Semilinear elliptic equations in thin regions with terms concentrating on oscillatory boundaries

In this work we study the behavior of a family of solutions of a semilinear elliptic equation, with homogeneous Neumann boundary condition, posed in a two-dimensional oscillating thin region with reaction terms concentrated in a neighborhood of the oscillatory boundary. Our main result is concerned with the upper and lower semicontinuity of the set of solutions. We show that the solutions of our perturbed equation can be approximated with ones of a one-dimensional equation, which also captures the effects of all relevant physical processes that take place in the original problem

Use of dialkyldithiocarbamato complexes of bismuth(III) for the preparation of nano- and microsized Bi2S3 particles and the X-ray crystal structures of [Bi{S2CN(CH3)(C6H13)}(3)] and [Bi{S2CN(CH3)(C6H13)}(3)(C12H8N2)]

A range of bismuth(III) dithiocarbamato complexes were prepared and characterized. The X-ray crystal structures of the compounds [Bi{S2CN(CH3)(C6H13)}3] (1) and [Bi{S2CN(CH3)- (C6H13)}3(C12H8N2)] (2) are reported. The preparation of Bi2S3 particulates using a wet chemical method and involving the thermalysis of Bi(III) dialkyldithiocarbamato complexes is described. The influence of several experimental parameters on the optical and morphological properties of the Bi2S3 powders was investigated. Nanosized Bi2S3 colloids were obtained having long-term stability and showing a blue shift on the optical band edge; the presence of particles exhibiting quantum size effects is discussed. Morphological welldefined Bi2S3 particles were obtained in which the fiber-type morphology is prevalent.FCT - POCTI/1999/CTM/ 3545

Guidance as a quality element in the Faculty of Educational Sciences in the University of Santiago de Compostela

[EN] The current social framework, characterized by complexity and change, requires new competences and qualifications, as well as professional profiles consistent with existing demands. Among the real transformations, stand out, for their relevance in the present work, those concerning the educational system, which has to expand its traditional role, with the University altogether, focused on the creation and transmission of culture and professional training, towards thestudent comprehensive formation. It is in this context, as a result of the approaches nominated by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), where the need to provide personal attention to students is stated and also to promote a greater autonomy in learning, always considering the decisive period that the university educational stage is in their lives, so Guidance actions have to be considered basic and essential. There is a lot of research made about the guidance needs of university students, as well as those that assess Guidance services in such stage, assuming all of them a rethinking of such discipline in the university context. That is why this paper focuses on the Guidance actions conducted with students of the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the University of Santiago de Compostela (Campus Vida), with the basic aim of analyzing this reality and claim, if it is necessary, the proper fulfillment of the commitments in the personal attention area, where Guidance takes an important role.[ES] El entramado social actual, caracterizado por la complejidad y el cambio, exige la adopción de nuevas competencias y cualificaciones, así como perfiles profesionales acordes con las demandas existentes. Entre las transformaciones acontecidas, destacan, por su relevancia en el presente trabajo, las referidas al sistema educativo, el cual, junto con la Universidad, ha de ampliar su cometido tradicional, centrado en la creación y transmisión de cultura y capacitación de profesionales, hacia la capacitación integral del alumno/a. Es, en este contexto, como consecuencia de los planteamientos postulados por el Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior (EEES), en donde se manifiesta la necesidad de ofrecer una atención personalizada al estudiante y promover mayor autonomía en su aprendizaje, considerando constantemente el momento decisivo que la etapa educativa universitaria constituye en su vida, por lo que las acciones de Orientación han de considerarse básicas e imprescindibles. Son muchas las investigaciones realizadas sobre las necesidades orientadoras de los estudiantes universitarios, así como aquéllas que evalúan los servicios de Orientación en dicha etapa, suponiendo todas ellas un replanteamiento de dicha disciplina en el contexto universitario. An approach to comfort in 3D printed clothing

A prototipagem rápida (3D) tem se apresentado como uma promissora técnica de produção. Diante do fato, diversas questões surgem com relação a mudança nos processos de produção, nomeadamente a percepção do conforto nos produtos obtidos por esta tecnologia. Engorda de bovinos em pastagem irrigada de capim Tifton-85 ("Cynodon spp".) na região do Sub-Médio São Francisco.

Avaliou-se a capacidade de suporte de uma pastagem irrigada de capim Tifton-85 (“Cynodon spp.”) e o ganho de peso de garrotes das raças Sindi e Crioula nesta pastagem. Utilizou-se o sistema de pastejo rotacionado com carga variável “put and take” com três garrotes “testes” por piquete, com quatro dias de pastejo e 24 dias de repouso. A pastagem suportou uma lotação de 12 garrotes por hectare. Os animais da raça Crioula apresentaram ganho de peso diário de 999,0 g, o que foi significativamente superior (P<0,05) aos animais da raça Sindi, que ganharam 673,0 g/dia. A utilização de pastagem de capim Tifton-85 irrigado, em sistema de pastejo racional rotacionado, pode suportar 12 garrotes da raça Sindi ou Crioula por hectare. A raça Crioula apresentou uma produção de 11,99 kg por hectare por dia, o que pode reduzir a idade de abate dos bovinos na regiã

Engorda de ovinos em pastagem irrigada de capim Tifton-85 ("Cynodon Spp.") na região do Sub-Médio São Francisco.

Avaliou-se a capacidade de suporte de uma pastagem irrigada de capim Tifton-85 (Cynodon spp.) e o ganho de peso de cordeiros desmamados da raça Santa Inês com peso vivo médio de 21 Kg e submetidos a dois níveis de suplementação com mistura múltipla das águas: 0,1 % e 0,3 % do peso vivo. Utilizou-se o sistema de pastejo rotacionado com carga variável ?put and take? com seis cordeiros testes por piquete, com 4 dias de pastejo e 24 dias de repouso. A pastagem suportou uma lotação média de 69,6 cordeiros por hectare. A suplementação, nos níveis utilizados de 0,1 e 0,3 % do peso vivo, não influenciou (P>0,05) no ganho de peso dos animais, que tiveram ganhos diários de 135,36 e 129,55 g, respectivamente. Com 84 dias de pastejo os cordeiros apresentavam peso vivo de 31,46 kg, peso este suficiente para atender a exigências de tamanho mínimo de abate. Os resultados obtidos indicaram que a pastagem de capim Tifton-85 irrigado, em sistema de pastejo rotacionado, suportou 69,6 cordeiros Santa Inês por hectare com um ganho de peso de 9,22 Kg/ ha/dia. Com isso, os cordeiros podem ser abatidos com seis a sete meses de idade

Interference and complementarity for two-photon hybrid entangled states

In this work we generate two-photon hybrid entangled states (HES), where the polarization of one photon is entangled with the transverse spatial degree of freedom of the second photon. The photon pair is created by parametric down-conversion in a polarization-entangled state. A birefringent double-slit couples the polarization and spatial degrees of freedom of these photons and finally, suitable spatial and polarization projections generate the HES. We investigate some interesting aspects of the two-photon hybrid interference, and present this study in the context of the complementarity relation that exists between the visibilities of the one- and two-photon interference patterns.Comment: 10 pages, 4 figures.
