Observation of built-up edge formation on a carbide cutting tool with machining aluminium alloy under dry and wet conditions
This paper presents the morphology of built-up edge (BUE)
formation under wet and dry conditions with low and high cutting speeds.
The workpiece materials and cutting tools selected for this work were
aluminium alloy and canela carbide inserts graded PM25. The cutting tools
underwent turning operation machining tests and their performance was
evaluated by the flank wear and observation of the tool wear area. The
machining tests were conducted at different spindle speeds and feed rates
while the cut depth was kept constant. The analysis showed that formation
of the BUE was dominant at low cutting speeds in dry conditions, but in
wet conditions at high cutting speeds, a better performance was exhibited
in terms of wear analysis
Prospects of tourism in Malaysia: A situational study focusing on socio-cultural and environmental aspects
Malaysia is perhaps one of the most unique countries of the world, being
strategically situated on the gate-way location of global routes with a
wonderful eco-environmental setting. Being a pluralistic society, it inherits
its own traditional culture with harmonious integration of the diverse ethnic
groups living in a very peaceful and politically stable situation. With all its
economic potentials, Malaysia has recently emerged as a newly-developed
nation with a huge infrastructural growth in its industrial and manufacturing
sectors. Due to these developments and other eloquent features, people from
abroad become largely attracted to this land and thus, they frequently arrive
here as visitors and tourists. As recently as in the year 2005, it is reported
that at least 16.7 million international tourists from outside visited Malaysia
bringing about 30 billion ringgit in terms of foreign currency in this country
(see Badruddin et.al. 2007). At present, tourism may be regarded as the
largest service-oriented industry in Malaysia contributing a great economic
share in the national GDP and provides employment to a bulk of the
population in the country. It brings civic pride and social prestige for
Malaysia by making a kind of international linkages in global context. It
takes Malaysian culture abroad and people from outside can get the touch of
the unique Muslim heritage in Malaysian context. Based on this positive
assumption, this proposed research will generate information in regard to
knowing about the present situation of tourism in Malaysian context. Side by
side, it is also recognized that tourism often damages eco-environments of a
particular region of the country, which are over-used by the tourists. The
natural habitats are dislocated, and also there occurs enormous social
impacts on local values and community culture. From that perspective the
paper is designed to deal with the issue of tourism in Malaysia from both
positive and negative perspectives; and thus it will generate a discourse to
conceptualize a rational framework for Malaysian tourism
Work performance and its influencing factors among support staff in Hospital Mersing, Johor
Work performance report is a systematic and comprehensive evaluation report
that quantitatively assesses the level of performance of civil servants in Malaysia.
The objective of this study was to ascertain whether work performance of supporting staff in Hospital Mersing is at par with the performance of civil servants
in Malaysia. Other objectives were to identify the high-performing and lowperforming members in the organisation and to determine factors affecting work
performance. This study was a cross-sectional, retrospective, and used convenient
sampling from secondary data in the employee service books, Human Resource
Management Information System (HRMIS) information and staff medical records in
2016. The results of this study show that there was significant relationship between
socio-demographic factors with work performance, which were gender, monthly
income and education level. However, there was no significant relationship
between ethnicity (p=0.692), age (p=0.102), marital status (p=1.000) and period
of service (p=0.299). There was no significant relationship found between health
factor and job factor with work performance. The outcome from this study can be
used by the hospital administration and supervisors to take measures improving
the level of staff work performance accordingly, which can benefit both individual
and the organisation

Effects of black rice husk ash on asphalt mixture under aging condition
The scarcities of natural resources and increment in the waste production rates have promoted efforts to investigate the potential incorporation of various by-products in roads construction and maintenance. Various types of waste materials have been investigated, assessed and evaluated for utilization and practiced in the industry. Reusing of waste materials such as black rice husk ash (BRHA) in asphaltic concrete (AC) was considered as one of the proper management of the waste, which ensure economic and environmental benefits. This study was investigated BRHA effects on the properties and performance of asphalt mixture under different aging condition. The BRHA was added in the AC14 mixture in a proportion of 0%, 2%, 4% and 6% by weight of bitumen. The optimum bitumen content was 5% and the bitumen used was 60/70 penetration grades. The asphalt mixture for each fraction was prepared in three different aging conditions i.e. un-aging (UA), short term aging (STA) and long term aging (LTA). The performance of the asphalt mixtures was evaluated by Marshall Stability and resilient modulus. The results indicate that asphalt mixtures consisting of BRHA have exhibited better performance in term of stability and resilient modulus when compared to the conventional asphalt mixtures. The short term and long term aging mixtures considerably produced higher performance than the un-aging mixtures. However, the LTA performed better than of the STA mixtures. Finally, the optimum additional percentage of BRHA was in the range of 4 - 6% since its produce excellent values in most circumstances

Legal Issues in E-Wallet Practices
E-Wallet has been applied in Muslim and non-Muslim jurisdictions in many parts of the world including Malaysia, China, India, and Korea. The application is widely used and has raised questions with regard to legal and shariah issues. This paper aims to analyse specifically, legal issues affecting e-wallet practices. This paper adopted a qualitative research approach. The data collected include document reviews, ethnographical interviews and observations. This study found several legal issues related to e-wallet inter alia, an unclear position on the liability of board directors of e-wallet operators, breach of mandate and exclusion of liability of e-wallet operators. As e-wallet is important as an enabler to increase financial inclusion, it is important to address the legal issues on e-wallet to enhance good governance and best practices of e-wallet in Malaysia. The findings from this paper can be used as a basis for policymakers including scholars in the formulation of guidelines on legal and shariah compliance of e-wallets
