Design principles for Bernal spirals and helices with tunable pitch

Using the framework of potential energy landscape theory, we describe two in silico designs for self-assembling helical colloidal superstructures based upon dipolar dumbbells and Janus-type building blocks, respectively. Helical superstructures with controllable pitch length are obtained using external magnetic field driven assembly of asymmetric dumbbells involving screened electrostatic as well as magnetic dipolar interactions. The pitch of the helix is tuned by modulating the Debye screening length over an experimentally accessible range. The second design is based on building blocks composed of rigidly linked spheres with short-range anisotropic interactions, which are predicted to self-assemble into Bernal spirals. These spirals are quite flexible, and longer helices undergo rearrangements via cooperative, hinge-like moves, in agreement with experiment

A bridgeless Cuk PFC converter

A bridgeless Power Factor Correction (PFC) circuit based on Cuk converter is proposed in this paper. The operation during each sub-interval modes of the converter operated in Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM) is discussed. The smallsignal and large signal models are presented using Current Injected Equivalent Circuit Approach (CIECA). PLECS/Simulink is used to verify the capability of the proposed converter to regulate the output voltage while the input current regulation is inherent. Penggunaan Media Internet Di Kalangan Remaja Untuk Mengembangkan Pemahaman Keislaman

Penelitian bertujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui cara remaja mencari informasi dan mengembangkan pemahaman tentang keislaman melalui media Internet. 2) mengetahui cara remaja mengukur kredibilitas sumber informasi di Internet. 3) mengetahui cara remaja mengolah dan mengaplikasikan informasi untuk mengembangkan pemahaman tentang keislaman yang diperoleh dari media Internet. Dengan menggunakan metodologi kuantitatif dan teknik Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dan Indepth Interview diperoleh jawaban terhadap kekuatan media sebagaimana digambarkan dalam Teori Teknologi Media oleh Barran dan Davis, bahwa media mempunyai pengaruh yang besar dalam mempengaruhi pola pikir audiensnya. Hasil penelitian mendapati bahwa jaringan internet memberikan pengaruh yang besar dalam membentuk pola pikir remaja, dan media intenet menentukan dan mengembangkan pemahaman mereka terhadap informasi yang mereka terima. Namun demikian didapati dalam kajian bahwa remaja yang mempunyai kepribadian yang baik dan tangguh tidak mudah diarahkan oleh media informasi, tetapi mereka dapat menentukan sendiri pandangan dan pemahaman mereka terhadap informasi yang diterima. Demikian halnya dalam mengembangkan pemahaman keagamaan dikalangan remaja adalah ditentukan oleh kepribadian, keterampilan dan pengetahuan dasar yang dimiliki remaja. Jadi pengetahuan dasar, pendidikan akhlak dan kepribadian yang baik adalah menjadi modal bagi remaja dalam mengembangkan pengetahuan mereka melalui jaringan internet

REGRESSION ANALYSIS OF PRODUCTIVITY USING MIXED EFFECT MODEL

Production plants of a company are located in several areas that spread across Middle and East Java. As the production process employs mostly manpower, we suspected that each location has different characteristics affecting the productivity. Thus, the production data may have a spatial and hierarchical structure. For fitting a linear regression using the ordinary techniques, we are required to make some assumptions about the nature of the residuals i.e. independent, identically and normally distributed. However, these assumptions were rarely fulfilled especially for data that have a spatial and hierarchical structure. We worked out the problem using mixed effect model. This paper discusses the model construction of productivity and several characteristics in the production line by taking location as a random effect. The simple model with high utility that satisfies the necessary regression assumptions was built using a free statistic software R version 2.6.1

The Sunda Wiwitan Cigugur AKUR community faces the possibility of expanding capital which can rob them of their customary land. In addition, it is also known that communal land in the AKUR Sunda Wiwitan Cigugur community can be owned by individuals and can be sold to buyers who are not actually members of the Sunda Wiur community of Wiwitan Cigugur. The method used in this study is sociological normative legal research. For data analysis, it is used with normative juridical analysis method. The author draws conclusions legal certainty by alternative / non-litigation resolution in the event of a conflict or dispute must heed legal principles and must pay attention to the principle of prosperity then the principle of security order and humanitarian principles among the community with the issue of indigenous peoples sunda wiwitan customary land AKUR in Cigugur Kuningan district.
