Majorana Fermion Quantum Mechanics for Higher Rank Tensors

We study quantum mechanical models in which the dynamical degrees of freedom are real fermionic tensors of rank five and higher. They are the non-random counterparts of the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) models where the Hamiltonian couples six or more fermions. For the tensors of rank five, there is a unique O(N)5O(N)^5 symmetric sixth-order Hamiltonian leading to a solvable large NN limit dominated by the melonic diagrams. We solve for the complete energy spectrum of this model when N=2N=2 and deduce exact expressions for all the eigenvalues. The subset of states which are gauge invariant exhibit degeneracies related to the discrete symmetries of the gauged model. We also study quantum chaos properties of the tensor model and compare them with those of the q=6q=6 SYK model. For q>6q>6 there is a rapidly growing number of O(N)q−1O(N)^{q-1} invariant tensor interactions. We focus on those of them that are maximally single-trace - their stranded diagrams stay connected when any set of q−3q-3 colors is erased. We present a general discussion of why the tensor models with maximally single-trace interactions have large NN limits dominated by the melonic diagrams. We solve the large NN Schwinger-Dyson equations for the higher rank Majorana tensor models and show that they match those of the corresponding SYK models exactly. We also study other gauge invariant operators present in the tensor models.Comment: 36 pages, 19 figures, 2 tables, v3: some clarifications and references adde

    Get PDF
Poetry is a form of creative art, through which many writers express their emotions, feelings, and also their bitter experiences to the world. Poetry, along with autobiography helped in the revelation of self, especially among African-Americans. Black women writers, in particular, have experienced many trials and tribulations while struggling for identity and freedom in the land of America. As women were considered inferior since the early period, their writings reflect deeply on their life stories and create a positive self-identity. Qualitative descriptive method is commonly used in the reviewed articles. This article examines the existing research on Angelou’s poems with the explored areas such as racism, gender issues, figurative analysis, feminism, stylistics, etc., and identifies the characteristics of self-portrait in them

Comparative Study of Public-key cryptosystems in Cloud Storage

Cloud storage is a service model in which data is maintained, managed and backed up remotely and made available to users over a network (typically the Internet). Cloud storage can provide the benefits of greater accessibility and reliability. In cloud storage different members can share that data through different virtual machines but present on single physical machine. But the thing is user don’t have physical control over the outsourced data. As a result there is a need of effective method to share data securely among different users. This can be achieved using cryptography, which helps in encrypting the data to be stored in cloud storage to protect against unauthorized access. Here we introduce a public-key cryptosystem which produce ciphertexts of constant size such a way that an systematic assignment of decryption virtue for any number of ciphertexts are possible. The modernity is that one can combine a set of secret keys and make them as mini single key with holding the same ability of all the keys that are formed in each group. This compact aggregate key can be efficiently sent to others or to be stored in a smart card with little secure storage. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.150314

Objective: Lipid-based formulations have gained much attention, particularly on self-emulsifying drug delivery systems (SEDDS), to improve the oral bioavailability of lipophilic drugs. In the present study, an attempt was made to develop and evaluate prototype SEDDS of poorly soluble antiviral BCS class IV drug etravirine. Methods: Various oils, surfactants and co-surfactants were screened for their suitability in the formulation of SEDDS. Based on the screening, gelucire 44/14, as the oil, labrasol as a surfactant and transcutol HP as the co-surfactant were selected. SEDDS with drug etravirine was formulated and evaluated for emulsifying ability, dilution potential and microscopic properties. The emulsion area for each of the combination of oil and surfactant co-surfactant mixture (Smix) was determined by the construction of pseudo-ternary phase diagrams. Results: The optimized formulation with oil (gelucire 44/14) and Smix (labrasol: transcutol HP, 6:1) in a ratio of 2:8 exhibited a rapid emulsification rate and a good polydispersibility index of 0.103±0.012 indicating uniformity of the formed droplets. The size of the droplets was determined by zetasizer and was found to be in 200 nm range. The drug release from the final formulation after 2hr was found to be 41.15%±0.5 compared to 19.3%±3.8 of pure drug indicating enhanced dissolution profile of the drug. Conclusion: In vitro study illustrated enhanced dissolution rate of formulated prototype SEDDS of BCS class IV drug etravirine for oral delivery

VizCom: A Novel Workflow Model for ICU Clinical Decision-Support

    Get PDF
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has the highest annual mortality rate (4.4M) of any hospital unit or 25% of all clinical admissions. Studies show a relationship between clinician cognitive load and workflow, and their impact on patient safety and the subsequent occurrence of medical mishaps due to diagnostic error - in spite of advances in health information technology, e.g., bedside and clinical decision support (CDS) systems. The aim of our research is to: 1) investigate the root causes (underlying mechanisms) of ICU error related to the effects of clinical workflow: medical cognition, team communication/collaboration, and the use of diagnostic/CDS systems and 2) construct and validate a novel workflow model that supports improved clinical workflow, with goals to decrease adverse events, increase safety, and reduce intensivist time, effort, and cognitive resources. Lastly, our long-term objective is to apply data from aims one and two to design the next generation of diagnostic visualization-communication (VizCom) system that improves intensive care workflow, communication, and effectiveness in healthcare

Objective: The rationale of the current research work was to formulate and evaluate fast-dissolving tablets of doxazosin mesylate with minimum disintegration time and improved dissolution efficiency using solid dispersion method. Methods: Solid dispersions of doxazosin mesylate and polyethylene glycol 8000 in different ratios were prepared using the kneading method. The prepared solid dispersions were subjected to drug interaction and dissolution studies to select the effective solid dispersion for the formulation of fast-dissolving tablets. Fast dissolving tablets containing drug-polyethylene glycol 8000 solid dispersion (1:3) were prepared using various super-disintegrants such as crospovidone, croscarmellose sodium, mixture and coprocessed crospovidone and croscarmellose sodium in concentration range of 2% and 5% by direct compression technique. The prepared formulations (F1–F16) were evaluated for post compression parameters; hardness, thickness, friability, wetting time, disintegration time, and in–vitro drug release. Results: Drug doxazosin mesylate showed enhanced aqueous solubility of 13.3µg/ml in the presence of polyethylene glycol 8000. Differential scanning calorimetery and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy studies confirmed no interaction between drug and polyethylene glycol 8000and, drug-polyethylene glycol 8000 solid dispersion showed cumulative drug release of 44.48% in 60 min. Formulated FDT of drug-polyethylene glycol 8000 solid dispersion, containing coprocessed mixture of crospovidone and croscarmellose sodium (5%) exhibited disintegration time of 14.5s with percentage cumulative release of 92.46% in 60 min. Conclusion: The work reasonably concludes that for the formulated doxazosin mesylate-fast dissolving tablets, disintegration time was effectively reduced by the presence of coprocessed mixture of crospovidone and croscarmellose sodium and dissolution efficiency was improved by preparation of solid dispersion with polyethylene glycol 8000
