BMT Bintoro Madanis hoped to be usefull for its surrounding, Phisicily, the building or BMT Bintoro Madani ’s office is tried to reflect a sheitered frienship and having harmony with its surrounding. Socially the working programme the working of BMT Bintoro Madani employees should be able to create a good people, such to arrange a meeting and deepen Alqur ‘an, periodically with the member of the office or the people of the BMT’s surrounding, or to commemorate the Islam day on BMT Bintoro Madani ‘s environment. This study have had some objective as follow : 1.To give a picture of micro-financial institution as a shape of of financial institutions of village establisment system which is based on “Balaiusaha Mandiri Terpadu (BMT) in a country which has proble ms in getting a trustment from the creditur institutions whether institutionally or individually. 2.To help in pioneering the establishment of the micro-financial institutions(LKM) in this case especially the objective of this study is to find some ways in controlling and evaluating which is based on the result of the institution work, in line with the value of the credibleinstitutions healthy. 3.To find some strastegic ways which can support the BMT institution, especially in controlling ang evaluating based on the institution work. 4. To find the effective ways to increase the lawyer ‘s trust to collect the capital and to make go out the cost, to increase the workers opportunity and develop the house - industry. The continuously of BMT institution and it can fun ctioning well which has developed about 10.000 institution in Indonesia, as institution which support the economic activities of micro - industry, small and middle - industry is made by the reaching formulations of the BMT healthy level. So it can give whether for the institution itself or the lawyer. Based from that illustration which is possible done by other BMT institution in whole Indonesia ini facing the same problems. So the advantage of this study which are done for analyzing the working of BMT Bintoro Madani welfare are as follows : 1.Tobe able in analyzing the BMT ‘s participation which is as an institution connected between the owner who save their money in the institution with the micro business which need capital to develope this industry (effort). It can also be used by another BMT in Indonesia for looking for themselves about the function itself. 2.To analyse BMT participation as an institution to give an opportunity than is usefull for the owner and the micro anf small even middle-industry 3.To be able in giving an illustration about the opportunity in increasing the effort‘s skill for the small and middle-industry by doing the erection pattern and the approximation of Muamalah institution. 4.Tobe able in giving consideration in making fund to increase communications as information and to promote the product from the micro, small and middle-industry. 5.To participate in finding and introducing the technology, so It can increase the additional value of micro, small ang middle-industry. 6.To limit the social differentiation between the member and the society. 7.To be able to practice in reality life between “UBUDIAH” religious ang Muamalah religious. A poor BMT shows that there are some mistake in managing not only in management sector, in institutionally but also in moeslem law. If it didn’t anticipate, the BMT institution would face many difficulties in doing their business. And in the end, it would be sink ang have a loss. Beside it can also make negative value for the institution and the axistance of BMT and generally for the mouslem financial institution in tht society. Remembering that the financial institution is as must service which is easy with information that involves of managing the BMT institution pattern in Indonesia

Selection of reference genes for normalisation of real-time RT-PCR in brain-stem death injury in Ovis aries

Background: Heart and lung transplantation is frequently the only therapeutic option for patients with end stage cardio respiratory disease. Organ donation post brain stem death (BSD) is a prerequisite, yet BSD itself causes such severe damage that many organs offered for donation are unusable, with lung being the organ most affected by BSD. In Australia and New Zealand, less than 50% of lungs offered for donation post BSD are suitable for transplantation, as compared with over 90% of kidneys, resulting in patients dying for lack of suitable lungs. Our group has developed a novel 24 h sheep BSD model to mimic the physiological milieu of the typical human organ donor. Characterisation of the gene expression changes associated with BSD is critical and will assist in determining the aetiology of lung damage post BSD. Real-time PCR is a highly sensitive method involving multiple steps from extraction to processing RNA so the choice of housekeeping genes is important in obtaining reliable results. Little information however, is available on the expression stability of reference genes in the sheep pulmonary artery and lung. We aimed to establish a set of stably expressed reference genes for use as a standard for analysis of gene expression changes in BSD

Basal cell nuclear size in experimental oral mucosal carcinogenesis.

    Get PDF
It has been suggested that the size of the nuclei of epithelial basal cells can be used in predicting the likelihood of malignant transformation of epithelium. This proposition was assessed in rat palatal epithelium after the carcinogen 4-nitroquinoline-1-oxide had been applied to the epithelium for varying periods of time. No consistent alterations in basal cell nuclear size, including area, perimeter, diameter and regularity of form were found with routine light microscopy as the epithelium passed through various stages of dysplasia to carcinoma. This finding casts doubt on the value of using a variation of basal cell nuclear size as a predictor of malignant transformation

The Roles of Indoxyl Sulphate and p-Cresyl Sulphate in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease: A Review of Therapeutic Options

    Get PDF
Indoxyl sulphate (IS) and p-cresyl sulphate (PCS) are products of proteolytic bacterial fermentation by gut microbiota. They accumulate in the sera of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and have been associated with CKD progression and cardiovascular and all-cause mortality. Therapeutic strategies for lowering IS and PCS include increased clearance (enhanced dialysis), gastrointestinal sequestration (oral adsorbents), reduced synthesis (dietary protein restriction, dietary fibre augmentation and pre-, pro- or synbiotics), antioxidants and organic anion transporter modulators. This review will discuss the roles of IS and PCS as therapeutic targets and examine the clinical evidence for different treatment options and their effects on CKD and cardiovascular disease risk. We will include our group’s research with pre-, pro- and synbiotic interventions to mitigate serum uraemic toxin accumulation and modify cardiovascular and renal risk

Verification of Austroads concrete pavement design method using EverFE computer program

The current Austroads concrete pavement design procedure is based on the PCA’s empirical design method originally developed in 1960’s, which may only be applicable for certain loading and environmental conditions. With the increased utilisation of larger and heavier commercial vehicles, eventually future pavements cannot be designed using this method. While this method is still considered adequate at present, this paper attempts to investigate whether there is a need to revise the design procedure in the future. In the present study, pavement design was initially performed as per the Austroads procedure using the RMS pavement design spreadsheet for a comparison with the EverFE 3D Finite Element Analysis computer program. Traffic data from Pennant Hills Road in North Parramatta and the eastbound lanes of the M2 motorway in North Epping, Sydney were used. The results of this study reveals that the equivalent stress values of standard vehicles obtained from Austroads method are lower than the maximum tensile stress obtained from EverFE for unbonded boundary condition by as little as 5.7% (for TRDT) to a maximum of 15.7% (for SAST). However, for the selected traffic compositions, it has been found that the difference in equivalent stress values does not influence allowable axle repetitions and the resulting pavement thickness. EverFE was subsequently used to model the response of a rigid pavement configuration to hypothetical axle loadings for different wheel positions from pavement edge. It was found that under the assumed traffic loading the pavement stresses could increase threefold but temperature gradient in the pavement would still be the most significant factor in affecting pavement stresses. The overall results therefore suggest that the Austroads concrete pavement design method is presently adequate, but there may be a need to revise the current design method if the traffic loading increases significantly in the future

The continuously growing mouse incisor is an excellent model to analyze the mechanisms for stem cell lineage. We designed an organ culture method for the apical end of the incisor and analyzed the epithelial cell lineage by 5-bromo-2′-deoxyuridine and DiI labeling. Our results indicate that stem cells reside in the cervical loop epithelium consisting of a central core of stellate reticulum cells surrounded by a layer of basal epithelial cells, and that they give rise to transit-amplifying progeny differentiating into enamel forming ameloblasts. We identified slowly dividing cells among the Notch1-expressing stellate reticulum cells in specific locations near the basal epithelial cells expressing lunatic fringe, a secretory molecule modulating Notch signaling. It is known from tissue recombination studies that in the mouse incisor the mesenchyme regulates the continuous growth of epithelium. Expression of Fgf-3 and Fgf-10 were restricted to the mesenchyme underlying the basal epithelial cells and the transit-amplifying cells expressing their receptors Fgfr1b and Fgfr2b. When FGF-10 protein was applied with beads on the cultured cervical loop epithelium it stimulated cell proliferation as well as expression of lunatic fringe. We present a model in which FGF signaling from the mesenchyme regulates the Notch pathway in dental epithelial stem cells via stimulation of lunatic fringe expression and, thereby, has a central role in coupling the mitogenesis and fate decision of stem cells

Establishing a core outcome set for peritoneal dialysis : report of the SONG-PD (standardized outcomes in nephrology-peritoneal dialysis) consensus workshop

    Get PDF
Outcomes reported in randomized controlled trials in peritoneal dialysis (PD) are diverse, are measured inconsistently, and may not be important to patients, families, and clinicians. The Standardized Outcomes in Nephrology-Peritoneal Dialysis (SONG-PD) initiative aims to establish a core outcome set for trials in PD based on the shared priorities of all stakeholders. We convened an international SONG-PD stakeholder consensus workshop in May 2018 in Vancouver, Canada. Nineteen patients/caregivers and 51 health professionals attended. Participants discussed core outcome domains and implementation in trials in PD. Four themes relating to the formation of core outcome domains were identified: life participation as a main goal of PD, impact of fatigue, empowerment for preparation and planning, and separation of contributing factors from core factors. Considerations for implementation were identified: standardizing patient-reported outcomes, requiring a validated and feasible measure, simplicity of binary outcomes, responsiveness to interventions, and using positive terminology. All stakeholders supported inclusion of PD-related infection, cardiovascular disease, mortality, technique survival, and life participation as the core outcome domains for PD

LRP1 Regulates Architecture of the Vascular Wall by Controlling PDGFRβ-Dependent Phosphatidylinositol 3-Kinase Activation

Low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 1 (LRP1) protects against atherosclerosis by regulating the activation of platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta (PDGFRbeta) in vascular smooth muscle cells (SMCs). Activated PDGFRbeta undergoes tyrosine phosphorylation and subsequently interacts with various signaling molecules, including phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K), which binds to the phosphorylated tyrosine 739/750 residues in mice, and thus regulates actin polymerization and cell movement. In this study, we found disorganized actin in the form of membrane ruffling and enhanced cell migration in LRP1-deficient (LRP1-/-) SMCs. Marfan syndrome-like phenotypes such as tortuous aortas, disrupted elastic layers and abnormally activated transforming growth factor beta (TGFbeta) signaling are present in smooth muscle-specific LRP1 knockout (smLRP1-/-) mice. To investigate the role of LRP1-regulated PI3K activation by PDGFRbeta in atherogenesis, we generated a strain of smLRP1-/- mice in which tyrosine 739/750 of the PDGFRbeta had been mutated to phenylalanines (PDGFRbeta F2/F2). Spontaneous atherosclerosis was significantly reduced in the absence of hypercholesterolemia in these mice compared to smLRP1-/- animals that express wild type PDGFR. Normal actin organization was restored and spontaneous SMC migration as well as PDGF-BB-induced chemotaxis was dramatically reduced, despite continued overactivation of TGFbeta signaling, as indicated by high levels of nuclear phospho-Smad2.Our data suggest that LRP1 regulates actin organization and cell migration by controlling PDGFRbeta-dependent activation of PI3K. TGFbeta activation alone is not sufficient for the expression of the Marfan-like vascular phenotype. Thus, regulation of PI3 Kinase by PDGFRbeta is essential for maintaining vascular integrity, and for the prevention of atherosclerosis as well as Marfan syndrome
