    Revisão no gênero notícia on-line: aspectos verbais e não verbais

    A criação da internet modificou a maneira como interagimos, como nos conectamos e como acessamos conhecimento. Apesar de ser um ofício antigo, a Revisão de Textos vem se reinventando e está aglutinando as transformações que o mundo virtual trouxe àqueles que buscam e compartilham informações. Uma outra área afetada por essas modificações virtuais foi o Jornalismo, pois, atualmente, as notícias podem ser acessadas e produzidas de forma mais rápida devido à acessibilidade trazida pela web. Entretanto, essa agilidade pode fazer com que os textos sejam publicados com erros e inadequações. Cabe ressaltar que o texto da notícia na internet é caracteristicamente multimodal porque pode vir acompanhado por fotos, vídeos, áudio e de outros recursos semióticos não verbais. Observando esses aspectos, esta pesquisa teve como objetivo mostrar a necessidade de atuação do profissional da Revisão de Textos em notícias jornalísticas publicadas on-line e demonstrar que o revisor não é apenas um fiscal da língua e que a revisão de textos vai além da correção gramatical. Para isto, foram selecionadas três notícias do Portal Paracatu.net, sendo sugeridas adequações ao gênero notícia on-line, acrescida de uma revisão dos aspectos multimodais desse gênero. Observou-se que os textos estavam com problemas estruturais e de adequação ao gênero, demonstrando que o profissional da Revisão de Textos é necessário e, em sua atuação, precisa ir além do que a gramática prescreve

    Effects of Protein-Coated Nanofibers on Conformation of Gingival Fibroblast Spheroids: Potential Utility for Connective Tissue Regeneration

    Deep wounds in the gingiva caused bytrauma or surgery require a rapid and robust healing of connective tissues. Wepropose utilizing gas-brushed nanofibers coated with collagen and fibrin for that purpose. Our hypotheses are that protein-coated nanofibers will: (i) attract and mobilize cells in various spatial orientations, and (ii) regulate the expression levels ofspecific extracellular matrix (ECM)-associated proteins, determining the initial conformational nature ofdense and soft connective tissues. Gingival fibroblast monolayers and3D spheroids were cultured onECMsubstrate and covered with gas-blown poly-(DL-lactide-co-glycolide)(PLGA) nanofibers (uncoated/coated with collagen and fibrin). Cell attraction and rearrangement was followed byF-actin staining and confocal microscopy. Thicknesses ofthe cell layers, developed within the nanofibers, were quantified byImageJ software. The expression ofcollagen1α1 chain (Col1α1), fibronectin, and metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2) encoding genes was determined byquantitative reverse transcription analysis. Collagen- and fibrin- coated nanofibers induced cell migration toward fibers and supported cellular growth within the scaffolds. Both proteins affected the spatial rearrangement offibroblasts byfavoring packed cell clusters or intermittent cell spreading. These cell arrangements resembled the structural characteristic ofdense and soft connective tissues, respectively. Within three days ofincubation, fibroblast spheroids interacted with the fibers, and grew robustlybyincreasing their thickness compared to monolayers. While theECMkeycomponents, such as fibronectin andMMP2encoding genes, were expressed in both protein groups, Col1α1 was predominantlyexpressed in bundled fibroblasts grown on collagen fibers. This enhanced expression ofcollagen1 is typical for dense connective tissue. Based on results ofthis study, our gas-blown, collagen- and fibrin-coated PLGA nanofibers are viable candidates for engineering soft and dense connective tissues with the required structural characteristics and functions needed for wound healing applications. Rapid regeneration of these layers should enhance healing ofopen wounds in a harsh oral environment

    Influência da Precipitação da Fase ω na Dureza das Ligas Ti-10Mo-20Nb E Ti-12Mo-13Nb

    Ligas de Ti, do tipo β tem sido desenvolvidas para aplicação biomédica. As vantagens destas ligas incluem seu baixo módulo de elasticidade, boa compatibilidade mecânica e, além disso, as variáveis de processamento podem ser controladas para obter propriedades desejadas. As ligas de Ti-β, na condição metaestável, podem ser fortemente endurecidas por precipitação de fases após envelhecimento. Várias microestruturas podem ser obtidas por diferentes tratamentos de envelhecimento os quais influenciam várias propriedades das ligas Diante do contexto, o objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar a influência da precipitação da fase ω na dureza das ligas Ti-10Mo-20Nb e Ti-12Mo-13Nb. O material nas diferentes condições foi caracterizado por difração de raios X e medida de microdureza. Os resultados mostraram que a precipitação da fase ω durante o envelhecimento acarretou no aumento da dureza das ligas Ti-10Mo-20Nb e Ti-12Mo-13Nb.     Aethalometer measurements in a road tunnel: A step forward in the characterization of black carbon emissions from traffic

    [EN] A sampling campaign was conducted in the Liberdade Avenue tunnel (Braga, Portugal) during a week (with 56,000 vehicles) to monitor black carbon (eBC-equivalent black carbon) by means of an Aethalometer AE-31, and gaseous pollutants (CO2, CO, NOx). Inside the tunnel, the mean eBC mass concentration was 21 ± 10 μg m−3, reaching a maximum hourly value of 49.0 μg m−3. An hourly and weekday-weekend study was carried out. Regarding the Absorption Ångström exponent (AAE), a mean value of 0.97 ± 0.10 was obtained, for a source of practically pure traffic. There was a positive significant correlation between eBC and the number of light vehicles (r = 0.47; p < 0.001) and between eBC and the gaseous emissions: CO (r = 0.67; p < 0.001), CO2 (r = 0.71; p < 0.001), NO (r = 0.63; p < 0.001) and NO2 (r = 0.70; p < 0.001). The mean black carbon emission factors (EFBC) inside the tunnel were 0.31 ± 0.08 g (kg fuel)−1 and 0.11 ± 0.08 mg veh−1 km−1, similar to those found in other studies for gasoline and diesel vehicles in road tunnelsSIPortuguese Science Foundation through the project “Source apportionment of URBan Emissions of primary particulate matter”, PTDC/AAC-AMB/117956/2010 (URBE).     Characterization of aerosol sources in León (Spain) using Positive Matrix Factorization and weather types

    [EN] A one-year aerosol sampling campaign, between 2016 and 2017, was conducted in a suburban area of León city, Spain. An association between the Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF) results and air masses through circulation weather types was carried out, through the construction of linear models from the PM10 concentrations and its chemical composition. The aerosol sources, identified by PMF six-factor solution, were: traffic (29%), aged sea salt (26%), secondary aerosols (16%), dust (13%), marine aerosol (7%) and biomass burning (3%). Traffic and secondary factors showed the highest PM10 contribution in the hybrid cyclonic types with wind component from the first and second quadrant. Anticyclonic types with wind component from the first quadrant exhibited high values of secondary, aged sea salt and dust factors. The highest contributions of the dust factor were also associated with northerly types. The linear models built for estimating the source apportionment of PM10, from aerosol chemical composition and geostrophic flow, showed positive coefficients for: westerly flows (WF) in marine factor, southerly flows (SF) in secondary and traffic factors, and shear southerly vorticities (ZS) in dust factor. Negative dependences were observed for ZS in aged sea salt factor and for SF in dust factor. The PM10 mass concentration calculated by the linear models and by the PMF model were strongly correlated.     Unusual winter Saharan dust intrusions at Northwest Spain: Air quality, radiative and health impacts

    [EN] Saharan air masses can transport high amounts of mineral dust particles and biological material to the Iberian Peninsula. During winter, this kind of events is not very frequent and usually does not reach the northwest of the Peninsula. However, between 21 and 22 February 2016 and between 22 and 23 February 2017, two exceptional events were registered in León (Spain), which severely affected air quality. An integrative approach including: i) typical synoptic conditions; ii) aerosol chemical composition; iii) particle size distributions; iv) pollen concentration; v) aerosol optical depth (AOD); vi) radiative forcing and vii) estimation of the impact of aerosols in the respiratory tract, was carried out. In the global characterization of these events, the exceedance of the PM10 daily limit value, an increase in the coarse mode and a rise in the iron concentration were observed. On the 2016 event, an AOD and extinction-related Ångström exponent clearly characteristic of desert aerosol (1.1 and 0.05, respectively) were registered. Furthermore, pollen grains not typical of flowering plants in this period were identified. The chemical analysis of the aerosol from the 2017 event allowed us to confirm the presence of the main elements associated with mineral sources (aluminum, calcium, and silica concentrations). An increase in the SO42−, NO3− and Cl− concentrations during the Saharan dust intrusion was also noted. However, in this event, there was no presence of atypical pollen types. The estimated dust radiative forcing traduced a cooling effect for surface and atmosphere during both events, corroborated by trends of radiative flux measurements.     Impact of vacuum cleaning on indoor air quality

    [EN] Vacuum cleaning can be a household source of particulate matter (PM) both from the vacuum motor and from settled dust resuspension. Despite the evidence of this contribution to PM levels indoors, the effect of this source on PM composition is still unknown. In this study, four vacuum cleaners (washable filter bag less, wet, bagged and HEPA filter equipped robot) were tested for the emission rate of particulate mass and number. The detailed PM chemical characterisation included organic and elemental carbon, metals and organic speciation. PM10 emission rates from bagged vacuum operation were much higher (207 ± 99.0 μg min−1) compared with the ones obtained from wet (86.1 ± 16.9 μg min−1) and washable filter bag less vacuums (75.4 ± 7.89 μg min−1). Particle (8–322 nm) number emission rates ranged from 5.29 × 1011 (washable filter bag less vacuum) to 21.2 × 1011 (wet vacuum) particles min−1. Ratios of peak to background levels indicate that vacuuming can elevate the ultrafine particle number concentrations by a factor ranging from 4 to 61. No increase in PM mass or number concentrations was observed during the HEPA filter equipped vacuum operation. The increase in copper and elemental carbon PM10 contents during vacuuming suggested motor emissions. Organic compounds in PM10 included alkanes, PAHs, saccharides, phenolics, alcohols, acids, among others. However, it was not possible to establish a relationship between these compounds and vacuuming due to the vast array of possible household sources.     A multicenter study of biopsied oral and maxillofacial lesions in a Brazilian pediatric population

    <div><p>Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of oral and maxillofacial lesions among children from representative regions of Brazil. A retrospective descriptive study was conducted. Biopsy records comprising the period from 2000 to 2015 were obtained from the archives of three Brazilian oral pathology referral centers. A total of 32,506 biopsy specimens were analyzed, and specimens from 1,706 children aged 0–12 years were selected. Gender, age, anatomical location and histopathological diagnosis were evaluated. Descriptive statistics was carried out. Likelihood ratio tests were used to evaluate the association between the categorical variables. The level of significance was set at 0.05. The post-hoc test was used to identify the subgroups that significantly differed from one another, and the Bonferroni correction was applied. A total of 1,706 oral and maxillofacial lesions were diagnosed in pediatric patients, including 51.9% girls. Oral mucocele was the most prevalent reactive/inflammatory lesion (64%). The most commonly affected sites were the lips (34.5%) and mandible (19.9%). A significant association was observed between age and the group of lesions of the oral cavity (p < 0.001), and between age and anatomical location (p < 0.001). Pediatric oral and maxillofacial lesions were frequent and showed wide diversity, with the prevalence of mucocele. Knowledge of oral lesions is important for pediatric dentists worldwide, since it provides accurate data for the diagnosis and oral health of children.</p></div
