Development of Student Worksheets (LKPD) to Measure Student Creativity
This research is a development research which aims to develop valid project based learning worksheets, practical project based learning worksheets, effective project based learning worksheets for measuring creativity. The subjects of this research trial were 32 students of class XI MIPA 2 SMAN 3 Polewali. This study uses the development of a 4-D model. The instruments used in this study were LKPD validation sheets, practitioner response questionnaires (educators/teachers), creativity test instruments and non-creativity test instruments (cognitive dimension creativity assessment sheets, affective dimension creativity questionnaires, psychomotor dimension creativity assessment sheets). LKPD eligibility criteria seen from the aspect of validity. The practicality criteria are seen from practitioners' assessment of LKPD, and the effectiveness criteria are seen from the level of creativity of students after being given project-based learning LKPD. Based on the results of the analysis, it was concluded that the developed project based learning LKPD, based on expert judgment using Aiken V index analysis, obtained a V value of 0.77 meaning that the LKPD was declared valid and feasible to use with minor revisions, then the project based learning based LKPD in terms of response physics teacher practitioners obtained an average score of 3.5 meaning that the LKPD is in the very good category and the effectiveness of project based learning LKPD is seen from the results of the analysis of student creativity, after being analyzed it is found that the average percentage of students' creativity scores on the cognitive dimension is 78.22%, the average percentage of creativity in the affective dimension is 79.25%, and the average percentage of creativity in the psychomotor dimension is 77.50% so that it can be said that the project based learning worksheets developed are effective for measuring student creativity because they have the average creativity score is above 75%
Modelo de desarrollo curricular para el curso de identidad corporativa transcultural en el programa de diseño gráfico
This study aims to develop a curriculum development model for cross-cultural corporate identity course for Graphic Design programme in higher education institution. The cross-cultural component in this study is based on local cultural contexts from ethnic groups in Peninsular Malaysian, Sabah and Sarawak. At present, the study on curriculum development which includes cross culture in the teaching of graphic design in the local contexts is lacking. Furthermore, there are insufficient studies done to evaluate students’ cross-cultural competence in the context of formal education institution. Unfortunately, even though the practice of cross-cultural design is increasingly recognised, research on the design of the corporate identity curriculum is still lacking. Therefore, the objective of this study is to present a framework for a curriculum development model for cross-cultural corporate identity course for diploma in graphic design programme which include three key components: (1) identify the key components in curriculum model development, (2) outline and develop a curriculum model and (3) evaluate its feasibility based on cross-cultural in the process of learning creative corporate identity for the education of graphic design art. The Design and Developmental Research model is applied to develop such a model. The conceptual model proposed in this study outline three main aspects - namely (1) to put forward and establish the need to create the cross-cultural model of corporate identity of graphic design arts in the local higher learning institutions which is concurrent with the demands of current academic and creative industries, (2) design and development phase and (3) evaluation and usability phase. The development of the cross-cultural curriculum model is a guide for diploma lecturers in the education of graphic design arts to facilitate the implementations of project-based teaching and learning to be more responsive by applying local and cultural elements in the product designs. Knowing local cultures is a great way to encourage future diploma graduate graphic designers to produce more product designs with quality attributes such as being authentic, and highlighting locally-produced graphics which then have the potential to flourish globally.Este estudio tiene como objetivo desarrollar un modelo de desarrollo curricular para un curso de identidad corporativa intercultural para el programa de Diseño Gráfico en una institución de educación superior. El componente intercultural en este estudio se basa en contextos culturales locales de grupos étnicos en Malasia peninsular, Sabah y Sarawak. En la actualidad, falta el estudio sobre el desarrollo curricular que incluye la cultura cruzada en la enseñanza del diseño gráfico en los contextos locales. Además, no hay suficientes estudios realizados para evaluar la competencia intercultural de los estudiantes en el contexto de la institución de educación formal. Desafortunadamente, a pesar de que la práctica del diseño intercultural es cada vez más reconocida, todavÃa falta investigación sobre el diseño del plan de estudios de identidad corporativa. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este estudio es presentar un marco para un modelo de desarrollo curricular para un curso de identidad corporativa intercultural para un diploma en programa de diseño gráfico que incluya tres componentes clave: (1) identificar los componentes clave en el desarrollo del modelo curricular, (2 ) esbozan y desarrollan un modelo curricular y (3) evalúan su viabilidad basada en la cultura intercultural en el proceso de aprendizaje de la identidad corporativa creativa para la educación del arte del diseño gráfico. El modelo de Diseño e Investigación del Desarrollo se aplica para desarrollar dicho modelo. El modelo conceptual propuesto en este estudio esboza tres aspectos principales: (1) presentar y establecer la necesidad de crear el modelo intercultural de identidad corporativa de las artes del diseño gráfico en las instituciones locales de educación superior que sea concurrente con las demandas de industrias académicas y creativas actuales, (2) fase de diseño y desarrollo y (3) fase de evaluación y usabilidad. El desarrollo del modelo curricular intercultural es una guÃa para los profesores con diploma en la educación de las artes del diseño gráfico para facilitar la implementación de la enseñanza y el aprendizaje basados ​​en proyectos para ser más receptivos mediante la aplicación de elementos locales y culturales en los diseños de productos. Conocer las culturas locales es una excelente manera de alentar a los futuros diseñadores gráficos graduados de diplomas a producir más diseños de productos con atributos de calidad como ser auténticos y resaltar gráficos producidos localmente que luego tienen el potencial de prosperar a nivel mundial
Industry 4.0 Readiness of Technology Companies: A Pilot Study from Malaysia
Industry 4.0 has the potential to cause both evolutionary (operational) and revolutionary (strategic) changes, but assessing the readiness of companies towards Industry 4.0 has largely been a challenge. Industry 4.0 readiness is also important as it is the first step for companies that want to adopt Industry 4.0 technologies. This paper pilot surveys 100 technology companies in Malaysia to understand their overall readiness towards Industry 4.0. In particular, this research paper contributes to the assessment of Industry 4.0 readiness in terms of seven key areas: (i) Market pressure, (ii) risk-taking, (iii) knowledge, (iv) management support, (v) competencies, (vi) motivation and (vii) freedom. These findings can act as stepping stones for managers and companies that are aiming towards the implementation of Industry 4.0 readiness
Preliminary Research on Prospective Teacher’s Ability in Understanding the Physics Problems
Abstract. Understanding problem is an essential stage of problem solving skills. A preliminary research about problem solving skill (especially on understanding the question) in physics instruction was significantly important. Prospective physics teachers have to comprehend the problems by sketching the situation prior to solve it. It would make prospective teachers skilled at problem solving. The purpose of this study was to analyze prospective teachers’ ability in understanding physics problem by sketching. It was an initial study for the further developing research about applying metacognitive strategies to increase the teacher candidates’ problem solving skill in physics classrooms. The sample of this study was physics education class of 2018 who had taken the fundamental physics course, amounting to 35. Data was analyzed by using qualitative-descriptive method. To sum up, the findings of this study are; prospective physics teachers had difficulty comprehending the problems and sketching the problems’ situation. Hence, it is suggested to apply a learning strategy which trains the prospective teachers’ skills in problem solving. Comparison between satellite-derived rainfall and rain gauge observation over Peninsular Malaysia
Validation of the bias-corrected product of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Climate Prediction Centre Morphing Technique CMORPH-CRT was conducted using gridded rain gauge dataset of Wong et al. (2011) and rain gauge data from meteorological stations throughout Peninsular Malaysia. The CMORPH-CRT was compared for four contrasting topographic sub-regions of Peninsular Malaysia, i.e. west coast (WC), foothills of Titiwangsa range (FT), inland-valley (IN) and east coast (EC). CMORPH-CRT product with grid resolution of 8 km × 8 km at temporal resolution of 1-hour from 00Z January 1998 to 23Z December 2018 was utilized. The results show that CMORPH-CRT are in agreement with the rain gauge data. The CMORPH-CRT performed best over coastal sub-regions but it underestimated over FT sub-region and overestimated at IN. CMORPH-CRT tend to perform better in moderate rather than heavy rainfall events. For extreme weather events, the CMORPH-CRT had shown capability in observing the formation and decay of low-pressure system in Penang during 4th November 2017 and it is in agreement with rain gauge based SPI index i.e. drought conditions over Peninsular Malaysia
Liquidity risk underlying debt financing and economic condition: A Panel data analysis of Islamic Bank in Malaysia
The objective of this paper is to analyze the determinants of Islamic bank liquidity risk in Malaysia with special focus on debt financing. Based on this objective, this study utilized unbalanced panel dataset of 17 Islamic banks in Malaysia over the period 1998-2012.The method use is this study is panel data regression analysis. The results show that the level of capital is significant with the liquidity risk.For debt
financing variable, the results signify that the higher volatility of debt financing modes will cause some liquidity risk.For macroeconomic condition, the result shows that impact of inflation rate could decrease the nominal value deposits in Islamic bank and finally the relationship of liquidity risk and Islamic bank deposit rate is negative.The implication of this study is that when the Islamic banks consider on
their liquidity risk management, the have to look upon the behaviour of debt financing, inflation rate and Islamic bank deposit rate
PENERAPAN STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN PREVIEW, QUESTION, READ, REFLECT, RECITE, REVIEW TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KREATIF DAN HASIL BELAJAR FISIKA PESERTA DIDIK SMAN 1 TINAMBUNG
Penelitian ini adalah penelitian true eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan hasil belajar dalam pembelajaran fisika antara peserta didik yang diajar melalui strategi pembelajaran preview, question, read, reflect, recite, review dan yang diajar dengan strategi pembelajaran konvensional, serta untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan hasil belajar dalam pembelajaran fisika antara peserta didik yang diajar dengan strategi pembelajaran preview, question, read, reflect, recite, review dan peserta didik yang diajar dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran konvensional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Tinambung Kabupaten Polewali Mandar tahun ajaran 2016/2017 dan sampel penelitian ini adalah peserta didik dari kelas XC dan kelas XD. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif diperoleh bahwa kemampuan bepikir kreatif pada kelas eksperimen berada pada kategori sedang sedangkan pada kelas kontrol pada kategori rendah dan hasil belajar fisika pada kelas eksperimen berada pada kategori tinggi demikian halnya pada kelas kontrol berada pada kategori tinggi. Hasil analisis uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan hasil belajar yang signifikan antara peserta didik yang diajar dengan strategi pembelajaran preview, question, read, reflect, recite, review dan peserta didik yang diajar dengan menggunakan strategi konvensional pada taraf nyata α = 0,05. Kata kunci : Strategi pembelajaran PQ4R, kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan hasil belajar fisik
