ABSTRACTObjective: A study which involves in detecting anticonvulsant activity from Anacyclus pyrethrum roots by using maximal electroshock seizure (MES)in a dose-dependent way with the production of ethanolic extraction. Methods: The MES test is considered to be a predictor of likely therapeutic efficacy against generalized tonic-clonic seizures. Results: MES-induced tonic seizures can be prevented either by drugs that inhibit voltage dependent Na+ channels, such as phenytoin, valproate, andlamotrigine or by drugs that block glutamatergic excitation mediated by the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor like felbamate. Conclusion: The efficiency of A. pyrethrum will be detected after the incubation time of the animal, and the values of the ethanolic extraction will betested for the anticonvulsant activity. Keywords: Anacyclus pyrethrum, Albino mice, Maximal electroshock seizure, Anticonvulsant activity, Drugs

A cost minimization model was used to find the minimum cost and environmental friendly management practices(MCEFMP). Use of MCEFMP in cattle production seems to be the most cost effective means of reducing water pollution with a marginal cost of $1200 in comparison to use of MCEFMP on other agricultural operations.Environmental Economics and Policy,

The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of profitability, growth rate, firm size, complexity of the transactions, and internal control weakness State-Owned Enterprises listed in theexamination report of State Audit Agency during the years of 2008 and 2009.There are five variables in this research that consist of four independent variables namelyprofitability, firm size, growth and complexity of the transactions and one dependent variable thatis internal control weakness. There are four hypothesis used in this research that consist ofprofitability negatively affect to internal control weakness, firm size negatively affect to internalcontrol weakness, growth rate positively affect to internal control weakness, and the complexity oftransactions negatively affect to internal control weakness. Statistical method used in this researchis multiple regressions.According to the results of research, it can be concluded that internal control weaknesshave the effect of profitability individually. While firm size, growth rate, and the complexity of thetransactions have the effect of internal control weakness simultaneously

Study of Data Security Algorithms using Verilog HDL

This paper describes an overview of data security algorithms and its performance evaluation. AES, RC5 and SHA algorithms have been taken under this study. Three different types of security algorithms used to analyze the performance study. The designs were implemented in Quartus-II software. The results obtained for encryption and decryption procedures show a significant improvement on the performance of the three algorithms. In this paper, 128-bit AES, 64-bit of RC5 and 512-bit of SHA256 encryption and Decryption has been made using Verilog Hardware Description Language and simulated using ModelSim

Growth Kinetics and Survival of Urease positive and negative Strains of Vibrio parahaemolyticus

    Get PDF
Two each of urease positive and negative Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains along with their respective type strains were used for studying the growth kinetics and survival at various temperatures, NaCl concentrations and pH. Maximum growth was obtained at 37°C for both urease positive and negative isolates. The urease positive and negative strains were found to grow only at pH 7 and 9 among the pH's tested. Urease negative isolates were found to grow between 3% and 8% NaCI while urease positives could grow between 3% and 10% NaCI

The rhizosphere soil samples of healthy tomato plants were used to isolate Trichoderma spp and identified based on morphological and molecular characterization as a Trichoderma koningii (T1) T. flavofuscum (T2), T. harzianum (T3), T. asperellum (T4), T. harzianum (T5 & T7), T. koningii (T6), T. asperellum (T8), T. harzianum (T9), T. viride (T10). The isolates screened for antagonistic activity against ten virulent strains of Ralstonia solanacearum (Rs). Two isolates of Trichoderma (T4 and T8) exhibiting high antagonistic activity (24-29mm and 20-27mm respectively) and also studied for several biocontrol mechanisms under greenhouse conditions. These strains were found to be positive to protease, β-1, 3-glucanase, Cellulase, Chitinase, Xylanase, Amylase, Pectinase and lipase activity. Germination percentage increased by 48% and 45% by Trichoderma with pathogen treated seeds and also increased root length, shoot length, fresh weight, dry weight and vigour index. Efficacy of T4 and T8 isolate were evaluated under green house conditions in suppressing disease and promoting tomato plant growth. The disease incidence was significantly reduced by about 50% in tomato plants raised under green house conditions

Indonesia is a developing country which has focused on development. The development and acceleration of economic growth that occurred in Indonesia has not been evenly distributed in every province. This gives rise to a phenomenon of population movement (migration) occurring in rural communities who migrate to urban areas which eventually give rise to a phenomenon of urban poverty. The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of poor communities urban areas and to identify social representations about the city in poor communities in urban areas. The characteristics of poor communities are generally aged between under 25 to more than 54 years old, the majority of respondents are women, and generally work in the informal sector. The level of education of respondents are elementary school level (SD) or equivalent to high school level (high school) or equivalent. The income that can be obtained by poor communities were Rp. 100.000.00 up to Rp.1.500.000.00 per month. Overall poor communities did rural-urban migration between 1970 until 2010. The reason was to find a job, looking for experience, come to join her parents and husband, and generally they spent a time in a location was between 1 to 30 years. The frequency of returning home is zero to more than 4 times in the past year. Most of them do not choose the location as the first residence in the city. There are 4 kinds of type of social representations about the city and the poor. The dominant type of social representations about city is type a place to earn money. Beside that, the dominant type of social representations about the poor is underprivileged person
