Forma Canônica : uma boa alternativa ao ensino das funções quadráticas

Também foram apresentados tais assuntos sob a ótica da forma canônica das funções polinomiais de 2º grau. Como licencianda tive muitas dificuldades para compreender os conteúdos que envolviam esse assunto, pois na educação básica não tive contato com muitos deles, portanto tive que me esforçar bastante, pedir ajuda a monitores e professores nos horários contrários das aulas. Na pesquisa foi constatado que a forma canônica não é abordada em todos os livros didáticos, entretanto ela pode ser um método eficiente para o ensino de resolução de problemas que envolvem as funções quadráticas sem o uso da fórmula de Bhaskara.In the present study, we intend to analyze some basic education textbooks of mathematics, regarding quadratic equations and functions. These subjects were also presented from the point of view of the canonical form of the second-degree polynomial functions. Having a major in mathematics, I had many difficulties to understand the contents that involved this subject, because I did not have contact with many of them during basic education, but I had to work hard, asking for help from monitors and teachers in the hours opposite to those of the classes. In the study, it was found that the canonical form is not addressed in all textbooks, and that it can be an efficient method for teaching problem solving involving quadratic functions without the use of the Bhaskara formula

Plant grafting: Maximizing beneficial microbe-plant interactions

Grafting, a traditional agricultural technique, holds significant potential for increasing productivity by harnessing the plant microbiome. The microbiome provides adaptability and metabolic diversity, increasing plant capacity to cope with challenging conditions. Although grafting effects on the composition and structure of microbiome on the root endosphere and, consequently, on the aerial endosphere have been reported, the impact on potential functionalities for plant traits remains to be elucidated. Beneficial microbes assembled by plant grafting have significant biotechnological potential to increase plant performance against biotic and abiotic stressors. In view of the optimal use of rootstock-scion combinations, in this review, we focused on recent grafting studies with plant-microbiome underlying mechanisms related to growth promotion, nutrient accessibility, and protection against abiotic and biotic environmental stresses. We provide significant first-hand information to guide future directions and prospects in shaping plant and core microbiome interactions, which helps in sustainable agriculture

Quality of life of caregivers for patients of cerebrovascular accidents: association of (socio-demographic) characteristics and burden

OBJECTIVE Investigating the association between quality of life with socio-demographic characteristics and the burden of caregivers for individuals with cerebrovascular accident sequelae. METHOD A descriptive, cross-sectional study with a sample composed of 136 caregivers. For data collection, a semi-structured questionnaire, the Barthel, Burden Interview and Short-Form-36 scales were used. Correlation analysis, t-Student test and F-test were used for the analysis in order to compare averages. RESULTS Significant averages in quality of life were demonstrated in association with female caregivers and those over 60 years in the field 'functional capacity,' and in the domains of 'mental health' and 'vitality' for those with higher income. Regarding burden association, the highlighted areas were 'functional capacity,' 'physical aspects,' 'emotional aspects' and 'pain.' CONCLUSION The creation of public policies and social support to effectively reduce the burden on caregivers is a necessity

Dynamic landscape and regulation of RNA editing in mammals

Adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) RNA editing is a conserved post-transcriptional mechanism mediated by ADAR enzymes that diversifies the transcriptome by altering selected nucleotides in RNA molecules1. Although many editing sites have recently been discovered2,3,4,5,6,7, the extent to which most sites are edited and how the editing is regulated in different biological contexts are not fully understood8,9,10. Here we report dynamic spatiotemporal patterns and new regulators of RNA editing, discovered through an extensive profiling of A-to-I RNA editing in 8,551 human samples (representing 53 body sites from 552 individuals) from the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) project and in hundreds of other primate and mouse samples. We show that editing levels in non-repetitive coding regions vary more between tissues than editing levels in repetitive regions. Globally, ADAR1 is the primary editor of repetitive sites and ADAR2 is the primary editor of non-repetitive coding sites, whereas the catalytically inactive ADAR3 predominantly acts as an inhibitor of editing. Cross-species analysis of RNA editing in several tissues revealed that species, rather than tissue type, is the primary determinant of editing levels, suggesting stronger cis-directed regulation of RNA editing for most sites, although the small set of conserved coding sites is under stronger trans-regulation. In addition, we curated an extensive set of ADAR1 and ADAR2 targets and showed that many editing sites display distinct tissue-specific regulation by the ADAR enzymes in vivo. Further analysis of the GTEx data revealed several potential regulators of editing, such as AIMP2, which reduces editing in muscles by enhancing the degradation of the ADAR proteins. Collectively, our work provides insights into the complex cis- and trans-regulation of A-to-I editing
