Movement games not only help students improve their general fitness but also help increase excitement during exercise. However, the impact of movement games on physical development has not been determined, especially for non-sports majors. The purpose of this study was to find out the impact of movement games on male physical fitness in Physical Education courses. 51 healthy male student volunteers were randomly divided into 3 groups (15w, 7w, and control). Movement games were selected and applied to the experimental group (15w and 7w), while the control group did not apply movement games and practice according to the preset 15-week training program. The results in this study indicated that the application of MG for male students at Saigon University during PE courses had a positive way to enhance general physical fitness (i.e., the explosive power of the legs, agility, speed, and maximal aerobic speed). Future studies should focus on the impact in the time of movement games application, specific characteristics to different schools, as well as the evolution of physical development at each age when using the movement games.  Article visualizations

Task-based language teaching (TBLT) has generated worldwide popularity as a curriculum innovation, and extensive research has investigated various aspects of the approach. However, little is known about the implementation of classroom assessment in TBLT curricula. This study investigated high school English as a foreign language teachers’ beliefs and practices regarding assessment in a curriculum innovation context in Vietnam. Data comprised in-depth interviews with six teachers, as well as testing documents. The findings revealed a strong impact of the high-stakes exams on teachers’ testing beliefs in that they focused explicitly on linguistic items in the assessed content and forms of assessment. These beliefs were accurately reflected in their testing practices. However, both the teachers’ beliefs and practices were contradictory to teaching principles and the expectations of the intended curriculum. These findings suggest that in-service teacher professional development programs are necessary for innovations like TBLT to have a real change in the classroom

THE APPLICATION OF GENERAL ENDURANCE EXERCISES TO IMPROVE 3000-METER ARMED RUNS OF MALE MILITIA FORCES AGED 25-28 IN HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM

A 3000-meter run with guns, a common physical exercise to train endurance in military force, is one of the training and competition contents for male soldiers of the Vietnam People's Armed Forces in general and militia forces in particular. The purpose of this study was to build up a general endurance exercise for male militia forces aged 25-28 in Ho Chi Minh City. Independent samples t-test was used to compare the difference between the experimental and control groups, while Paired sample t-test was used to identify the difference between the pre- and post-experimental. By using the general methods in sport, 12 general endurance exercises were selected and applied for male militia forces in 3000-meter armed runs. Besides, the result showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups (the experimental group had higher scores when compared with the control one) after eight weeks of training.  Article visualizations

Environment and Other Problems in Construction Sector - Case of Vietnam Industrial Zones

The purpose of this paper is to address ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER PROBLEMS IN CONSTRUCTION SECTOR - CASE OF VIETNAM INDUSTRIAL ZONES. In this paper, we suggest that Vietnam cities should have policies to encourage and give priority support to production and business establishments that apply clean and environmentally friendly technologies such as gas technology instead of coal technology, firewood in ceramic production, and charcoal production. Bees make use of the residues of buckwheat. High technology is a progressive and inevitable trend to solve environmental pollution in craft villages and industrial zones

IT applications in education and Self-directed learning capacity

For differentiated teaching methods in Vietnam, educators only focus on intellectual ability which is provided in academic report cards. Overlooking psychological and cognitive factors leads to poor performance of differentiated teaching in high school in Vietnam. This application of technology in teaching helps teachers to prepare lessons quickly through available lecture templates, and at the same time take advantage of many resources such as videos, images, electronic documents, etc. help attract learners and improve teaching effectiveness

Using SeaWiFS satellite data for monitoring algal bloom in Vietnam waters, the South China Sea

Vietnam waters are located in west of the South China Sea. Due to large area spreading in long latitude with different climate and oceanographic condition, it is very difficult to implement the field measurement in whole water areas for study the natural environment and ecological processes. Some studies on harmful marine micro algal were carried out, but the monitoring the occurrence of algal bloom, especially harmful algal bloom from satellite data was not implemented. This study uses the SeaWiFS satellite data for monitoring the algal bloom occurrence in Vietnam waters during 2002-2004. Chl-a concentration was calculated from SeaWiFS satellite data using OC4 algorithm of SeaDAS software. The study has identified the bloom areas in Vietnam waters during monitoring time. In the Gulf of Tonkin, algae blooms occur at the river mouths where nutrient discharge from rivers is rich. Other areas in the Gulf of Tonkin, the blooms sometimes occurred from November to next April, the same time of Northeast monsoon season. In Central Vietnam waters, the blooms occurred sometimes during Southwest monsoon season from May to September. The observed bloom areas are extended in Northeast direction from Mekong river mouths along the coast, then tendency spread out to off shore where the direction of the coast changes. This bloom occurrence relates to upwelling in Central Vietnam waters. In coastal area of Mekong river delta and Gulf of Thailand, the Chl-a concentration is usually high due to nutrient discharge from rivers. In Paracel Islands, algal bloom is observed in August 2002 and November 2003. Monitoring algae bloom from ocean color satellite data is necessary, especially for warning harmful algal bloom or red tide in Vietnam waters
