AN EFFICIENT TWO-SERVER AUTHENTICATION AND KEY EXCHANGE PROTOCOL FOR ACCESSING SECURE CLOUD SERVICES

To avail cloud services namely Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), etc. via insecure channel, it is necessary to establish a symmetric key between end user and remote Cloud Service Server (CSS). In such a provision, both the end parties demand proper auditing so that resources are legitimately used, and privacies are maintained. To achieve this, there is a need for a robust authentication mechanism. Towards the solution, a number of single server authenticated key agreement protocols have been reported recently. However, they are vulnerable to many security threats such as identity compromisation, impersonation, man-in-the-middle, replay, byzantine, offline dictionary and privileged-insider attacks. In addition to this, most of the existing protocols adopt the single server based authentication strategy which are prone to single point of vulnerability and single point of failure issues. This work proposes an efficient password-based two-server authentication and key exchange protocol addressing the major limitations in the existing protocols. The formal verification of the proposed protocol using Automated Validation of Internet Security Protocols and Applications (AVISPA) proofs that it is provably secure. The informal security analysis substantiates that the proposed scheme has successfully addressed the existing issues. The performance study contemplates that the overhead of the protocol is reasonable and comparable with other schemes. The proposed protocol can be considered as a robust authentication protocol for a secure access to the cloud services

Data in support of in vivo studies of silk based gold nano-composite conduits for functional peripheral nerve regeneration

    No full text
In the present data article we report the in vitro and in vivo biocompatibility of fabricated nerve conduits described in Das et al. [1]. Green synthesised gold nanoparticles (GNPs) were evaluated for their cytotoxicity in rat Schwann cells (SCTM41). We also describe herein the adhesion and proliferation of Schwann cells over the nanofibrous scaffolds. Methods describing surgical implantation of conduits in a rat sciatic nerve injury model, confirming its accurate implantation as well as the porosity and swelling tendency of the nerve conduits are illustrated in the various figures and graphs

Multiplicity dependence of charged-particle intra-jet properties in pp collisions at s\sqrt{s} = 13 TeV

International audienceThe first measurement of the multiplicity dependence of intra-jet properties of leading charged-particle jets in proton-proton (pp) collisions is reported. The mean charged-particle multiplicity and jet fragmentation distributions are measured in minimum-bias and high-multiplicity pp collisions at s\sqrt{s} = 13 TeV using the ALICE detector. Jets are reconstructed from charged particles produced in the midrapidity region (η<0.9|\eta| < 0.9) using the sequential recombination anti-kTk_{\rm T} algorithm with jet resolution parameters RR = 0.2, 0.3, and 0.4 for the transverse momentum (pTp_{\rm T}) interval 5-110 GeV/cc. High-multiplicity events are selected by the forward V0 scintillator detectors. The mean charged-particle multiplicity inside the leading jet cone rises monotonically with increasing jet pTp_{\rm T} in qualitative agreement with previous measurements at lower energies. The distributions of jet fragmentation functions zchz^{\rm ch} and ξch\xi^{\rm ch} are measured for different jet-pTp_{\rm T} intervals. Jet-pTp_{\rm T} independent fragmentation of leading jets is observed for wider jets except at high- and low-zchz^{\rm ch}. The observed "hump-backed plateau" structure in the ξch\xi^{\rm ch} distribution indicates suppression of low-pTp_{\rm T} particles. In high-multiplicity events, an enhancement of the fragmentation probability of low-zchz^{\rm ch} particles accompanied by a suppression of high-zchz^{\rm ch} particles is observed compared to minimum-bias events. This behavior becomes more prominent for low-pTp_{\rm T} jets with larger jet radius. The results are compared with predictions of QCD-inspired event generators, PYTHIA 8 with Monash 2013 tune and EPOS LHC. It is found that PYTHIA 8 qualitatively reproduces the jet modification in high-multiplicity events except at high jet pTp_{\rm T}. These measurements provide important constraints to models of jet fragmentation
