A possible examination method for observing agriculture

    Get PDF
On the basis of our examinations we have come to the conclusion that longitudinal examinations are the simplest and most up-to-date methods as well as the most cost-efficient ones to follow the decision-making, preparatory data collecting, processing and analysing opportunities serving the sustainability of agriculture better and better together with tracing down the feedback about the decisions to see if the given measure has really resulted in reaching the objectives. The method was proved to be able to supply both micro-and macro-level information in the desired breakdown, groupings and systems of connections. The development successive (panel) examination that we applied can serve as the basis of making decisions affecting huge areas by means of total listings and breakdowns. Moreover, it can also control their effects and aftermaths. We suggest the implementation of introducing this data collecting and information supplying method declared to be desirable also by the European Union. Implementation could be eased to a great extent by the fact that it is available for the organisations, as well.longitudinal examination, method, application, Research Methods/ Statistical Methods,

Sub-7 fs radially-polarized pulses by post-compression in thin fused silica plates

We experimentally demonstrate the post-compression of radially polarized 25 fs pulses at 800 nm central wavelength in a multiple thin plate arrangement for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. Sub-7 fs pulses with 90 µJ energy were obtained after dispersion compensation, corresponding to a compression factor of more than 3.5. Preservation of radial polarization state was confirmed by polarized intensity distribution measurements. Linear projections of the radially polarized pulses were also fully characterized in the temporal domain

The role of complement activation in the pathogenesis of Fuchs' dystrophy.

PURPOSE: Inflammation can be an etiologic factor of Fuchs' dystrophy according to previous studies. Our aim was to analyse the activation of the complement system in the aqueous humor in this pathological condition. METHODS: 100mul aqueous humor sample was taken during keratoplasty of 11 Fuchs' dystrophic patients and during phacoemulsification surgery of 18 control patients. The samples were mixed with EDTA and stored at -80 degrees C. Concentrations of C1rC1sC1Inh and C3bBbP complexes as markers of the activation of the classical and alternative complement pathways, respectively, were measured with ELISA method. The results of the patient group and the control group were compared with statistical analysis (non-parametric Mann Whitney test). RESULTS: Both the concentrations of C1rC1sC1Inh [4.3 (3.2-20.2)AU/ml] and of C3bBbP [15.3 (7.8-22.6)AU/ml] were significantly higher in the Fuchs' dystrophic group than in the control group [C1rC1sC1Inh: 0.0 (0.0-5.6)AU/ml, C3bBbP: 1.4 (0.0-7.8)AU/ml]. The median value is shown along with the (25% and 75% percentiles). CONCLUSIONS: Based on our results, the complement system may be activated both through the classical and alternative pathways in the aqueous humor of the patients with Fuchs' dystrophy

    2.3-cycle mid-infrared pulses from hybrid thin-plate post-compression at 7 W average power

© 2020 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V. Output pulses of a 100 kHz mid-infrared OPCPA system are post-compressed from 4.7 cycles down to 2.3 cycles by using a combination of a dielectric and a semiconductor crystal in a hybrid thin plate setup. Efficient spectral broadening is demonstrated with 11 W average input power. After compression the output power reached 6.8 W with exceptional CEP and energy stability for a several hours. The post-compressed pulses were carefully characterized in both temporal and spatial domains, resulting in 2.3-cycle temporal duration at 3.1 μm central wavelength with a temporal Strehl ratio of 0.73 and a spatial Strehl ratio of 0.97. Thermal limitations due to multiphoton absorption of semiconductors present at this power level are explored by temperature measurements, which are supported by detailed numerical simulations. Upscaling for higher average powers was also investigated11sciescopu
