The author analyses the concept of βpolitical genotypeβ as a structural element of political culture that determines its content and the possibility of allowable variations. Among the existing forms of political genotype in political culture, particular attention is given to the political myth. Defining political myth as the genotypic element of political culture, the author describes it as the system of historical images, including a collective memory of the nation storing a socio-political experience. The report also shows how archaic myths are fixed in the political traditions of society and then penetrate into the content of political culture. It is emphasized that in the conditions of crises, when the rational basis and motivation in the political sphere of life are being destroyed, the role of political myths in society strongly increases. Since in such historical periods the conscious regulation mechanisms give way to the βcollective unconsciousβ mechanisms of regulation. The special attention is given to the mythical structures, which influence the characteristics and particularities of the political culture of Russian society. Among our countryβs traditional archetypal images, but which are still current for contemporary political mentality, mythological stories about "national leader" as a defender of national interests and the welfare of all people are revealed. The author estimates the role and the place of Russian traditional myths about the interaction of government and society in maintaining βsubject" type of political culture. In conclusion, it is said that the "genetic code" of political culture is a projection from the psychological traits of the nation, which forms have been determined in the course of national historical development. Genetic mechanisms in transmission of political culture primarily reflect the processes of the conservation and reprodu ction of the historically formed specific psychological traits of the nation that are realized through the βcollective unconsciousβ and social memory
Pine seed germination under weightlessness (a study of the Kosmos 782 satellite)
Orientation of the above and underground organs of pine plants, grown from seeds under weightlessness, was found to be determined by seed position on the substrate. Normal plant growth was observed only if the seed embryos were oriented toward the substrate. Some differences were noted between the experimental and control plants concerning the amount of nucleoli in the root meristematic cells and the cell shape in cotyledonous leaves. No complete similarity was found in experimental results obtained with plants under weightlessness and under compensated gravity. The seeds were obtained from Pinus silvestris, considered to be particularly suitable for this experiment

Organizational Culture in Focus of Measurements
AbstractIn practical sociology the extensive experience of measuring organizational culture is obtained. But, up to now it remains unclear which method of research: either quantitative or qualitative is the most established, valid and reliable regarding an assessment of organizational culture. The authors represent the results of the pilot sociological research conducted on the basis of Cameron and Quinn's method in one of the Russian universities. The problem situation is connected with changing legal, economic conditions, norms and rules in the activity of universities under present reforms of higher education in Russia. Using the example of a researched unit of the university the authors make a hypothesis that such definition as organizational culture will allow to receive a strategic tool by means of which it will be possible to focus organization activity in total and each employee in particular on mobilizing, displaying initiative, searching resources and overcoming problems of adaptation to new conditions of development
