    Get PDF
This article examines whether customer satisfaction is determined by age, gender and level of education. Data analysis in "SPSS 22.0" on 726 bank customers from Czech Republic and Kenya indicates that gender is a determinant of customer satisfaction. Furthermore, older individuals prefer easy accessibility of branches. In addition, quality e-banking services satisfy more bank clients with higher education. Older bank clients are dissatisfied with high banking prices and rates, whereas poor e-banking services influence customer dissatisfaction irrespective of educational status. Moreover, impersonal behavior of bank employees persuade people with higher education change banks. © Felix Kombo, Thi Anh Nhu Nguyen, 2016

Semantic network is so far an effective way for knowledge representation, especially if the matter deals with complexity of terminologies and concepts, which are not standalone, but connected by various relations. One among these fields of knowledge is philosophy, and one fact that the study students of university always face with difficulties when address the system of terminologies and concepts of philosophy. In practice, various tools are using by teachers for helping students understand philosophy terminologies and concepts, i.e. using mindmap tools. In this paper, we suggest a use of semantic network as a tool for representation of key terminologies in philosophy of Marxism that have been teaching in Vietnamese universities. For this purpose, the authors of the paper carefully investigate all materials of appropriate learning; make a selection and classification for setting up of terminologies; build a semantic network of these terminologies for a conceptional model. An effort is providing to design one software system with semantic updating, selecting and representing. These results are under the project “Studying and building semantic network of concepts in philosophy discipline for teaching and researching activities” ID: QG.18.46, in a University of Social Sciences and Humanities of Hanoi National University. What Shapes Undergraduate Students’ Satisfaction in Unstable Learning Contexts?

    Get PDF
This paper investigates what determinants, and to what extent, they influence students’ satisfaction in unstable learning contexts. Using a national-scaled sample of Vietnamese HEIs with a sound theoretical background, we find that regardless of instabilities from external shocks, the key factors that shape students’ satisfaction are fixed by traditional norms (self-efficacy, infrastructure, lecturer) rather than occasional factors occurring from each event. We find in particular that self-efficacy is the most influential factor for students’ satisfaction and friendship is the most prominent element that enhances students’ self- efficacy. Overall, this paper enriched the literature on student satisfaction, especially during unstable contexts. Thus, it has important implications for educators and HEIs stakeholders in management planning in the time to come

The role of orographic effects on occurrence of the heavy rainfall event over Central Vietnam in November 1999

    Get PDF
In this study, the WRF model is used to investigate the role of Central Vietnam terrain on occurrence of the heavy rainfall event in November 1999 over Central Vietnam. Two model experiments with and without terrain were performed to examine the orographic blocking effects during the event. In the terrain experiment, the results from a three-day simulation show that the model reasonably well captures northeast monsoon circulation, tropical cyclones and the occurrence of heavy rainfall in Central Vietnam. The topography causes a high pressure anomaly intensifying northeast monsoon. When the terrain is removed, the three-day accumulated rainfall decreases approximately 75% in comparison with that in the terrain experiment. The terrain blocking and lifting effects in strong wind and moisture laden conditions combined with convergence circulation over open ocean are the main factors for occurrence of the heavy rainfall event

    Get PDF
This study was performed to evaluate and examine financial literacy and retirement planning in sector employment in Vietnam in the context of financial safety during lifecycle. In order to collect primary data, a questionnaire was designed and distributed to 257 employees in the public and private sectors in Ho Chi Minh City. The results of descriptive analysis indicated that those who work in the public sector have a higher percentage of correct answers to questions about financial literacy and knowledge of social insurance than that of employees in the private sector. The results of a linear probability model (LPM) and two-stage least squares (2SLS) regression show that financial knowledge and regular saving are significant factors that enhance retirement planning, whereas sector employment is insignificant to retirement planning. These findings should improve the knowledge of financial literacy, pensions and social insurance disseminated through retirement seminars and education programs for workers. More research, however, should be conducted on these topics in Vietnam

The effects of perceived and actual financial knowledge on regular personal savings: Case of Vietnam

    Get PDF
The paper examines the factors, which affect decision-making on regular personal saving behaviour in the context of an emerging market in Vietnam. Focusing on financial literacy, the paper uses a combined measure of actual financial knowledge and a self-assessment of overall financial knowledge. The sample of the study consists of 240 commercial banks customers selected in 12 branches of four banks in Ho Chi Minh City. The questionnaire covers: (1) actual financial knowledge; (2) self-rating of financial knowledge; (3) financial risk tolerance; and (4) demographic characteristics of the respondents. The results of a logistic regression analysis show that perceived and actual financial literacy have separate effects on regular personal saving. Particularly, actual financial knowledge has a statistically significant positive relationship with regular personal saving with odds ratio higher than 6.5 times. However, perceived financial knowledge and financial risk tolerance factor are not statistically significant with regular personal saving. Finally, this paper offers evidence that the interaction variable, which is used to combine education level with their major study, has a statistically significant relationship with regular personal saving. © Foundation of International Studies and CSR, 2017

The article focuses on analyzing the factors affecting students' digital skills and adaptability in the context of digital transformation. The study identified influencing factors: Environment, Behavior, Individuals, Teachers, Time of use, and access. However, the results of an online survey of 1.282 students of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) with Cronbach's Alpha test method, EFA analysis, correlations, and regression analysis, showed that there are 3/5 factors identified in the hypothesis that affect digital skills and adaptability of HCMUTE students in the context of digital transformation, specifically: behavior (Beta = 0.177, Sig. = 0.000); individuals (Beta = 0.181, Sig. = 0.027); teacher (Beta = 0.547, Sig. = 0.000). Besides, the environment does not affect digital skills and adaptability (KNSKNTU) due to Beta = 0.017 and Sig.=0.384>0.05. Sig does not involve usage and access time factors. >0.05 in the table Correlations not be further analyzed in the regression model. The research results are expected to help provide a more objective view of the reality of digital adoption and student adaptability in the digital transformation context at HCMUTE
