Beam polarization effects in the radiative production of lightest neutralinos in e+ee^+ e^- collisions in supersymmetric grand unified models

We study the production of the lightest neutralinos in the process e+eχ10χ10γe^+ e^- \rightarrow \chi_1^0 \chi_1^0 \gamma in supersymmetric grand unified models for the International Linear Collider Energies with longitudinally polarized beams. We consider cases where the standard model gauge group is unified into the grand unified gauge groups SU(5), or SO(10). We have carried out a comprehensive study of this process in the SU(5) and SO(10) grand unified theories which includes the QED radiative corrections. We compare and contrast the dependence of the signal cross section on the grand unified gauge group, and on the different representations of the grand unified gauge group, when the the electron and positron beams are longitudinally polarized. To assess the feasibility of experimentally observing the radiative production process, we have also considered in detail the background to this process coming from the radiative neutrino production process e+eννˉγe^+ e^- \rightarrow \nu \bar\nu \gamma with longitudinally polarized electron and positron beams. In addition we have also considered the supersymmetric background coming from the radiative production of scalar neutrinos in the process e+eν~ν~γe^+ e^- \rightarrow \tilde \nu \tilde\nu^* \gamma with longitudinally polarized beams. The process can be a major background to the radiative production of neutralinos when the scalar neutrinos decay invisibly.Comment: 26 pages, 18 figures; typos and misprints corrected; results and conclusions unchanged; this paper is a sequel to and draws material from the paper arXiv:1210.647

Invisible decays of the lightest Higgs boson in supersymmetric models

We consider supersymmetric models in which the lightest Higgs scalar can decay invisibly consistent with the constraints on the 126126~GeV state discovered at the CERN LHC. We consider the invisible decay in the minimal supersymmetric standard model~(MSSM), as well its extension containing an additional chiral singlet superfield, the so-called next-to-minimal or nonminimal supersymmetric standard model~(NMSSM).We consider the case of MSSM with both universal as well as nonuniversal gaugino masses at the grand unified scale, and find that only an E6E_6 grand unified model with unnaturally large representation can give rise to sufficiently light neutralinos which can possibly lead to the invisible decay h0χ~10χ~10h^0 \rightarrow \tilde \chi_1^0 \tilde \chi_1^0. Following this, we consider the case of NMSSM in detail, where also we find that it is not possible to have the invisible decay of the lightest Higgs scalar with universal gaugino masses at the grand unified scale. We delineate the regions of the NMSSM parameter space where it is possible to have the lightest Higgs boson to have a mass of about 126126 GeV, and then concentrate on the region where this Higgs can decay into light neutralinos, with the soft gaugino masses M1M_1 and M2M_2 as two independent parameters, unconstrained by grand unification. We also consider, simultaneously, the other important invisible Higgs decay channel in the NMSSM, namely the decay into the lightest CP odd scalars, h1a1a1h_1 \to a_1 a_1, which is studied in detail. With the invisible Higgs branching ratio being constrained by the present LHC results, we find that μeff<170\mu_{eff} < 170~GeV and M1<80M_1 < 80~GeV is disfavored in NMSSM for fixed values of the other input parameters. The dependence of our results on the parameters of NMSSM is discussed in detail.Comment: 20 pages, 14 figures, to appear in Physical Review

    Isolating CP-violating \gamma ZZ coupling in e+e- \to \gamma Z with transverse beam polarizations

We revisit the process e+eγZe^+e^- \to \gamma Z at the ILC with transverse beam polarization in the presence of anomalous CP-violating γZZ\gamma Z Z coupling λ1\lambda_1 and γγZ\gamma \gamma Z coupling λ2\lambda_2. We point out that if the final-state spins are resolved, then it becomes possible to fingerprint the anomalous coupling {\rm Re}λ1\lambda_1.90% confidence level limit on {\rm Re}λ1\lambda_1 achievable at ILC with center-of-mass energy of 500 GeV or 800 GeV with realistic initial beam polarization and integrated luminosity is of the order of few times of 10210^{-2} when the helicity of ZZ is used and 10310^{-3} when the helicity of γ\gamma is used. The resulting corrections at quadratic order to the cross section and its influence on these limits are also evaluated and are shown to be small. The benefits of such polarization programmes at the ILC are compared and contrasted for the process at hand. We also discuss possible methods by which one can isolate events with a definite helicity for one of the final-state particles.Comment: 13 pages, 9 figures, using RevTex; v2 is a significantly revised version of v1, and corresponds to the version that has been published in Physical Review

An experiment on seed quality enhancement of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) var. S 9 (local) was conducted at the department of seed science and technology, OUAT, Bhubaneswar during 2013-14 by use of three biocontrol agents viz. Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma harzianum, Pseudomonas fluorescence. Seeds were bi-oprimed with the biocontrol agents at 40, 50 and 60 % concentration for 4,8,12 and 16 hours of soaking. Seeds were also hydro primed for 4,8,12 and 16 hours. Unprimed dry seed resulted in germination (69 %), shoot length (27.5 cm), root length (14 cm), seedling dry weight (1.71g), SVI-I (2859.2), SVI-II (118.0) and speed of germination (5.8) while hydro primed seeds resulted in germination (72%), shoot length (31.9 cm), root length (15 cm), seedling dry weight (1.80 g), SVI-1 (3375.9) SVI-II (129.8) and speed of germination (6.7). Trichoderma harzianum at 40% con-centration and for 4 hours of soaking resulted enhancement of above quality parameter like 13.0 % in germination, 21.1 % in shoot length, 20.7 % in root length, 31.6 % in seedling dry weight, 36 % in seedling vigour index-I, 48.1 % in seedling vigour index-II and 58.6 % in speed of germination over unprimed seeds. Bio priming with P. fluorescence ( at 40% concentration and for 4 hour) closely followed and at par with best treatment with 11.6 %, 18.2 %, 16.4 %, 30.4 %, 30.7 % and 56.9 % enhancement of above mentioned quality parameters, respectively

W physics at the ILC with polarized beams as a probe of the Littlest Higgs Model

We study the possibility of using W pair production and leptonic decay of one of the W's at the ILC with polarized beams as a probe of the Littlest Higgs Model. We consider cross-sections, polarization fractions of the W's, leptonic decay energy and angular distributions, and left-right polarization asymmetry as probes of the model. With parameter values allowed by present experimental constraints detectable effects on these observables at typical ILC energies of 500 GeV and 800 GeV will be present. Beam polarization is further found to enhance the sensitivity.Comment: 17 pages, plain latex, 6 figures, replaced with version accepted by JHEP, typographical errors removed, notation and references improved, new references added, explanation added in appendix regarding beam polarization dependenc

BACKGROUND: Adenosine Deaminase, the key enzyme of purine metabolism catalyzing the irreversible hydrolytic deamination of adenosine to inosine is implicated in a varied spectrum of human diseases ranging from SCID to TB and pneumonia. Estimation of ADA offers an easy, relatively affordable and reliable diagnostic alternative and/ or adjunct (specially in a TB endemic nation) which emphasizes the necessity of a feasible and implementable alternative method to the Diazyme method of ADA estimation requiring high end autoanalyzer and infrastructural setup.METHODS: Sixty body fluids samples (irrespective of gender, age, diagnosis or sample type) received by the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal for fluid ADA estimation by the Diazyme assay method (cobas 6000) was simultaneously processed by the Galanti and Guisti manual method to estimate the comparability and the aggregability of results obtained by the two analytical techniques.RESULTS: The Galanti and Guisti manual method of ADA estimation showed aggregability with the Diazyme autoanalyzer method for 90% of the assayed study samples with the manual method uniformly showing higher values when compared to the analyzer method. A correction factor of 2.44 was arrived at which could effectively achieve comparability between the two assay methods.CONCLUSION: The Galanti and Guisti manual method of ADA estimation might be a feasible, rapid, reliable and costeffective method for estimation of fluid ADA when compared to the cost and infrastructure intensive autoanalyzer

Indonesia has great potential in horticulture, including floriculture, because it is one of the world's centers of biodiversity. The purpose of this research is to study the marketing strategies used by the Ibal Flower Flower Shop in Medan, North Sumatra, to sell their decorative flower products. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach and collects data through direct observation, interviews and literature study. As a result of this research, Ibal Flower Flower Shop has succeeded in building a business that focuses on high quality products and services. However, to face increasing competition, these businesses must step up their digital marketing campaigns through e-commerce and social media platforms, hold promotional events, and collaborate with plant-loving communities. Supplier diversification, improving packaging quality, optimizing pricing, and effective inventory management are some of the suggestions for product development. Ibal Flower Flower Shop is expected to increase sales and maintain its sustainability in a dynamic market by using creative and effective marketing strategies. &nbsp
