The modern development of society and the market relations that are formed in it, requires from a specialist of any profile and direction of training not only a high level of formation of General cultural and professional competencies, development of personal qualities and features that will contribute to success in professional activities, but also the desire to realize their potential, constantly improving themselves at the same time. In this regard, the system of higher professional education has fundamentally new goals and tasks related to the training and education of a specialist of the so-called “new format”. And it is the educational organization that today should create such conditions for each student that will promote their self-knowledge and disclosure, as well as a constant desire for self-learning, self-development and self-actualization. The purpose of the work is to study the self-actualization of the personality of students studying in the Humanities and technical areas during the entire period of study in the HPE system. In the theoretical aspect, various approaches to the study of self-actualization of the individual, including the student, are analyzed. During the research, we used theoretical and empirical methods. In order to identify the features of students’ self-actualization, we used the method of measuring the level of personal self-actualization (CAT), developed by L. Y. Gozman and M. V. Kroz. The analysis of the results shows that by the end of training in the HPE system, students of the Humanities and technical areas of training demonstrate indicators of self-actualization of the individual at different levels. Moreover, the level of self-actualization among students of the faculty of psychology is higher. In our opinion, significant positive changes in the self-actualizing personality of students of the faculty of psychology are the result of a well-organized learning process, as well as the search and finding of an individual approach to each of them. The practical significance of the work is that the results obtained can be used both in the practice of psychological services, and in the educational organization as a whole in the construction of the educational process.

Non-newtonian flow and pressure drop of pineapple juice in a plate heat exchanger

    Get PDF
The study of non-Newtonian flow in plate heat exchangers (PHEs) is of great importance for the food industry. The objective of this work was to study the pressure drop of pineapple juice in a PHE with 50º chevron plates. Density and flow properties of pineapple juice were determined and correlated with temperature (17.4 < T < 85.8ºC) and soluble solids content (11.0 < Xs < 52.4 ºBrix). The Ostwald-de Waele (power law) model described well the rheological behavior. The friction factor for non-isothermal flow of pineapple juice in the PHE was obtained for diagonal and parallel/side flow. Experimental results were well correlated with the generalized Reynolds number (20 < Re g < 1230) and were compared with predictions from equations from the literature. The mean absolute error for pressure drop prediction was 4% for the diagonal plate and 10% for the parallel plate.(FAPESP) São Paulo Research Foundatio

The relationship of parental education and the severity of fears

Research on the psychological characteristics of fears at different age stages of childhood is relevant, because it is fears that justify a number of psychological problems of preschoolers, including developmental disorders. The study of the features of the emotional sphere and its correction are unattainable without a clear understanding of the role of the family in the formation of the negative state of the child. The article analyzes the results of the study of the features of the dominant fears and their level indicators in children of older preschool age who are brought up in families with different types of parental education. The study tested the hypothesis that the degree of severity of fears in older preschoolers is determined by the type of family education, namely: unfavorable characteristics of education increase the severity of fears of older preschoolers, and favorable ones reduce. The sample of subjects includes 66 children aged 6 to 6.5 years. Of these, 35 are boys and 31 are girls. The adult sample consisted of 84 parents aged 25 to 35 years. The following methods were used as research tools: “Fears in houses” by A. I. Zakharov and M. A. Panfilova to identify and clarify the prevailing types of fears; “Strategies for family education” by S. S. Stepanov, modified by I. I. Mahonina, aimed at analyzing the prevailing styles of education in the family. As a result, of the study, statistically significant differences were found in the indicators of the severity of types of fears in preschool children of different sexes, as well as in the types of parental education. The results of the study can be useful in the practice of family counseling, for the development of correctional and developmental programs aimed at overcoming fears in children and correcting the style of parenting.

A Bose-Einstein Approach to the Random Partitioning of an Integer

Consider N equally-spaced points on a circle of circumference N. Choose at random n points out of NN on this circle and append clockwise an arc of integral length k to each such point. The resulting random set is made of a random number of connected components. Questions such as the evaluation of the probability of random covering and parking configurations, number and length of the gaps are addressed. They are the discrete versions of similar problems raised in the continuum. For each value of k, asymptotic results are presented when n,N both go to infinity according to two different regimes. This model may equivalently be viewed as a random partitioning problem of N items into n recipients. A grand-canonical balls in boxes approach is also supplied, giving some insight into the multiplicities of the box filling amounts or spacings. The latter model is a k-nearest neighbor random graph with N vertices and kn edges. We shall also briefly consider the covering problem in the context of a random graph model with N vertices and n (out-degree 1) edges whose endpoints are no more bound to be neighbors

Surface Quality Augmentation for Metalworking Industry with Pix2Pix

    Get PDF
Image augmentation has become an important part of the data preprocessing pipeline, helping to acquire more samples by altering existing samples by cutting, shifting, etc.. For some domains, augmenting existing images is not sufficient, due to missing samples in the domains (e.g., faulty work pieces or events that occur infrequently). In such a case, new samples must be generated, since images with surface quality defects are often rare occurrence in metalworking and the amount of samples even with standard augmentation techniques does not meet requirements to train a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for fault detection. This paper utilizes Pix2Pix for image augmentation to generate new images with surface quality defects. The approach allows specifying the kind of defect, location, and size and transforms images by adding new defects. Furthermore, metrics to evaluate the augmented images are discussed and a recommendation of the best performing metric within the domain of metalworking is given

A preferential attachment model with random initial degrees

    Get PDF
In this paper, a random graph process G(t)t1{G(t)}_{t\geq 1} is studied and its degree sequence is analyzed. Let (Wt)t1(W_t)_{t\geq 1} be an i.i.d. sequence. The graph process is defined so that, at each integer time tt, a new vertex, with WtW_t edges attached to it, is added to the graph. The new edges added at time t are then preferentially connected to older vertices, i.e., conditionally on G(t1)G(t-1), the probability that a given edge is connected to vertex i is proportional to di(t1)+δd_i(t-1)+\delta, where di(t1)d_i(t-1) is the degree of vertex ii at time t1t-1, independently of the other edges. The main result is that the asymptotical degree sequence for this process is a power law with exponent τ=min{τW,τP}\tau=\min\{\tau_{W}, \tau_{P}\}, where τW\tau_{W} is the power-law exponent of the initial degrees (Wt)t1(W_t)_{t\geq 1} and τP\tau_{P} the exponent predicted by pure preferential attachment. This result extends previous work by Cooper and Frieze, which is surveyed.Comment: In the published form of the paper, the proof of Proposition 2.1 is incomplete.
