Definición de espacios arquitectónicos para bibliotecas académicas.

Se presenta la metodología que debe seguir el bibliotecólogo de una bi blioteca académica, para realizar el documento de definición de necesidades y especificación de requerimientos, sobre la base de una propuesta de normas pa ra los cálculos arquitectónicos. Este documento es útil para que junto con ar quitectos y autoridades de la institución se desarrolle el proyecto integral en el que se consideren además de los parámetros estéticos, las fonnas de organiza ción interna que favorezcan el desarrollo de sus funciones

Los retos en la denominación de un tesauro sobre Ciencias de la Información y la Documentación

El objetivo del presente trabajo es proponer una denominación representativa a un tesauro en lengua española sobre la disciplina bibliotecológica donde se estudian los fenómenos inherentes a ella relacionados con la organización y acceso a la información y el documento, la información como contenido y el documento como contenedor. El título que se asigne a la herramienta lingüística de indización y recuperación de la información constituye un reto porque, desde el punto de vista terminológico, es la superestructura que determina el esquema al que se adapta el tesauro. Es el primer resumen que se ofrece sobre el contenido de la obra para guiar al lector y en este caso el término que encabeza el corpus sobre la disciplina y designa a la disciplina. En definitiva, es el nombre de la disciplina lo que está en juego

Library science analysis of Mexican television news on the web

Television is unquestionably a vehicle that socializes the journalistic tale of the human experience. The evolution of journalistic documentation and the need to respond to the organization of content generated in video collections and television archives, in particular news broadcasts, have created new areas and niches of opportunity for library and information science professionals. The research that is being carried out in Mexico on the analysis of news broadcasts and content representation on the web is presented. The documentary news treatment is crucial to strengthen the quality of content representation and ensure the relevance of discourse analysis for its organization, accessibility and preservation. The visibility of television news on the Web could be lessened due to deficiencies in metadata description

Registro bibliográfico y referencia bibliográfica: una revisión conceptual

In this work the confusion between bibliographic record and references arising from the use of the word bibliography in everyday language is analyzed. This analysis is conducted from the rearrangement stated in the current new standards and the meaning in the bibliographic theory. In the conceptual model expressed in the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR), the use of the same descriptive normativity for both cataloging and bibliography is explicitly advocated. International organizations such as IFLA, in response to the dizzying growth of information by means of diverse supports, aim to unify the descriptive criteria in order to guide bibliographers for the 21st Century. The ancient dichotomy between bibliographic standards and cataloguing rules disappeared, and references and citation styles with the minimum required data in the scientific texts remain. Estudio comparativo de tesauros bibliotecológicos en lengua española Comparative study of library science thesaurus in Spanish

En pos de la búsqueda del sentido de identidad en los diferentes países de lengua española o castellana, sin perder la terminología común disciplinaria, se compara un tesauro bibliotecológico latinoamericano y otro elaborado en España sobre esta misma especialidad, tanto para extraer similitudes y diferencias terminológicas, dadas por el entorno científico y sociocultural en donde éstos han sido desarrollados, como para definir la información que deben proporcionar, con la finalidad de establecer recomendaciones al presentar los tesauros. El análisis de la terminología en una especialidad y en una lengua contribuyen a entender no sólo las unidades lingüísticas que representan y vehiculan el conocimiento especializado, sino también a reconocer diferencias o vertientes disciplinarias de corrientes de pensamiento expresadas en la estructura lingüística que habrá de conformar un tesauro.With the intention of conserving a sense of identity in the different Spanish speaking countries while trying not to lose the common disciplinary terminology, a Latin American library science thesaurus and another one elaborated in Spain, are compared. The aim is to extract terminological similarities and differences imposed by the sociocultural and scientific environments in which those thesauri have developed, on the one part, and to define the information they should provide, on the other, in order to establish recommendations for the presentation of the thesaurus. Terminological analysis in a given discipline and language contribute to the understanding not only of the linguistic units they represent and that serve as vehicles for specialized knowledge, but also to recognize disciplinary differences or structures of schools of thought expressed in the linguistic structure which will give form to a thesaurus
