    На основе минералогических, изотопных и термобарогеохимических исследований прослежена эволюция сульфидной системы от исходных метаморфогенных до гидротермально-метасоматических ассоциаций. В рамках этой эволюции проведено сопоставление изотопного состава серы магнитных и немагнитных пирротинов.На основі мінералогічних, ізотопних і термобарогеохімічних досліджень простежено еволюцію сульфідної системи від вихідних метаморфогенних до гідротермально- метасоматичних асоціацій.     Effects of Meal Frequency on Metabolic Profiles and Substrate Partitioning in Lean Healthy Males

    The daily number of meals has an effect on postprandial glucose and insulin responses, which may affect substrate partitioning and thus weight control. This study investigated the effects of meal frequency on 24 h profiles of metabolic markers and substrate partitioning.Twelve (BMI:21.6 ± 0.6 kg/m(2)) healthy male subjects stayed after 3 days of food intake and physical activity standardization 2 × 36 hours in a respiration chamber to measure substrate partitioning. All subjects randomly received two isoenergetic diets with a Low meal Frequency (3 ×; LFr) or a High meal Frequency (14 ×; HFr) consisting of 15 En% protein, 30 En% fat, and 55 En% carbohydrates. Blood was sampled at fixed time points during the day to measure metabolic markers and satiety hormones.Glucose and insulin profiles showed greater fluctuations, but a lower AUC of glucose in the LFr diet compared with the HFr diet. No differences between the frequency diets were observed on fat and carbohydrate oxidation. Though, protein oxidation and RMR (in this case SMR + DIT) were significantly increased in the LFr diet compared with the HFr diet. The LFr diet increased satiety and reduced hunger ratings compared with the HFr diet during the day.The higher rise and subsequently fall of insulin in the LFr diet did not lead to a higher fat oxidation as hypothesized. The LFr diet decreased glucose levels throughout the day (AUC) indicating glycemic improvements. RMR and appetite control increased in the LFr diet, which can be relevant for body weight control on the long term.ClinicalTrials.gov NCT01034293

    Intraduodenal Administration of Intact Pea Protein Effectively Reduces Food Intake in Both Lean and Obese Male Subjects

    BACKGROUND: Human duodenal mucosa secretes increased levels of satiety signals upon exposure to intact protein. However, after oral protein ingestion, gastric digestion leaves little intact proteins to enter the duodenum. This study investigated whether bypassing the stomach, through intraduodenal administration, affects hormone release and food-intake to a larger extent than orally administered protein in both lean and obese subjects. METHODS: Ten lean (BMI:23.0±0.7 kg/m²) and ten obese (BMI:33.4±1.4 kg/m²) healthy male subjects were included. All subjects randomly received either pea protein solutions (250 mg/kg bodyweight in 0.4 ml/kg bodyweight of water) or placebo (0.4 ml/kg bodyweight of water), either orally or intraduodenally via a naso-duodenal tube. Appetite-profile, plasma GLP-1, CCK, and PYY concentrations were determined over a 2 h period. After 2 h, subjects received an ad-libitum meal and food-intake was recorded. RESULTS: CCK levels were increased at 10(p<0.02) and 20(p<0.01) minutes after intraduodenal protein administration (IPA), in obese subjects, compared to lean subjects, but also compared to oral protein administration (OPA)(p<0.04). GLP-1 levels increased after IPA in obese subjects after 90(p<0.02) to 120(p<0.01) minutes, compared to OPA. Food-intake was reduced after IPA both in lean and obese subjects (-168.9±40 kcal (p<0.01) and -298.2±44 kcal (p<0.01), respectively), compared to placebo. Also, in obese subjects, food-intake was decreased after IPA (-132.6±42 kcal; p<0.01), compared to OPA. CONCLUSIONS: Prevention of gastric proteolysis through bypassing the stomach effectively reduces food intake, and seems to affect obese subjects to a greater extent than lean subjects. Enteric coating of intact protein supplements may provide an effective dietary strategy in the prevention/treatment of obesity

The developmental processes involved in these attentional difficulties are not well understood. Using a data-driven approach, 2 samples (N = 294 and 412) of infants at elevated and typical likelihood of autism were grouped according to profiles of parent report of attention at 10, 15 and 25 months. In contrast to the normative profile of increases in attentional control scores between infancy and toddlerhood, a minority (7–9%) showed plateauing attentional control scores between 10 and 25 months. Consistent with pre-registered hypotheses, plateaued growth of attentional control was associated with elevated autism and ADHD traits, and lower adaptive functioning at age 3 years

    Deposition in the Distal Parts of the Bovine Respiratory Tract: Assessment of Equipment Suitable for Drug Inhalation

    The efficiency of equipment suitable for the inhalation of drugs by calves was assessed in six animals which inhaled radioisotopically labelled particles while suffering from reversible diffuse bronchoconstriction induced experimentally with 5-hydroxytryptamine and while they were breathing normally. Respiratory rates and data from pulmonary function tests and scintiscans were recorded during both investigations. After the first investigation, a mean (se) wash-out period of 9.8 (3.2) days was allowed. Under diffuse bronchoconstriction, the respiratory rate, the oscillatory resistance and the compliance of the respiratory system reached 282.1 (22.0), 161.1 (10.8) and 68.8 (2.7) per cent of their respective baseline values. When the calves were breathing normally these parameters did not change over time. The ratios (Cp/Ct) of the counts of gamma-disintegrations in the peripheral part (Cp) of the lungs and in the total lung area (Ct) were not significantly different when comparing the results from the two investigations. The ratios of Cp/Ct in the left lungs did not differ significantly from those in the right lungs

    Aerosol Deposition in Equine Lungs Following Ultrasonic Nebulisation Versus Jet Aerosol Delivery System

    Therapeutic aerosols pay an increasing role in the treatment of equine respiratory disorders. This route of delivery permits concentration of significant amounts of drugs at the site of action without unwanted high systemic concentration and resultant side effects. The efficiency of such a topical therapy depends on the quantity of inhaled drugs deposited in the lungs and, for some drugs, on the proportion retained in specific parts of the lungs. The objective of this study was to define and to compare quantitative (dose deposited) and qualitative (regional distribution) deposition of an aerosol in the equine lungs, using either a ultrasonic nebuliser (UN) currently used in human medicine or a high pressure jet nebuliser (JN) especially developed for the equine species. This comparison was possible owing to gamma-scintigraphy, a noninvasive technique ideally suited to give information about both total and regional deposition of inhaled drugs in the respiratory tract. The quantitative study did not point out any difference between the 2 systems concerning the activity released from the nebuliser proportionally to the initial loaded dose (mean +/- s.d. 45.95 +/- 4.93% for the UN vs. 46.47 +/- 8.49% for the JN). By contrast, the percentage of the dose released reaching the lungs was significantly lower with the UN compared to the JN (5.09 +/- 0.66% vs. 7.35 +/- 1.96%). The qualitative analysis did not show any significant difference in size of aerosol deposition image between the 2 nebulisers. However peripheral deposition was significantly higher with JN compared to UN. In conclusion, both nebulisers may be used for aerosol therapy in the equine species. The ultrasonic and pneumatic nebulisation achieved drug deposition in the peripheral part of the lungs (i.e. small airways and lung parenchyma)

    Is It Fear?: Similar Brain Responses to Fearful and Neutral Faces in Infants with a Heightened Likelihood for Autism Spectrum Disorder

    Individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) show atypical processing of facial expressions. Research with autistic toddlers suggests that abnormalities in processing of spatial frequencies (SFs) contribute to such differences. The current event-related-potential (ERP) study investigated differences between 10-month-old infants with high- and low-likelihood for ASD in SF processing and in discrimination of fearful and neutral faces, filtered to contain specific SF. Results indicate no group differences in general processing of higher (HSF, detailed) and lower-SF (LSF, global) information. However, unlike low-likelihood infants, high-likelihood infants do not discriminate between facial expressions when either the LSF or HSF information is available. Combined with previous findings in toddlers, the current results indicate a developmental delay in efficient processing of facial expressions in ASD
