Scene Text Eraser

The character information in natural scene images contains various personal information, such as telephone numbers, home addresses, etc. It is a high risk of leakage the information if they are published. In this paper, we proposed a scene text erasing method to properly hide the information via an inpainting convolutional neural network (CNN) model. The input is a scene text image, and the output is expected to be text erased image with all the character regions filled up the colors of the surrounding background pixels. This work is accomplished by a CNN model through convolution to deconvolution with interconnection process. The training samples and the corresponding inpainting images are considered as teaching signals for training. To evaluate the text erasing performance, the output images are detected by a novel scene text detection method. Subsequently, the same measurement on text detection is utilized for testing the images in benchmark dataset ICDAR2013. Compared with direct text detection way, the scene text erasing process demonstrates a drastically decrease on the precision, recall and f-score. That proves the effectiveness of proposed method for erasing the text in natural scene images

Exploratory study of key persons who success the innovation activities in Japanese firms <Notes>

イノベーションの成功に貢献するキーパーソン人材としてのプロダクト・チャンピオン研究において，日本企業を対象とした研究はほとんど進んでこなかった。一方，米国を中心として貢献人材の研究は数多く報告されている。そこで，国別文化におけるプロダクト・チャンピオンの行動戦略を提示しているShane らのフレームワークを用いて，日本企業内に存在するプロダクト・チャンピオンの実際の行動に当てはめ，その特徴を明らかにした。その結果，プロダクト・チャンピオンの行動に影響を及ぼす日本企業の特徴が浮き彫りになった。また，今後の研究課題を示すことができた。本研究は，平成23年度ならびに平成24年度の広島大学マネジメント研究センターのプロジェクト研究，およびJSPS科研費24530514の助成を受けたものである

Wilting Tolerance of the Cut Flowers in Chrysanthemum and Carnation

切花の輸送や貯蔵を考える場合の基礎資料を得る目的で,キクおよびカーネーション切花について,しおれの回復限界および回復後の状態について調査を行なった. その結果,しおれの回復限界は採花後の期間でみると一概にはいえないが,生体重からみるとキクでは採花時の約70%,カーネーションでは約80%であった. その範囲内では,水揚げ後約12時間でほぼ完全に回復してその後の開花も順調に進行した. また,採花後一定期間内にしおれが比較的早く進行した場合の方が,水揚げ後の回復が良好になる傾向がうかがわれた. とくにカーネーションでは回復後の開花が良好で花径も大きくなり,外観も良好で日持期間がやや延長する傾向が認められた. しおれとその後の水揚げに伴う呼吸強度の変化を調査したところ,水揚げ開始とともに一時的に呼吸強度が急増するが,その後はむしろ低い水準でほとんど変化のない状態が保たれた. このようなことが,その後の回復状態が良好であったことと関係があるのかも知れない. 今後,しおれの持つ生理的影響についてさらに検討が必要であろう

世界遺産があるコミュニティと博物館－ホンジュラスのコパンルイナスの事例より－

　The World Cultural Heritage "Maya Site of Copan" is located at the town of CopanRuinas, Honduras, Central America. A digital museum was established here in 2015under Japanese cooperation. The main theme of the digital museum is the history of thecommunity of Copan Ruinas from ancient times to the present. While other museums atCopan Ruinas are managed by the Honduran Institute of Anthropology and History（ IHAH）-which is a national organization of the country-, the digital museum is co-managedbetween the municipality of Copan Ruinas and IHAH in which community’s idea plays apositive role in the installment and management of the exhibition. Kanazawa University’sliaison office at Copan Ruinas -set in 2017- has cooperated with the exhibition of thismuseum through the students’ overseas internship program. The digital museum at CopanRuinas serves as a place of cultural exchange between the students and the people of thecommunity. It also serves as a good place of practice for the research on museums and thecommunity
