The aim of this study is to the examination of teacher candidates' selfishness levels regarding sportive activity and different variables the study was conducted on 295 teacher candidates, 109 female and 186 male, who were educated in Erzurum Ataturk University, Kazim Karabekir faculty of education, in 2018-2019 academic year and voluntarily participated in the research. In the study, “The Selfishness Questionnaire: Egocentric, Adaptive, and Pathological Forms of Selfishness " was used which was developed by Adrian and Uh (2018) adapted to Turkish and analyzed for reliability and validity by Yılmaz (2018). Frequency analysis was used to determine demographic characteristics, and T test was used to examine the relationship between two independent variables and selfishness, analysis of variance was used to examine the relationship between more than two variables and selfishness. When the findings of the study were evaluated, it was seen that the pathological selfishness levels of female students were lower than male students. As a result of the findings, it is noticeable that the level of selfishness increases in parallel as the age level increases. The remarkable result here is, the level of selfishness increases in parallel as the time to do sportive activity increases. It is thought that, for students, sporting activity in their daily lives makes possible to increase their interaction with other students and therefore to focus on team or group goals rather than personal goals

Impact of global recession on selected OECD countries : a panel data analysis

The tax burden on wages, profits, property, and goods or services has a serious impact on cross-country competiveness, something that, in turn, impinges strongly on the actual economy of common markets such as the European Union (EU). While the mobility of productive factors is directly related with country tax-regime differences, government budget funding from tax revenues and rates are the main fiscal policy tools. This article analyzes the trends, similarities and differences between the tax regimes of European Monetary Union (EMU) for the period from 1995 to 2019. The methodologies we employ include time series analysis, regression analysis and multivariate cluster analysis. The data are mainly collected from the OECD database and tax revenue departments at country level. We argue that there are significant differences among the tax regimes of EU countries and that no policy has been implemented to ensure tax homogeneity across the EU, nor is there any likelihood of such. The anarchy in fiscal policy is an obstacle for the European Integration. Budget deficits have an impact on taxation and countries, invariably, manage the recent debt crisis by selecting different taxes as fiscal policy tools. Our article presents the differences between tax regimes of EMU countries and shows that the level of economic growth affects the structure of taxes at work and alters the performance of different types of taxes; is also wishes to explain the factors that differentiate tax regimes by using multi dimensional criteria and variance analysis. Our work contributes to the debate toward a common tax regime between EU countries and our analysis is concentrated on this.peer-reviewe

Encapsulating and representing the knowledge on the evaluation of an engineering system

    Get PDF
This paper proposes a cross-disciplinary methodology for a fundamental question in product development: How can the innovation patterns during the evolution of an engineering system (ES) be encapsulated, so that it can later be mined through data mining analysis methods? Reverse engineering answers the question of which components a developed engineering system consists of, and how the components interact to make the working product. TRIZ answers the question of which problem-solving principles can be, or have been employed in developing that system, in comparison to its earlier versions, or with respect to similar systems. While these two methodologies have been very popular, to the best of our knowledge, there does not yet exist a methodology that reverseengineers and encapsulates and represents the information regarding the complete product development process in abstract terms. This paper suggests such a methodology, that consists of mathematical formalism, graph visualization, and database representation. The proposed approach is demonstrated by analyzing the design and development process for a prototype wrist-rehabilitation robot

Prediction, prevention and personalisation of medication for the prenatal period: genetic prenatal tests for both rare and common diseases

    Get PDF
Genetic testing usually helps physicians to determine possible genetic diseases in unborn babies, genetic disorders of patients and the carriers who might pass the mutant gene on to their children. They are performed on blood, tissues or other body fluids. In recent years, the screening tests and diagnostic tests have improved quickly and, as a result, the risks of pregnancy can be determined more commonly and physicians can diagnose several genetic disorders in the prenatal period. Detecting the abnormalities in utero enables correct management of the pregnancy, prenatal and postnatal medical care, and it is also important for making well informed decisions about continuing or terminating a pregnancy. Besides the improvements of conventional invasive diagnostic tests, the discovery of circulating cell-free foetal nucleic acids in maternal plasma has developed a new point of view for non-invasive prenatal diagnosis recently

In the current professional environment with the globalizing world, the companies are constantly in a competition with one another in order to survive. The companies in this globalizing world need to give close attention to the customer's demands in order to be ahead of the competition. The increasing pressure from global competition, the rapidly and constantly changing customer demands and the race to uphold these demands rapidly, and effectively, the limited nature of financial and non-financial resources has led the companies to form business partnerships with supply chains. Trust is the leading psychological factor in any kind of social relationship and it’s indispensable in collaborative relationships as well. In this study, the effect of trust in the supply chain on the performance of the company is examined

AbstractFeedback from the sectors about the efficiency of accounting education is very important for accounting educators and academicians. This kind of feedback enables to include the issues into the curriculum that are needed by the business. So the feedbacks from accounting professionals about the efficiency of the accounting courses in faculties, if they are attuned to practice and the courses that should be included in the curriculum are also important for the quality and future of the accounting education. The aim of this study is to present the opinions and expectations of certified public accountants operate in Antalya and registered in chamber of public accountants of Antalya about the current situation of the accounting education in universities. A likert type survey is prepared and the results of the survey are analyzed in SPSS package program and results are discussed. Results show that, accountants think that students don’ graduate with sufficient accounting knowledge. Accounting lessons aren’ sufficient to meet the needs of companies and to understand the accounting procedures and financial structures of the companies. Recommendations according to the results will be useful for the development of the accounting education

The autonomic innervation of the testicular parenchyma: a rat model

The specific roles and direct involvements of autonomic innervations on the spermatogenic process are poorly understood. The aim of this study was to investigate stereologically the relative importance of sympathetic innervations in testicular parenchyma rats in chemically sympathectomized with guanethidine. Treated animals (n=10) were injected intraperitoneally with guanethidine at doses of 10mg/kg/day for 15 days while control animals (n= 5) received an equivalent volume of saline. After routine histological procedures, 5μm thick sections of the testes were selected for examination. Organ volumes were estimated using the Cavalieri Principle of volume measurement by means of consecutive serial sections, using “J Images” software in a computer. At least 10 seminiferous tubules were selected randomly and measured per cross section for evaluation of epithelial heights, luminal diameter and total seminiferous tubule diameter. Testicular volumes and seminiferous tubule measurements of treated animals were found to be affected by the chemical sympathectomy with guanethidine with a a statistically significant difference between experimental and control group (p<0.01). Our findings indicate that chemical sympathectomy with-short term low dose guanethidine might display morphometric changes in the rat testis which indicate the presence of autonomic innervation of its parenchyma

Next-generation vehicles will undoubtedly feature biometric person recognition as part of an effort to improve the driving experience. Today's technology prevents such systems from operating satisfactorily under adverse conditions. A proposed framework for achieving person recognition successfully combines different biometric modalities, borne out in two case studies
