    Dissolution Method Development and Validation for Estimation of Noscapine Tablets

    A dissolution method was developed and UV spectrophotometry was developed for the evaluation of the dissolution of tablets containing 15 mg Noscapine .The dissolution medium 0.1 N HCl was found suitable to ensure sink conditions. USP Apparatus 2, 900 mL dissolution medium 45 minutes and 100 RPM were fixed. Dissolution profiles were generated at 10, 15, 20,   30; 45 min. Dissolution samples were analyzed with UV spectrophotometer at 213 nm. The UV method for determination of tablet was developed and validated. The method presented linearity (R2 = 0.999) in the concentration range of 1–9 μg/mL. The recoveries were good, ranging from 97.18% to 101.45%. The intraday and Interday precision results were 0.54% and 0.78% RSD, respectively. The developed dissolution test is adequate for its purpose and can be applied for the quality control of tablets. The common gynecological problems are Yonidaha, Yonikandu, Yoni paicchilya, Yoni strava, Yoni karkashata, Vamini and Upapluta yonivyapad, etc. The disturbed pattern of menstruation also causes many gynecological problems associated with female health. Ayurveda explains many ways for curing gynecological disorders especially Yoni Roga requiring local therapeutic measures, Sthanik Chikitsa is one of them which offers therapeutic relieves in various Stree Roga. Yoni-Pichu, Yoni Dhoopan, Yonidhawan, Yoni-Lepana, Uttarbasti, Yoni-Varti and Agnikarma, etc. are common approaches of Sthanik Chikitsa which are useful in many gynecological problems. These all approaches of Ayurveda help to maintain good health status of women and relives symptoms of white discharge, itching, burning micturation, foul smell and discharge, etc. These non-surgical and less invasive techniques offers health benefits to retain reproductive health of female and does not imparts severe side effects.     Enhancing Upper Limb Recovery and Reducing Stress and Anxiety Through Non-Immersive Virtual Reality in Subacute and Chronic Stroke Survivors: An Experimental Study

    Introduction: Stroke is the third-leading cause of major long-term disability and the second-leading cause of mortality worldwide. Paralysis, paresis (muscle weakness), spasticity, difficulty walking, difficulty controlling motions, and limb discomfort are frequent limb impairments. Nearly 80% of stroke survivors are affected. Stroke survivors suffer with physical disabilities in addition to a reduced quality of life in terms of their health, a higher degree of worry, and a loss of independence. With a prevalence of 55% to 75%, hand motor deficits are the most prevalent post-stroke.1 The most common impairment is motor dysfunction, which affects 90% of stroke survivors with some kind of upper limb motor disability. Motor dysfunction is a strong indicator of poor functional recovery. The most typical post-stroke symptom is hemiparesis.1 Objectives: The study's objective was to use a virtual reality system to enhance upper limb strength and function in hemiparesis. The study's secondary goal was to lessen tension and anxiety in stroke Survivors. Methods: This research was experimental. A patient was chosen from UEM Hospital in Jaipur, Rajasthan, based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Upper Extremity Functional Index (UEFI) and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21) were employed as outcome measures to evaluate the patients. Result: The outcome of the post-intervention data revealed that the Upper Extremity Functional Index (UEFI) had significant values of P.311. P .002 was used to determine the importance of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21). That indicates that following the intervention, all outcome indicators showed a considerable improvement. Conclusion: The post-intervention values of the depression anxiety stress scale (DASS 21) and the upper extremity functional index (UEFI) both indicated a substantial improvement. In order to improve strength and upper limb functions following hemiparesis and to lessen tension and anxiety as a result of the handicap, a low-cost VR system might be employed

    Cyberrehab: Empowering Hemiparesis Recovery With Affordable Mobile Virtual Reality Solutions For Upper Limb Strength

    Background: Hemiparesis is a debilitating condition characterized by weakened muscle strength in one side of the body, often caused by stroke or brain injury. Rehabilitation is crucial for improving upper limb muscle strength and functional recovery in individuals with hemiparesis. Mobile-based Virtual Reality (VR) programs have emerged as an innovative and cost-effective approach to augment conventional physiotherapy in rehabilitation. This study investigates the efficacy of a low-cost mobile VR intervention in enhancing upper limb muscle strength and motivating individuals with hemiparesis to actively engage in their recovery. Methods: A quasi-experimental study was conducted with 20 participants, divided into two groups: an experimental group receiving the combined intervention of mobile-based VR programs and conventional physiotherapy, and a control group receiving only conventional physiotherapy. The intervention spanned four weeks, with sessions held three days a week. Pre-test and post-test measurements were taken for various upper limb muscle groups using Manual Muscle Testing (MMT). Correlation analyses were conducted to assess the effectiveness of the intervention. Results: The results revealed a strong and statistically significant positive correlation between pre-test and post-test MMT scores in the experimental group, indicating substantial improvements in upper limb muscle strength. In contrast, the control group exhibited more modest gains. The integration of mobile-based VR programs led to increased motivation and engagement among participants, contributing to better adherence to the rehabilitation routine. Conclusion: The integration of affordable mobile VR solutions in hemiparesis rehabilitation presents a promising approach to empower individuals on their journey to recovery. By improving upper limb muscle strength and motivating active participation in rehabilitation, mobile VR interventions like "CyberRehab" have the potential to revolutionize the field of hemiparesis recovery, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for those affected by this condition. &nbsp

    Case series of paediatric adnexal torsion: rare yet urgent entity

    Ovarian torsion is a true emergency which warrants early diagnosis and timely surgical management to avoid the catastrophic consequences of further adnexal injury. In paediatric population, this is especially dangerous as the condition can go undiagnosed because of its rarity and nonspecific presentation of disease. This leads to delay in surgical exploration and loss of ovarian function. We encountered 6 cases of ovarian torsion in paediatric age group during a period of 2 years, at a tertiary care hospital in Ahmedabad. After enquiry of the symptoms and a series of investigations, a provisional diagnosis of torsion ovary was made and they were taken up for surgery. Intra-operatively all the patients were found to have non-salvageable ovary and fallopian tube on the affected side, and subsequently they underwent salpingo-oophorectomy. Diagnosis of ovarian torsion requires clinician awareness and a high degree of suspicion. Conservative surgery, in the form of ovarian detorsion can be tried in cases of ischemia but if ovarian necrosis has occurred, then salpingo-oophorectomy is performed as the last resort

    Are Health Caregivers safe from workplace violence? A cross sectional study on workplace safety from Tertiary Care Hospital of Uttarakhand

    Background: The prevalence of workplace violence in the healthcare sector is a problem that is frequently ignored and underreported. The performance of healthcare workers who have been the target of violence may suffer, which may have a negative effect on patient satisfaction and health. Aims & Objectives: The purpose of the current study was to determine the prevalence of workplace violence (WPV), risk factors for violence against healthcare workers, and their experiences regarding the same. Methodology: It was a cross-sectional study conducted on 157 hospital staff at Tertiary Care Medical College of Uttarakhand. Data was gathered using a semi-structured, self-administered questionnaire that was modified from the ILO, ICN, WHO, and PSI. Data were analyzed using SPSS software (version 20). Results: Factors like age, gender, job profile, lesser work experience, night shifts, and fewer staff on duty were found to have a positive association with workplace violence. It was observed that the majority of incidents took place in the ward, and the patient’s relatives were the attacker in most of the cases. It was also seen that the majority of Hospital staff did not get bothered by the incident except by staying super alert while dealing with other patients or their relatives. Conclusion: The study concludes that while caring for patients, Hospital staff are at risk of being victims of aggressive and violent situations. To reduce this problem, strategies like training staff in order to handle such incidents in the future should be brought into practice. Laws should be made stricter & assaulting staff on duty should be made a cognizable offense with serious consequences & heavy penalties.     Hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF): fuel for cancer progression

    Hypoxia is an integral part of the tumor microenvironment, caused primarily due to rapidly multiplying tumor cells and a lack of proper blood supply. Among the major hypoxic pathways, HIF-1 transcription factor activation is one of the widely investigated pathways in the hypoxic tumor microenvironment (TME). HIF-1 is known to activate several adaptive reactions in response to oxygen deficiency in tumor cells. HIF-1 has two subunits, HIF-1β (constitutive) and HIF-1α (inducible). The HIF-1α expression is largely regulated via various cytokines (through PI3K-ACT-mTOR signals), which involves the cascading of several growth factors and oncogenic cascades. These events lead to the loss of cellular tumor suppressant activity through changes in the level of oxygen via oxygen-dependent and oxygenindependent pathways. The significant and crucial role of HIF in cancer progression and its underlying mechanisms have gained much attention lately among the translational researchers in the fields of cancer and biological sciences, which have enabled them to correlate these mechanisms with various other disease modalities.
