Integrity refers to the qualities that exist in everyone based on the and high moral practices. Therefore, youth as the catalyst of the nation, need to be ethical in their actions and make ethical values as a culture in their daily lives. Recognizing the importance of integrity, this study is expected to help the public sector mainly in pahang plan strategies to instill the culture of integrity among youth. Thus, the main objective of this study is to identify the factors that influence the intention to commit unethical behavior among youth in Pahang. The objective of the study is to examine whether attitudes (love of money and greed), subjective norms (parental influence and peer influence) and perceived behavioral control (financial stress and capability) and religiosity will have a relationship with Intention to commit unethical behaviour . The study was conducted using a survey. A total of 148 respondents who are youths between the ages of 18 to 40 who work in government agencies participated the results of this study revealed that religiosity shows a significant and negative relationship with intention to commit unethical behaviour. This study adds to the body of knowledge about intention to commit unethical behavior. It is intended that this study would improve awareness of youth in ensuring that they are able to perform their duties with integrity

Carbon dioxide (CO2) as one of the heat-trapping gases, has caused global warming. Being a greener and more economical material, amino acid-based deep eutectic solvents (AADES) have attracted interest in CO2 capture applications. In this paper, the effect of L-arginine (Arg) in binary AADES of arginine-ethylene glycol (Arg-EG) and ternary AADES of choline chloride-ethylene glycol-arginine (ChCl-EG-Arg) on adsorption of CO2 was studied. The solubility, basicity, and physicochemical characteristics were compared with the binary DES (ChCl-EG) before and after being impregnated into a silica gel (SG) via the wet impregnation method. The AADES/SG adsorbents were evaluated for CO2 sorption performance using an automated gas sorption analyzer at 100% CO2 loading and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) at flue gas conditions (15% CO2/85% N2). Findings show the basicity and the nitrogen content (N%) of AADES/SG were increased as Arg was added and DES/AADES functional group peaks (amino, hydroxyl, alkyl groups) were observed after the impregnation. The CO2 sorption of 16.0 mg/g at 25 °C and 1 atm was achieved by 30% Arg-EG(1:8)/SG followed by 30% ChCl-EG-Arg (1:2:0.1)/SG (14.8 mg/g) and 30% ChCl-EG/SG(1:2) (14.5 mg/g) using an Autosorb iQ2 instruments with 100% CO2 loading. The CO2 uptake was increased almost linearly with increasing pressure and decreased with increasing temperature. The Arg-EG(1:8)/SG shows the highest selectivity toward CO2 than other sorbents with 8.10 mg/g adsorption for 1 h at 15% CO2 loading at 25 °C with higher thermal stability and surface area. Considering environmental, technological, and economic viewpoints, the Arg-EG(1:8)/SG can be explored more as a potential solid sorbent for CO2 capture

Effects of soaking in glycerol and conventional solvents on the grinding of Kempas Wood (Koompassia malaccensis)

Glycerol, the main by-product in biodiesel manufacturing, is a useful and environment-friendly solvent for many organic and inorganic substrates. This study investigates the effects of soaking using glycerol, silicone oil, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and Organosolv (1:1 water: ethanol) on energy consumption in the process of grinding kempas wood and on the particle size of ground kempas. Kempas wood chips were soaked in various solvents at 90°C for 1 h. The structural characterisation of untreated and treated kempas was analysed using CHNS, ATR-FTIR and XRD. Meanwhile, the grinding energy was calculated based on power per unit time while particle size was analysed using nested column sieves. Glycerol has high stability, good compatibility with other chemicals and is environmentally friendly. Glycerol-soaked kempas consumed less energy which led to energy saving of up to 0.015 W h and exhibited the smallest average particle size (263 μm) close to that of untreated kempas due to glycerol lubricating properties. Therefore, glycerol can be used as an alternative to conventional solvents in reducing the grinding energy consumption and particle size of lignocellulosic biomass
