Fuzzy de Sitter Space

We discuss properties of fuzzy de Sitter space defined by means of algebra of the de Sitter group $\mathrm{SO}(1,4)$ in unitary irreducible representations. It was shown before that this fuzzy space has local frames with metrics that reduce, in the commutative limit, to the de Sitter metric. Here we determine spectra of the embedding coordinates for $(\rho,s=\frac 12)$ unitary irreducible representations of the principal continuous series of the $\mathrm{SO}(1,4)$. The result is obtained in the Hilbert space representation, but using representation theory it can be generalized to all representations of the principal continuous series.Comment: 22 pp, calculation and results correcte

Performing Feminism, Performing Testimony: Female Rap Artists from Latin America

Crossing lines is one of the premises of hip hop in general and, especially, of female rap artists. Hip hop as an artistic expression crosses the lines between poetry and music. Femcees cross the line by entering a predominantly male genre, which has been harshly criticised for its sexist lyrics and performances. The femcees cross even more lines when seizing hip hop for their feminist agenda, defying thus the image of women propagated in this genre. Since as early as the mid-1990s, women all over the Latin American continent have been joining the hip hop scenes, but it is only in the recent years that their voices are starting to be heard. Apart from being art, hip hop fulfils multiple functions: it constitutes a public space for subaltern voices, it embodies the performativity of the feminist struggle against patriarchy as well as the performativity of testimony. In their lyrics, the femcees address numerous subjects, such as state repression, social inequalities, armed conflicts as well as gender-based violence, feminicide, homophobia and racism. This contribution aims to analyse how the femcees perform their struggle against patriarchal structures, on the on hand, and how they perform testimony of their experiences and lives, on the other hand, through hip hop. Furthermore, it is an objective to determine how hip hop lyrics and performances eventually become a place of memory for female realities in Latin America in the 21st century. Youtube videos by femcees from Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, Chile, Guatemala and Argentina, amongst others, constitute the object of investigation. Aspects studied are the use of images and the femcees’ self-representation in the videos as well as the testimony in the lyrics itself

El cuerpo femenino, violencia sexual y la dictadura en Argentina y Austria

El presente artículo se propone analizar cuatro obras literarias situadas en las épocas de dictadura en Argentina y Austria (Cambio de armas de Luisa Valenzuela, A veinte años Luz de Elsa Osorio, Rechnitz de Elfriede Jelinek y Die Hochzeit von Auschwitz de Erich Hackl) enfocando la posición de la mujer, su reducción al cuerpo y la violencia sexual, sufrida frecuentemente a manos de militares, con el fin de destacar los peligros particulares femeninos de estados de terror. Plantea que, para el hombre, la violencia sexual constituye una prueba de su supremacía frente a la mujer, y que en las obras examinadas, las mujeres son privadas de su voz y convertidas en víctimas eternas de la violencia sexual. Llega a la conclusión que la dictadura militar, basada en un sistema patriarcal, lleva a la absoluta represión de la mujer

Silencing gender violence in socialist patriarchy. A view at Cuban literature

[ES] Este artículo se propone explorar representaciones de la violencia de género en la literatura cubana contemporánea escrita por mujeres. Con tal fin, se analizan la novela El pájaro: pincel y tinta china (1998) de Ena Lucía Portela y la antología de cuentos Ofelias (2009) de Aida Bahr. Partiendo de la suposición que los discursos oficiales socialistas silencian la violencia de género en Cuba, se argumenta que las mencionadas obras literarias crean un contra-discurso y exponen no solo la realidad de la violencia de género, sino también el silencio social que la rodea. Se demuestra, además, que las descripciones explícitas de tal silencio cumplen una función subversiva en esta novela y antología.[EN] This article intents to explore representations of gender violence in contemporary Cuban women’s fiction. For this purpose, the novel El pájaro: pincel y tinta china (1998) by Ena Lucía Portela and the short story collection Ofelias (2009) by Aida Bahr are analysed. Parting from the assumption that the official socialist discourses silence gender violence in Cuba, I argue that these works of fiction create a counter-discourse, which both displays the reality of gender violence and the social silence evolving around it. Furthermore, I aim to prove that the explicit depictions of this silence have a subversive function in this novel and short story collection
