case Base Groups (INA-CBG’s) Due to this change, hospital management groups should focus on integrated strategies to minimizecost, eliminate waste, and improve business process efficiency which referred to clinical pathways as the standard of professional services. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of NHI on financial performance and hospital base rate (HBR) of district public hospitals. In order to conduct financial analysis, this study utilizes financial reports from2012-2015 in two type C public hospitals in Sukabumi. From 2012-2015, there was an increase in both total and current assets, primarily in cash and cash equivalents, which increased significantly after NHI implementation in 2014. Liabilities also increased during this period. Hospital revenues increased while revenues from the regional government budget or “Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Daerah (APBD)” decreased following NHI implementation. Expenses increased also, but at a lower rate than other increases. Given financial ratios, overall hospital performance improved following NHI implementation. Keywords: NHI, financial performance, hospital base rate, district public hospital

Meristematic shoot tip culture to obtain good quality seedling of citrus (Citrus nobilis Var. Brastepu) free from citrus vein phloem degeneration (CVPD) is explained in this research. The method is conducted by using a diseased plant and is then propagated in optimum conditions. The research is conduted in Tissue Culture Laboratory Department of Biology, University of North Sumatra, Indonesia. Optimum conditions for citrus propagation have been obtained to produce good quality of Citrus seedlings that is free from CVPD. The analysis of the DNA using PCR method has confirmed that the seedlings are healthy and free from CVPD. Genomic analysis using 10 RAPD markers show the planlets regenerated from the cultures are 100% similar with the mother plant.
