Culture and Education: Value Orientations and Prospective Trends

The task of modern education is to ensure an acquisition of ‘skills and knowledge for the XXIth century’. This article explores a highly relevant issue of finding a way out of a crisis that has engulfed the Russian education. We envision the crisis of contemporary education as a crisis of values. The author reflects on the conditions required to establish new modes of education and the challenges we need to embrace. Museum As Information and Communicative Educational Institution

This article discusses new functions of museums and considers the role of a school museum as an information and communication space within an educational institution. The author presents a variety of genres of school museums and examines their communicative potential in the context of the culture of participation. It is important to note that a range of pedagogical challenges aimed at developing polycode texts in the museum space includes the students’ participation in the creation of a virtual museum. New forms of school museums (news Museum, mini-city Museum) and activities (art residence) are proposed. The activity of school Museum is viewed through the prism of informal education. Special attention is paid to using an interactive technology as an effective learning tool. The creation of a virtual school Museum acts as a new learning tool. Therefore, the author concludes that a school museum and its operation need examining from the perspective of informal education. Международный опыт создания объектов инновационной инфраструктуры как механизм развития инновационной экономики и повышения эффективности использования территорий

The paper was prepared by a postgraduate student of the 3rd year of study of the National Research University - Higher School of Economics within the conceptual framework of her current PhD dissertation project. The article reports original research results and examines the issues of the concept of formation and activity of science and technology parks as some of the key objects of innovation infrastructure. Through the analysis of the world practice of industrial and university areas’ redevelopment, the main models of technopark structures’ formation have been identified as well as basic forms and characteristics of modern science and technology parks and the conditions for their effective functioning. Cultural studies: institutional crisis or the time of strategic decisions

The aim of this investigation is to signify of the problems of cultural studies as a science and educational practice in a situation of modernization of education. The publication continues the discussion started at the alignment meeting of Heads of Cultural Studies Departments in Russia – «The science of culture and cultural education: time for strategic decisions». Methods. The author has applied the following methods: analysis of existing points of view; reflection of the essence of the cultural knowledge and perspectives of cultural development of cultural studies science in Russia. Results. The research outcomes show that cultural studies in modern Russia are experiencing institutional crisis: insufficient definiteness and awareness by experts and publicity due to places and roles of culturological disciplines in educational process, but also the methodological bases of activity of culturologists. Aspects of culturological formation are considered and prospects of its development are specified. It was proposed to continue the discussion started at the alignment meeting of Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, and it will give an option to discuss the solution ways of current recessionary situation more fundamentally and subjectively on territory-regional level. Scientific novelty. The approaches to understanding the culture as areas of scientific knowledge are methodized; the areas of cultural education in the conditions of modernization are summarized. Practical significance. The research implementations can be used while improving the theoretical-methodological component of cultural education, and extending the horizons for topical current research works in the field of cultural studies Цель публикации – обсуждение состояния культурологии как области науки и образовательной практики в ситуации модернизации образования. Статья продолжает дискуссию, начатую на совещании-семинаре заведующих кафедрами культурологии в России «Науки о культуре и культурологическое образование: время стратегических решений». Методы, использованные автором работы, – анализ существующих точек зрения по рассматриваемой теме; рефлексия сущности культурологического знания, недавнего прошлого, настоящего и будущего культурологического образования в России. Результаты. Вскрыты причины институционального кризиса культурологии в нашей стране, среди которых называются недостаточные определенность и осознанность как специалистами, так и общественностью не только места и роли культурологических дисциплин в образовательном процессе, но и методологических оснований деятельности культурологов. Рассмотрены аспекты культурологического образования и обозначены перспективы его развития. Выдвинуто предложение продолжить дискуссию, начатую на совещании-семинаре в Российском государственном педагогическом университете им. А. И. Герцена, но уже на территориально-региональном уровне, что позволит более глубоко и предметно обсудить пути выхода из сложившегося кризисного состояния. Научная новизна: систематизированы подходы к пониманию культурологии как сферы научного знания, обобщены направления дальнейшего становления и совершенствования культурологического образования. Практическая значимость.
