    Get PDF
In the competitive world of customer’ choice, the product are not available at good value-for-money and long lasting. Researchers much focus on Time and Cost aspect of a project but not on the Quality and on achieving Excellence. Project Quality is the philosophy of the adherence of standards throughout the life cycle of a project while Project Excellence is the delivery of sustainable outcomes to key stakeholders during the life cycle of the project, particularly during the final closure stage. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to see the influence of Operational Quality concepts and applications (such as Supply Chain Management, Lean Thinking, and Total Quality Management) on achieving Project Excellence in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) related projects

The purpose of this study is to describe the relationship between stock returns and macroeconomic variables. In this review paper we write the review of fourteen papers related to the relationship between stock returns and macroeconomic variables. However different papers shown different results but we tried to summarize these results in best manner. Two long run relationships were found. In the long run inflation has a negative relationship with stock returns but industrial production index, real affective exchange rate, and money supply has a positive relationship with stock returns. Keywords: Stock returns, macroeconomic variable

Innovative unidirectional recycled carbon fiber tape structure for high performance thermoplastic composites: technological developments, technology-structure-property relationship and modeling of composite tensile properties

The rapidly growing demand for carbon fiber reinforced plastics in high-tech industries, such as aerospace, defense, automotive, wind turbine engineering, building and sports, resulted in a high amount of waste in the form of dry waste (e.g., production off-cuts), wet waste (e.g., out-of-date prepreg) and end-of-life components waste (e.g., aircraft components). Furthermore, the production of carbon fibers is cost and energy-intensive. Therefore, technological developments for the gentle processing of recycled carbon fiber and its integration into high-performance composites with promising tensile properties have gained considerable attention. Consequently, injection molding, nonwovens and hybrid yarn technologies were developed in recent years to integrate recycled carbon fiber into the high-performance thermoplastic composite. It is unfortunate that these technologies develop composites with a lack of unidirectional fiber orientation; therefore, the potential of recycled carbon fiber in high-performance composites is not thoroughly exhausted. This thesis primarily addresses the development of an innovative structure with a unidirectional fiber orientation termed “unidirectional recycled carbon fiber tape structure” for high-performance thermoplastics composites. The technological concept of the unidirectional structure comprises fiber opening, carding, drawing and a novel tape-forming process. In this concept, fiber opening, carding, and drawing processes were utilized to develop homogeneous, uniform, and highly oriented hybrid slivers. In the next step, these hybrid slivers were converted into a unidirectional recycled carbon fiber tape structure through a novel tape-forming process. To implement this concept, technological developments (investigations, modifications, optimization and further developments), were carried out in fiber opening, carding and drawing processes to develop a hybrid sliver with improved uniformity, homogeneity and unidirectional orientation. In the second phase, conception, design, technological developments, construction and prototype development were implemented to develop a novel tape-forming process. The result confirms that tape development technology comprising fiber opening, carding, drawing and prototype tape forming processes is an innovative, eco-friendly and sustainable technology compared to existing technologies. Furthermore, the consolidation process transformed the unidirectional tape structure into high-performance thermoplastic composites. Subsequently, technology-structure-property relationships were established to develop composites with tailor-made properties. The analysis reveals that selecting optimum technological, consolidation and structural parameters develop tape and composite structures with unidirectional fiber orientation. As a result, experimental results of a high-performance composite developed from a unidirectional recycled carbon fiber tape structure show a very high tensile strength of 1350 ± 28 MPa and an E-module of 84.7 ± 2.3 GPa. This analysis confirms that unidirectional fibers configuration in composites brings a revolution toward developing cost-efficient, high-performance composites for load-bearing structural applications. Finally, theoretical and finite element modeling of tensile properties of high-performance composites reveals that modified models show good agreement with composite tensile properties

This study analyzes the impact of different governance related variables on the corporate governance disclosure level of Pakistani manufacturing firms. The study period is one year i.e. 2014 and it used a sample of 50 manufacturing firms which are classified into five different categories. The analyses are done through OLS regression. A comprehensive disclosure index consisting the thirty different disclosure items is developed which served as dependent variable. Thirty disclosure items are included in the index according to the disclosure requirements of SECP code of corporate governance. Board independence, managerial ownership, foreign ownership, block holdings and audit firm status are used as corporate governance related independent variables. The results indicate that the CG disclosure level of selected manufacturing firms is positively influenced by board independence, foreign ownership, block holding ownership and audit firm status. However the results of managerial ownership variable are not statically significant and the hypothesis regarding to this variable is rejected. The study found that all the independent variables except managerial ownership are the important determinants of CG disclosure. Keywords: CGD, INDE’s, SEC

To determine the current door-to-needle time for the administration of fibrinolytics for acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in emergency room. Methods: In this cross sectional study patients presenting with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) were included. Time interval from patient’s presentation to administration of streptokinase to the patient, was calculated . The total door-to-needle time was calculated and patient demographics and presentation, physician’s experience, clinical symptomology and reasons for delays in thrombolytic administration were analysed. Results: Sixty six patients, presented with AMI, were given streptokinase. Out of these, 6% received streptokinase within 15 minutes of arrival in emergency, 22.7%received streptokinase in 30 minutes, 33.33% received thrombolytic agent in 45 minutes, 27.27% received thrombolytic therapy in 60 minutes, and 10.7% received thrombolytic therapy in 90 minutes. The mean door to needle time calculated was 44.8 minutes. Patients receiving reperfusion therapy within 30 minutes were 28.7%.Conclusion: A significant number of patients were not thrombolysed within 30 minutes of presentation. The non-availability of senior doctors, difficulty in interpreting ECGs, atypical presentations and ER system delays, prolonged the door-to-needle time in this stud

The study is held to observe the impact of Management including Management levels and decision making on the growth of small firms. Study area is Punjab (Pakistan). Small firms have no proper firm structure; they do not follow the formal rules to run the organization. Inspite of this, these firms are growing rapidly. If these firms have effective management levels and rational decision making than the firms will grow rapidly. The results show a significant increase in growth by using rational decision making and having effective management levels. Statistical results show that if we spend 1% on independent variable, then it shows an 80% increase in dependent variable. Keywords: Small firm; Management; Growth; Decision makin
