No existieron

No
The objetive was evaluate the adherence to Mediterranean
diet in adolescents of rhythmic gymnastics and the
relationship with the Body Mass Index (BMI) and waist
circumference. Prospective, transversal, descriptive and
comparative study was realized where participated 90
gymnastics between 12 and 17 years. The adherence to
Mediterranean diet was analysed through the KIDMED
test. The waist circunference was measured, as well as the
height and weight of each gymnastics, calculating BMI. The
52.2%; 46.7% and 1.1% of the total sample showed an
adherence to Mediterranean diet high, medium and low
respectively with a BMI of 20.05 ± 1.16 kg/m2 and waist
circunference of 63.53 ± 2.07 cm. The values of the total
sample were not related to any anthropometric variables
analyzed (weight, BMI, waist circumference). The eating
habits of adolescents with regard to Mediterranean diet are healthier than the girls. The total sample registered a normal
value of BMI. However, the percentages of gymnasts with
medium adherence of Mediterranean Diet evidenced the
need to try to approximate their habits to the Mediterranean
patterns
Introduction: Eating habits are one of the underlying aspects in rhythmic gymnastics as a sport with an
aesthetic component. Objective: To evaluate adherence to the Mediterranean diet (MD) in girls and adolescents
who perform rhythmic gymnastics, and the relationship of this adherence with Body Mass Index (BMI) and waist
circumference. Methods: A prospective, descriptive comparative cross-sectional study with the participation of
221 gymnasts aged between 7 and 17 years. Adherence to the Mediterranean diet was analyzed using the KIDMED
test. The waist circumference, height and weight of each gymnast were measured and the BMI calculated.
Results: 41.63%, 52.94% and 5.43% of the total sample exhibited high, medium and low adherence, respectively,
to the Mediterranean diet. The Mann-Whitney U test indicated significant differences in the rate of adherence
to the Mediterranean diet between the two age groups, U = 5007.0, p = .016, r = .162. The adolescent gymnasts
had greater adherence than the younger gymnasts. The total sample showed a positive correlation of the rate
of adherence with weight (Rho = .143, p = .034), BMI (Rho = .152, p = .024) and waist circumference (Rho =
.180, p = .007). Conclusions: The eating habits of adolescent gymnasts with regard to the Mediterranean diet
are healthier than those of the younger gymnasts. All participants had normal BMI values. The KIDMED values
of the total sample were related to weight and BMI. The high percentages of younger gymnasts with mean
adherence to the MD evidenced the need to approximate their eating habits with Mediterranean standards.

Assessment of the general and specific physical fitness of rhythmic Gymnastics' practitioners through the Aristo protocol
deportivo.Rhythmic gymnastics (RG) is a sport with a huge physical and technical demands,
which requires a high level of training. Hence, it is a priority for gymnasts to have a
specific optimal and healthy physical condition to face the requirements of such a
physically demanding sport practice. The main objective of this Doctoral Thesis as part
of the ARISTO project was to apply a protocol for medical examination and assessment
of the physical fitness-general health for this gymnastic sport, as well as to prepare and
validate a battery of specific functional characteristics of these gymnasts to guarantee a
healthy sports practice. With the intention of responding to this macro-objective, three
studies were carried out whose specific objectives were: to analyze the level of physical
fitness related to health in girls and adolescents practitioner of RG, the application of the
ALPHA-Fitness battery that facilitates a measurement objective of the physical fitness
(study 1); design a functional test battery to specifically evaluate the different capacities
implicit in Rhythmic Gymnastics (study 2); apply the battery designed to check the
reliability (that is, the consistency of the results) and validation, as well as obtain
normative reference values of the different tests that make up the battery for the
population practicing this sport (study 3). A total of 116 competition gymnasts belonging
to 5 clubs from 4 Andalusian provinces (Seville, Malaga, Huelva and Granada) were
selected for the study.
The results of this Doctoral Thesis show that: 1. The total sample of gymnasts
presents a good physical condition compared to the standard reference values (study 1);
2. An instrument of potential interest has been developed for the assessment of Rhythmic
Gymnastics gymnasts (study 2) and 3. The definitive BFAGR consists of six tests at each
level, being a valid, reliable and easy-to-apply tool (study 3).
Based on these findings, the designed and validated battery represents a
breakthrough in measuring sport-specific physical qualities. Establishing itself as a tool
in rhythmic gymnastics for valid and reliable tests that measure the abilities inherent to
sport, preserving health standards. Therefore, it is intended to be incorporated into the
annual planning of the trainers so that they objectively know the level of their gymnasts
and can make the relevant variations in training based on the results obtained in the tests.
In addition, seeing the results in the tests can come to recognize the potential of a future
sports talent.Tesis Univ. Granada.ARISTO Comisión Europe
Aristo functional battery in rhythmic gymnastics (AFBRG): reliability and applicability in basic level gymnast child
Objective: To determine the test-retest reliability of the tests that
make up the battery as well as to determine their normative values.
Method: 56 basic level rhythmic gymnasts between 7 and 11 years
old participated. To identify the reliability of the ten battery tests (two
of them bilateral), two evaluations were performed in each test. After
one week the tests were carried out again to evaluate the test-retest
reliability. The Intraclass Correlation Coeffi cient (ICC) was used for testretest
reliability. The discriminatory capacity of the tests, according
to the different categories, was estimated using an ANOVA. If the
assumptions of normality and homoscedasticity were not met, the Bland
and Altman method was chosen to estimate reliability and the Mann
Whitney U statistic for the discriminatory analysis between categories.
Results: The inter-rater reliability is high, presenting values higher
than 0.95 in all tests except in the “stride” in relation to the “jump
height”. The ICC obtained indicated very good reproducibility (> 0.75) in
the tests “Front-back splits to the right”, “Front right and left leg raise
and hold”, and “Stride (dynamic fl exibility)”. Likewise, the presence of
concordance between the records was presumed through the Bland and
Altman method, in the tests “Throwing the ball and turning forward”,
“Front back splits to the left”, “Bridge” and “Shoulder fl exibility”.
Conclusions: the fi nal BFAGR battery consisting of six tests for the
assessment of specifi c physical condition is reliable and applicable for
gymnasts of these ages
