    Inclusion Matrices and Chains

    Given integers tt, kk, and vv such that 0≤t≤k≤v0\leq t\leq k\leq v, let Wtk(v)W_{tk}(v) be the inclusion matrix of tt-subsets vs. kk-subsets of a vv-set. We modify slightly the concept of standard tableau to study the notion of rank of a finite set of positive integers which was introduced by Frankl. Utilizing this, a decomposition of the poset 2[v]2^{[v]} into symmetric skipless chains is given. Based on this decomposition, we construct an inclusion matrix, denoted by Wtˉk(v)W_{\bar{t}k}(v), which is row-equivalent to Wtk(v)W_{tk}(v). Its Smith normal form is determined. As applications, Wilson's diagonal form of Wtk(v)W_{tk}(v) is obtained as well as a new proof of the well known theorem on the necessary and sufficient conditions for existence of integral solutions of the system Wtkx=bW_{tk}\bf{x}=\bf{b} due to Wilson. Finally we present anotherinclusion matrix with similar properties to those of Wtˉk(v)W_{\bar{t}k}(v) which is in some way equivalent to Wtk(v)W_{tk}(v).Comment: Accepted for publication in Journal of Combinatorial Theory, Series

    Optimizing the technique for replacement of unicellular algae with agricultural by-products in feeding Artemia urmiana and parthenogenetic Artemia

    In order to assess the maximum replacement possibility of unicellular green algae with cheap food sources for feeding Artemia, two strains of Artemia urmiana and parthenogenetic Artemia were fed under laboratory condition using wheat bran, soybean meal and 50/50% mixed diet of wheat bran/soybean, each in 12 different concentrations together with different rations of Dunaliella salina for 15 days. The results were compared with those fed only on algae D. salina as control group. At the end of the experiment, control groups in each two strains (with 9.11mm growth and 86.25% survival in A. urmiana and 8.55mm growth and 85% survival in parthenogenetic Artemia) had almost the best condition. In A. urmiana treatments 95.8-88% replacement for algae of wheat bran, treatment 94% replacement for algae of soybean and treatments 97-94% replacement for algae of mixed wheat bran/ soybean showed no significant differences with control in both growth and survival. In parthenogenetic Artemia treatments 94-82% replacement for algae of wheat bran, treatments 91-88% replacement for algae of soybean and treatments 91-82% replacement for algae of mixed wheat bran/soybean showed no significant differences with their control in both growth and survival. According to the results, it seems that single-cell algae and their production requires exorbitant spending and personnel which can be replaced with easily affordable agricultural wastes, without need to specialized staff

    Analysis of Ds∗D∗K∗D^*_sD^*K^* and Ds1D1K∗ D_{s1} D_1 K^* vertices in three-point sum rules

    In this study, the coupling constant of Ds∗D∗K∗D^*_sD^*K^* and Ds1D1K∗D_{s1}D_1K^* vertices were determined within the three-point Quantum chromodynamics sum rules method with and without consideration of the SUf(3)SU_{f}(3) symmetry. The coupling constants were calculated for off-shell charm and K∗^* cases. Considering the non-perturbative effect of the correlation function, as the most important contribution, the quark-quark, quark-gluon, and gluon-gluon condensate corrections were estimated and were compared with other predictive methods.Comment: 12 pages, 5 figure

    A STUDY OF HYDATID CYST CASES IN IRAN, A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

    Hydatid cyst is an infectious disease common between humans and animals which is spread worldwide and has been known to humans since old times. Different accounts have been presented on the individual characteristics of people suffering from hydatid cyst, clinical course, different treatment and diagnosis methods, and its recurrence. The hydatid cyst infection exits in various parts of the world, and Iran is on the endemic belt of the disease, in a way that different rates have been reported in different studies. Depending on climate conditions, social customs, nutritional status, and the amount of contact with canidae animals, incidence rates of up to 10 have been reported in human populations for these diseases. The present research is a systematic review study. In order to find the studies conducted in Iran, the articles in national and international journals and dissertations available on Magiran, Iranmedex, SID, Google-scholar, and PubMed databases were used, and more than 100 articles were found, among which 14 articles related to the topic that met the criteria for entering the study were investigated. The data collected were analyzed by SPSS version 18 through using descriptive-analytical statistics and chi-squared statistical test (X-2 test). The results of the study showed that infection rate in the liver of cows to hydatid cyst is 62, while lung infection in native and hybrid breeds in the city of Baneh is 7.75. In rural area of Tehran, 437 person, 276 women and 161 men, in the age range of 4-76 years of age were studied, and one person was positive and seven persons were suspected to the disease. The results of the present study showed that, although the infection rate of hydatid cyst in urban and developed parts of Iran is at an acceptable and satisfactory level, the statistics in lesser-developed areas is endemic and alarming and deserves paying more attention and developing organized plans to control the disease

    New spiro (thio) barbiturates based on cyclohexanone and bicyclo [3.1.1]heptan-6-one by nonconcerted [1+5] cycloaddition reaction and their conformational structures

    Crossed-aldol condensation reaction of aromatic aldehydes with ketones such as; acetone and cyclohexanone leads to the efficient formation of cross conjugated α,β-unsaturated ketones in excellent yield. The intermolecular and then intramolecular Michael addition reaction of α,β-unsaturated ketones derived from acetone and cyclohexanone with (thio)barbituric acids lead to synthesis new type of 7,11-diaryl-2,4-diazaspiro[5.5]undecane-1,3,5,9-tetraone and 2,4-diaryl-1'H-spiro[bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-3,5'-pyrimidine]-2',4',6',9(3'H)-tetraone, respectively in good yield. Structure elucidation is carried out by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FT-IR, UV-Visible, mass spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography techniques. A possible mechanism of the formation is discussed. The structural conformation also demonstrated by coupling constants derived from dihedral angles between vicinal and geminal protons. The 1H NMR spectra of NH protons of spiro compounds derived from barbituric acid show a broad singlet peak instead, these protons in the spiro compounds derived from thiobarbituric acid show two distinct peaks. KEY WORDS: Crossed-aldol condensation, Michael addition, [1+5] Cycloaddition, Barbituric acid, Conformation, Spiro barbiturate Bull.     Traditional closed-loop sanitation systems in peri-urban and rural Afghanistan: a SWOT analysis

    The closed-loop-sanitation-system (CLSS), or sustainable sanitation system, has accelerated in recent years and been successfully implemented in many parts of the world. This study explored the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) of the traditional CLSS (T-CLSS) in both peri-urban and rural contexts within three different provinces in Afghanistan, the first study of its kind in this country. Participatory research tools such as transect walks, focus group discussions, and interactive workshops have been applied to assess the SWOT components of T- CLSS. The results show that T-CLSS is practiced historically in both peri-urban and rural areas by different generations using local and traditional knowledge, skills and technologies. Socio-cultural acceptance of the system is considered as one of the strengths in both rural and peri-urban areas. It is highly recommended that the feasibility of improved CLSS be assessed and implemented in the light of the T-CLSS system

    Cosmic evolution of the logarithmic f(R) model and the dS swampland conjecture

    In this paper, we study the inflationary scenario in logarithmic f(R) gravity, where the rate of inflation roll is constant. On the other hand, our gravitational f(R) model is a polynomial plus a logarithmic term. We take advantage of constant-roll conditions and investigate the cosmic evolution of the logarithmic f(R) gravity. Therefore, we plot some figures such as the scalar spectrum index nsn_{s} and tensor-to-scaler ratio rr concerning nn, β\beta and model's constant parameters, i.e., α\alpha, θ\theta and γ\gamma respectively. Also, we obtain the potential by using the constant roll condition. We know that the potential value obtained with this condition has an exact value. Next, we challenge it with refined swampland conjecture with respect to the Planck data. Finally, we compare our results with the experimental data, especially Planck 2018.Comment: 20pages, 5 figure

    Investigation on two polymorphisms effective on HDL-C concentration in patients with coronary artery disease using restriction fragment length polymorphism

    Background and aim: High density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) is a known inverse predictor of coronary heart disease (CHD). Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) and hepatic lipase (HL) are key proteins in HDL-C metabolism so that decreased CETP or HL activity is associated with high HDL-C. -629C/A polymorphism in promoter of CETP gene and-514C/T in promoter of HL gene were previously reported to reduce related protein level in plasma. In this study association of these polymorphisms with CHD related to HDL-C level were investigated. Methods: In this analytical-descriptive study 321 subjects underwent coronary angiography and divided in two groups base on angiogram (non CAD = 135 and CAD = 186). Serum lipids profile was measured by standard procedure and genotype was detected using PCR-RFLP method. Results: Overall the CETP genotype frequencies were in CAD patients: 58.8% (n=110), 28.9% (n=54) and 12.3% (n=23) and in non CAD patients: 45.2% (n=61), 41.5% (n=56) and 13.3% (n=18) for AA, CA and CC respectively. HL genotype frequencies were in CAD patients: 61.6% (n=114), 33.5% (n=62) and 4.9% (n=9) and in non CAD patients: 65.9% (n=89), 27.4% (n=37) and 6.7% (n=9) for CC, CT and TT respectively. In control group HDL-C concentration was higher for AA than CC genotype in -629C/A, and also for TT than CC genotype in -514C/T. Allele A in all subjects and T allele in woman were higher in CAD than non CAD group. A high increase in HDL-C level (10. mg/dl) was observed in individuals with CETP-AA/LIPC-TT and CETP-CA/LIPC-TT relative to CETP-CC/LIPC-CC across all subjects (P< 0.001) but there was no difference in CAD prevalence. Conclusion: Allele A from -629C/A, and T from -514C/T even with the increasing of HDL-C concentration had higher frequency in CAD than non CAD group. Therefore, it seems that HDL-C didn’t protect coronary artery when CETP or HL activity was reduced by these polymorphisms

    Comparison of the growth, survival and nutritional value of Artemia using various agricultural by-products and unicellular algae Dunaliella salina

    Because of limitations of production of unicellular green algae (especially in large volumes), this study aimed to culture Artemia using three sources of cheap agricultural by-products that were coupled with small amounts of unicellular algae Dunaliella salina. The results of growth and survival, biomass production, individual wet weight, wet and ash percent, FCR and SGR and nutritional value of experiments groups were compared with that of the control group that was reared on a diet completely consisting of green algae. At the end of day 15, although best results in the case of growth and survival and biomass production were obtained in the control, the results of all evaluated parameters experimental treatments were comparable to the control
