THE ROLE OF INNOVATION IN CREATING THE COMPANY’S COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

    Get PDF
The fundamental and applied research, the technologic transfer and more particularly, the innovation work – as a component part of the said research activity – stand for aspects to which economies have, lately, started to grant increased importance. The rapid changes in the characteristics of external markets, as well as those in the technologic field are challenges for more frequent and more rapid innovations, with the end result in new products, processes and technologies. Innovation is the leading force of competitiveness, of growth, of profitability, as well as of the creation of durable values since it is well known that the competitive advantage, so much wished-for by any organization which operates in a highly competitive environment, is volatile, hard to obtain

Focussed ion beam based fabrication of micro-electro-mechanical resonators

    Get PDF
A simple and fast process to fabricate micro-electro-mechanical (MEM) resonators with deep sub-micron transduction gaps in thin SOI is presented. The proposed process is realized on both 350nm and 1.5μm thin silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrates, evaluating the possibilities for MEMS devices on thin SOI for future co-integration with CMOS circuitry on a single chip. Through the combination of conventional UV-lithography and focused ion beam (FIB) milling the process needs only two lithography steps, achieving ∼100nm gaps, thus ensuring an effective transduction. Different FIB parameters and etching parameters and their effect on the process are reporte

L’opposition parlementaire en Roumanie postcommuniste: 1990-2004

To what extent the parliamentary activity of the Romanian political parties reflects the division line between "power" and "opposition", as it is defined by the alliances that shape the composition of the government and of its parliamentary support? According to data analysis, the most straightforward answer to this question should be: the parliamentary activity of the political parties reflects only moderately the division line between "power" and "opposition". There is a clear and frequent support given to the government and to its policies, by the parties that do not belong to the parliamentary majority. The division line between the two camps is crossed form both sides but, in most of the cases, the opposition parties are the ones who cross it. Nevertheless, the data gathered do not offer enough arguments neither to change completely the image of the "power" and "opposition" camps, as it was publicly perceived during the whole period, nor to nominate certain parties that have constantly transgressed the division line between the two camps

Fabrication of silicon-on-insulator MEM resonators with deep sub-micron transduction gaps

    Get PDF
The paper proposes and validates a low-cost technological process for the realization of mono-crystalline micro-electro-mechanical (MEM) resonators with deep sub-micron transduction gaps, on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrates. The MEM resonators are designed to work as bulk lateral resonators (BLR) in which the resonance of a suspended mass is excited and detected by lateral electrodes. For MEM BLRs, nano-scaled gaps (<200nm) are essential to reduce the motional resistance in the order of few kΩ as well as to avoid the use of large DC applied voltages. Only standard optical lithography with 1μm resolution and IC-compatible processing steps are employed to obtain 100-200nm wide gaps with very high aspect-ratios of more than [40:1], allowing the fabrication of high Q resonators for MHz to GHz operating frequency rang

THE NEED FOR CHALKING AND CHEMICAL FERTILIZERS APPLICATION ON THE ALBOTA ALBIC LUVISOL

A field experiment was carried out at SCDA Pitești, on an Albic Luvisol with a 25.0-25.2% clay content, with soy crop, Raluca TD variety. Seeds were treated with Bradyrhizobiumjaponicum, the density was 45-50 germinable grains/m2, and the distance between rows 50 cm. Fertilizers were applied during the vegetation cycle as follows: Dual 1 liter/ha, Décor 0,5 liters/ha, and Pulsar 1 liter/ha. The experimental design included 12 variants with the following chemical fertilizers doses: N0P0, N40P40, and N80P80. Agrocalcium (a product obtained by lime fine grinding, with a minimum 90% calcium carbonate content) and Doloflor (100% BIO fertilizer based on bitter spar with a minimum 50% calcium and magnesium oxide content) were used as chalking. Doloflor application as powder and granules in a 2.5 t/ha dose without N and P fertilization modified the soil reaction and pH registered values of 5.3-5.5, in the moderately acid reaction domain. Doloflor powder and granules in 2.5 t/ha dose together with N40P40 and N80P80 fertilizers doses determined very high mobile phosphorus content values (95-97 mg/kg). Mobile potassium contents in the analyzed variants are low ((100-125 mg/kg). Grain yield ranged from 1,483 to 2,053 kg/ha. The lowest yield resulted in the unfertilized and unlimed control. The highest values of grain yield were obtained when applying liming doses together with complex fertilizers

PROSTAGLANDIN F2α SUPPLEMENTED SEMEN IMPROVES LANDRACE BOARS SPERM MOTILITY

    Get PDF
This study investigated whether the sperm motility from Landrace boars improveswhen PGF2α (Dinolytic®; 5 mg PGF2α /ml) was added to diluted semen. Boars fromone large production unit, were manually collected; semen was either enriched withPGF2α (group 1, n=38), either untreated (group 2, n=32). Total volume of semencollected, percent of motility and number of obtained doses were recorded. Thehighest sperm volume collected from the two groups is corresponding to ejaculatesfrom Landrace boars with PGF2α supplemented semen (267.6 m)l. Regardingmotility, the sperm collected from Landrace boars with PGF2α supplemented semenwas higher from the one collected from Landrace boars with untreated semen(81.37%) and very significant differences were statistically determined. Theejaculates with highest number of obtained doses is corresponding to the onescollected from boars with PGF2α supplemented semen (25.21). Only boars from thefirst group (with PGF2α supplemented semen) showed motility over 70% and even100%. The untreated semen showed motility values around 65-70%

Study for a Comparative Analysis of Seasonal Microbial Load in Some Natural Salted Waters from Romania.

    Get PDF
The task of our studies was represented by the seasonal microbial load analysis from some Romanian natural salted water sources (springs and lakes) in order to check the requested conditions for their use as balneal treatment in a safe way. In order to check if the seasonal environmental factors can change the microbial load of some natural salted springs, a set of microbiological analyses were carried out at a laboratory level. Our study was focused on the next microbial groups: mesophilic bacteria growing at 22o C, mesophilic bacteria growing at 37o C, total number of coliform bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella sp. The methods used for this purpose were those recommended by the specialized standards. The obtained results were compared with the literature data and indicated the importance of keeping a safe area in the neighborhood of those natural water sources which are selected as balneal treatment resorts
