Characterizing stellar populations in spiral disks

It is now possible to measure detailed spectral indices for stellar populations in spiral disks. We propose to interpret these data using evolutionary synthesis models computed from the Star Formation Histories obtained from chemical evolutionary models. We find that this technique is a powerful tool to discriminate between old and young stellar populations. We show an example of the power of Integral Field spectroscopy in unveiling the spatial distribution of populations in a barred galaxy.Comment: 5 pages, to be published in "Science Perspectives for 3D Spectroscopy", Eds. La influencia de las actividades extraescolares en los hábitos deportivos de los escolares

El presente artículo es una investigación triangular con chicos y chicas que pertenecen a 4º curso de Enseñanza Secundaria Obligatoria de la población de Alcobendas (Madrid) sobre hábitos de práctica deportiva y la influencia que las actividades complementarias y extraescolares (A.C.E.) de la asignatura de Educación Física tienen sobre ellos. En el estudio he utilizado dos instrumentos: el cuestionario y el grupo de discusión. Se han encuestado 126 alumnos que pertenecen a cinco institutos. Los resultados obtenidos nos indican que el 61% de esta población manifiesta practicar actividad física y/o deporte, un 26% han abandonado la práctica de manera temporal o permanente y que el 12% no ha practicado nunca. También nos muestra que un 95% participa siempre o frecuentemente en las A.C.y E. y un 88% consideran que sus experiencias han sido buenas o muy buenas. Para el 49% las A.C.E. sirvieron para introducirles e interesarles en alguna actividad físico-deportiva

Stellar Populations in Barred Galaxies

We developed an iterative technique to better characterize stellar populations and the central activity of barred galaxies using evolutionary synthesis codes and OASIS data. The case of NGC5430 is presented here.
