International students' networks: a case study in a UK university
The great influx of international students into UK universities has led to internationalisation becoming an important issue. Previous studies have focused on the integration of home and international students, illustrating a lack of intercultural interaction. Yet there has been a lack of research investigating international students' networks and how these networks evolve over time. The study reported in the current paper sought to fill this gap. The research findings were interpreted through the lens of community of practice (COP) and social networks (SN) theories. Findings confirmed that international students have four distinct types of network. The class did not evolve towards a single cohesive network, rather there were changing clusters of relationship. The findings showed that although co-national factors are important at the beginning of students' learning, they are not always the main influences shaping student networks. The findings are significant for both institutions and teachers
The Incidence of Lymphoma in Children in Gezira State During 2005-2014:A general Population-Based Study
Introduction: Lymphomas are the third most often diagnosed malignant neoplasm among children and adolescents. They constitute about 10-15% of childhood malignancies. We aimed to quantify incidence of Lymphomas (HD and NHD) in the Gezira State and their difference with gender and age. Methods: The data was abstracted and classified accordingly to the third revision of the International Classification of Childhood Cancer. Age-standardised rates (ASR) for three 5-year age groups (0–4 years, 5–9 years and 10–14 years) calculated for males and females.
Results: The total number of children diagnosed with lymphoma was 140 patients. NHL forms 75/140(53%) and HD 65/140(46%). Incidence of NHL was 6.68/million. Males with NHL was 48/75 (64%) with an ASR of 5.71/million and females 27/75(36%) with ASR of 4.04/million and a ratio of 1.7:1. The most common age group of presentation of NHL in males was 5-9 years of age, while in females was from 10-14 years of age. Incidence of HD was 4.22/million. Males constituted about 40/65 (62%) with an ASR of 4.72/million, while females were 25/65(38%) with ASR of 3.72 and males to females ratio of 1.6:1. The common age of presentation of HD in both males and females was 5-9 years of age.
In conclusion: The results presented in this study were similar with international results and comparable with them. Implemented analytical studies to clarify the different types of haematological malignancies will help to choose the right treatment and better cure. 
Collision strengths for nebular [O III] optical and infrared lines
We present electron collision strengths and their thermally averaged values for the nebular forbidden lines of the astronomically abundant doubly ionized oxygen ion, O2+, in an intermediate coupling scheme using the Breit–Pauli relativistic terms as implemented in an R-matrix atomic scattering code. We use several atomic targets for the R-matrix scattering calculations including one with 72 atomic terms. We also compare with new results obtained using the intermediate coupling frame transformation method. We find spectroscopically significant differences against a recent Breit–Pauli calculation for the excitation of the [O iii] λ4363 transition but confirm the results of earlier calculations

This study aims to determine the feasibility and income on Patchouli Oil Industry at the Village Lumbutarombo Donggala District of South Banawa. This research was conducted in the village of Lumbutarombo in September 2015. The determination of the respondents in this research was intentionally (purposive), selected respondents were higher rank staff and employees of Patchouli Oil Industry. The data used in this study derived from primary data and secondary data. The analysis was done for income and feasibility of this industry. The results showed that income per month patchouli oil industry was 15,950,375 IDR and the Patchouli Industry is feasible with 1.18 as R/C value
A Comparative Study on the Electrical Characteristics of Generating Plasma by Using Different Target Sources
In this research, the electrical characteristics of glow discharge plasma were studied. Glow discharge plasma generated in a home-made DC magnetron sputtering system, and a DC-power supply of high voltage as input to the discharge electrodes were both utilized. The distance between two electrodes is 4cm. The gas used to produce plasma is argon gas which flows inside the chamber at a rate of 40 sccm. The influence of work function for different target materials (gold, copper, and silver), - 5cm in diameter and around 1mm thickness - different working pressures, and different applied voltages on electrical characteristics (discharge current, discharge potential, and Paschen’s curve) were studied. The results showed that the discharge current and potential increase by increasing the applied voltage ranging between 300-700 V. Discharge current increased as working pressure increased in the beginning, and then semi-stabilized (slight increase) starting from 1×100 mbar, while discharge potential decreased at the beginning as working pressure increased and then semi-stabilized at the same point at which discharge current stabilized. The Paschen’s curves were compared with each other. It was concluded that the lower breakdown voltage was associated with lower work function of the (Au, Cu, and Ag) cathode material. Breakdown voltages were (395, 398, and 420) for Ag, Cu and Au respectively
Utilising semantic technologies for intelligent indexing and retrieval of digital images
The proliferation of digital media has led to a huge interest in classifying and indexing media objects for generic search and usage. In particular, we are witnessing colossal growth in digital image repositories that are difficult to navigate using free-text search mechanisms, which often return inaccurate matches as they in principle rely on statistical analysis of query keyword recurrence in the image annotation or surrounding text. In this paper we present a semantically-enabled image annotation and retrieval engine that is designed to satisfy the requirements of the commercial image collections market in terms of both accuracy and efficiency of the retrieval process. Our search engine relies on methodically structured ontologies for image annotation, thus allowing for more intelligent reasoning about the image content and subsequently obtaining a more accurate set of results and a richer set of alternatives matchmaking the original query. We also show how our well-analysed and designed domain ontology contributes to the implicit expansion of user queries as well as the exploitation of lexical databases for explicit semantic-based query expansion
Međudjelovanje četiri-razinskog atoma u impulsnom svojstvenom stanju s jednomodnim poljem
We study the interaction between a four-level atom (ladder type) in a momentum eigenstate with a single mode cavity field in the presence of non-linearities of both the field and the intensity-dependent coupling. The constants of motion and the wave function for the atomic system have been obtained. Special attention is given to discuss some statistical aspects of the considered atomic system such as momentum increment, momentum diffusion and high-order squeezing. The influence of the Kerr-like medium and the intensity dependent coupling on the momentum increment and the high-order squeezing are investigated numerically. It is found that addition of these parameters has an important effect on both the momentum increment and the squeezing phenomenon.Proučavamo međudjelovanje četiri-razinskog atoma (poput ljestvi) u impulsnom svojstvenom stanju s jednomodnim poljem u rezonatoru, uz nelinearnosti polja i vezanja ovisnog o intenzitetu. Izveli smo stalnice gibanja valne funkcije atomskog sustava. Posebnu smo pažnju posvetili raspravi o statističkim odlikama razmatranog atomskog sustava, kao što su povećanje i difuzija impulsa i zbijanje višeg reda. Numerički smo istražili utjecaj Kerrovog sredstva i vezanja ovisnog o intenzitetu na povećanje impulsa i zbijanje višeg reda. Našli smo da dodavanje tih parametara ima snažan učinak na povećanje impulsa i pojavu zbijanja
