Programa recursivo en pascal para determinación de zonas en una secuencia, por el método de análisis de varianza

    Get PDF
Geologic data commonly form a sequence, for example well logs, and they may be subdivided into relative uniform intervals corresponding to stratigraphic units. Distinct zones within ordered data sets can be identified by analysis of variance method. The computer program is a recursive procedure in which arrangements into two contiguous zones are considered at each stage. In each proposed boundary a zonation index is calculated, and is selected the highest one to stablish two different zones. The procedure is repeated for each zone until number of data in segments reach a limit. In a digitized electric log, it was possible to identify 21 boundaries. The program is general and can be used in others branch of geology

Comparison theorems for Lorentzian length spaces with lower timelike curvature bounds

In this article we introduce a notion of normalized angle for Lorentzian pre-length spaces. This concept allows us to prove some equivalences to the definition of timelike curvature bounds from below for Lorentzian pre-length spaces. Specifically, we establish some comparison theorems known as the local Lorentzian version of the Toponogov theorem and the Alexandrov convexity property. Finally, as an application we obtain a first variation Formula for non-negatively curved globally hyperbolic Lorentzian length spaces

Development of a critical structure state alarm system based on the instrumentation of the Botafoc breakwater nº 8 caisson

Balearic Port Authority has developed an instrumentation system for the #8 caisson of the Botafoc breakwater that integrates 12 pressure sensors located at three surfaces, two in contact with the sea water and another with the bottom. This design was completed with an inertial system that measures the angular velocities and the accelerations over the three Cartesian axes. Consequently, the system measures actions (pressures) and reactions (movements and accelerations) experimented by the caisson, due to sea waves and/or other service loads. R+D department of the Port Authority and Polytechnic University of Madrid are working on two directions, the development of new theories on vertical breakwater design that go beyond Goda and Sainflou, and on the creation of a real-time critical structure alarm system, based on the instrumentation installed. This alarm system has two main parts: the instrumentation itself that collects data and processes it on real-time (the data processing compares the pressure law suffered by the caisson in every step process with the design critical state of the caisson, in this case the Goda pressure law for a 6.5 m wave), giving a security coefficient that points out the risk level on real-time; and the alarm system consisting of a monitoring panel located in the Port Control Center that shows the risk level and advises in case of an incidental evacuation of this critical portuary installation

Understanding how organizational culture typology relates to organizational unlearning and innovation capabilities

    Get PDF
This study focuses on the link between organizational unlearning and innovation capabilities and explores how this relationship might be managed within an innovative firm. In order to gain a clearer insight into to the influence of a firm’s culture on organizational unlearning and its innovation capabilities, a research model was developed that employs the Competing Values Framework (Cameron & Quinn, 1999). In this model, the influence of a firm’s cultural typology on unlearning and innovation is conceptualized and hypotheses are developed. The model was tested empirically using a sample of 145 firms drawn from the Spanish automotive components manufacturing sector and the relationships between the constructs were assessed using the partial least squares path-modeling approach. The results reveal that each distinct organizational culture exerts a different impact on the innovation and unlearning outcome variables. In particular, an adhocracy culture is associated closely with innovation capabilities while a market culture exerts a significant influence on organizational unlearnin

Crs seismic processing of a geological complex area

We applied the NMO and CRS (Common Reflector Surface) approaches to a complex geological area in order to compare their performances for obtaining enhanced images. Unlike NMO, CRS does not depend on a previous time velocity model and uses a hyperbolic equation to estimate 2D travel times through three parameters (Normal ray emergence angle, NIP and N wavefront curvatures). To obtain the image a solution provided by coherence analysis algorithm was used.A low quality Colombian seismic line acquired in Middle Magdalena basin was used, where a foothill geological area is characterizedby a thrusting fault. The CRS provided an enhanced image which allowed a new geological interpretation that is best constrained with other regional observations

The CICA GRID: A Cloud Computing Infrastructure on Demand with Open Source Technologies

    Get PDF
A new approach technology to enable the expansion and replication of resources on demand is presented in this paper. This approach is called CICA GRID and it provides service to research community in the Scientific Computer Centre of Andalusia (CICA). This approach is an alternative solution to the initial cost involved in building an own data center by public organizations for researches. This solution quickly provides resources with a minimal technical staff effort. Also, an architecture and user interface example called ReCarta was presented. This system supplies a private Cloud Computing system for non-technical end-users.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2009-14378-C02-01 (ARTEMISA)Junta de Andalucía TIC-8052 (Simon

Looking at the field of “Urbanística y Ordenación del Territorio” by surveying its academic staff

    Get PDF
The Spanish knowledge field “Urbanística y Ordenación del Territorio” includes academics with teaching and research tasks mainly linked to technical degrees (e.g. architecture and civil engineering). Almost four decades after creating this official knowledge field, this paper presents a survey to approximately 30% of its teaching staff. The obtained results show a diagnosis and strategic reflection on the knowledge field, analyzing the academics´ concerns and visions on teaching, research, and careers expectations. It also discusses some key issues to cope with present academic challenges, including the need for a better collective coordination at the national level
