Urolithiasis is a worldwide problem having no sparing with any group like geographical, cultural or racial. Urinary calculi may cause obstruction, hydronephrosis, infection and hemorrhage in the urinary tract. The management of Urolithiasis with the procedures like surgery, lithotripsy and laser therapy were not only costly but also their recurrence rate are uncertain. But Ayurveda can be the good option to fill this gap with good results. Hence it is necessary and need to explore an Ayurvedic preparation which can resolve this problem with accurate results. And Varun roots and Palash flowers Kwath will be the best option to manage Urolithiasis.Present study was carried out on 30 patients suffering from Urolithiasis. It was a single blind clinical study to evaluate the efficacy of Varun Moola and Palashpushpa Kwath by subjective and objective criteria. 40 ml mixture of decoction was given twice daily for 30 days or till symptoms relieved whichever is earlier. The study revealed that there were significant and positive results of the applied drugs found on the management of Urolithiasis due to its diuretic, anti-infective, anti-biotic and anti-inflammatory properties. These drugs not only reduces symptoms like pain, dysuria, nausea, vomiting, and burning micturition but also helps to reduced pus cells and RBCs in urine as well. This contributes to control urinary tract infection resulting to cure Urolithiasis without producing any adverse effects on patients

Chronic ulcers are the problems and challenges for doctors in day today practice. An ulcer is the one of the type of wound which breaks integrity or continuity of skin or mucous membrane. Many studies have been carried out in Ayurveda for the management of chronic ulcers. Shashti Upakrama i.e. sixty types of wound management are the best therapies to deal for chronic ulcers. In the light of Ayurvedic knowledge, Sushruta described Samangadi Ropana taila as topical application in the context of Vrana. It contains Manjishta, Haridra, Padma, Triphala, Tuth, Vidanga, Kutki, Haritaki, Guduchi and Karanja. These drugs have Vrana Shodhana (wound cleaning) and Vrana Ropana (wound healing) properties. The present study was carried out on all types of Dushta Vrana (chronic ulcer). The Taila was applied topically once daily for 30 days or till healing of wound whichever is earlier. In this study 30 patients were selected and the study was single blind clinical study to evaluate the efficacy of Taila by the subjective and objective criteria. This study shown that, there were significant results found in Dushta vrana (chronic ulcer) by anti-infective (anti bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-parasitic) property. It also contains analgesic and anti-inflammatory property which reduces pain, discharge, inflammation, tenderness, burning sensation and itching which contribute healthy granulation tissue formation. Thus wound healing restored without producing any adverse effect

Nidra (sleep) in Ayurveda plays very important role in health point of view hence it is necessary to have a sound sleep. Current study determines the efficacy of Takradhara and indigenous drugs in administration of Anidra (insomnia). It was a simple, random, systematic, and focused group study with sample size 30.It was observed that the common causes of Anidra are mental stress; Chinta, Bhaya, Krodha, and improper sleep timings with having common symptoms like Yawning, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Malaise and Headache. It was seen that after completion of the course 73% of the patients got relieved from drowsiness, 72% relieved from headache, 67% relieved from malaise, 60% relieved from yawning and 58% of the patients got relieved from fatigue. Apart from that, 43% of the patients show improvement in the luster, 42% got relieved from constipation and 41% relieved from indigestion. However, 39% improved their concentration, 37% improved their level of perception and 27% improved their memory, while 23% of the patients show improvement in their weight. Therefore it can be concluded that the procedure of Takradhara was very safe and efficacious to treat the modalities and can be used effectively on the management of Anidra. Mixture prepared for Takradhara was found very effective in the management of Anidra. It only reduces stress and tension but also enhances the circulation of brain, improves memory, nourishes the hair on scalp, calms the mind and body and helps to beat insomnia.

Pain is an unpleasing sensation and emotional experience that links to tissue damage. It allows the body to react and prevent further tissue damage. It is an unpleasant feeling which only the individual himself can experiences because of that it cannot be objectively defined satisfactorily. However, International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) defines pain as, “An unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage. It is not just a physical sensation, it is an influenced by attitudes, beliefs, personality and social factors, and can affect emotional and mental wellbeing” which somehow help to define pain. The present study reviewed all the literature related with pain in Ayurvedic literature as mentioned in Sushruta Samhita. The basic aim of this study was to explore briefly and review the concept of pain as per Sushruta Samhita. And for the same various books especially Sushruta Samhita and related supportive books and other web-based articles were reviewed for the better understanding of the concept. Only secondary data were used for writing this article

Hair disorders cause negative impact towards the individual and his/her quality of life. Indralupta is a Kshudraroga characterized by loss of hair. It can be correlate with alopecia areata, which is having chief complaint of hair loss on body especially on scalp without any clinical inflammatory signs. Raktamokshana is a technical term employed to denote a para-surgical procedure to expel out the vitiated blood from selected areas of the body, by specific methods. Ayurveda classical text propounds practical guidelines for bloodletting and claims it as most effective therapy in half of the body ailments. Jalaukavacharna Karma (Leech therapy) is considered as the ideal method to expel out the vitiated blood safely, quickly, and effectively. Here a case of Indralupta (alopecia areata) successfully treated with Ayurveda Raktamokshana treatment is recorded

Feature Selection Technique for Text Document Classification: An Alternative Approach

    Get PDF
Text classification and feature selection plays an important role for correctly identifying the documents into particular category, due to the explosive growth of the textual information from the electronic digital documents as well as world wide web. In the text mining present challenge is to select important or relevant feature from large and vast amount of features in the data set. The aim of this paper is to improve the feature selection method for text document classification in machine learning. In machine learning the training set is generated for testing the documents. This can be achieved by selecting important new term i.e. weights of term in text document to improve both classification with relevance to accuracy and performance

In this paper, a novel approach is proposed for extract eminence features for classifier. Instead of traditional feature selection techniques used for text document classification. We introduce a new model based on probability and over all class frequency of term. We applied this new technique to extract features from training text documents to generate training set for machine learning. Using these machine learning training set to automatic classify documents into corresponding class labels and improve the classification accuracy. The results on these proposed feature selection method illustrates that the proposed method performs much better than traditional methods. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.15075

A Hybrid Model for Photographic Supra-Projection

    Get PDF
Photographic supra-projection (CS) comes under forensic process in which video shots or photographs of a missing person are compared against the skull that is found. By projecting both photographs on top of each other (or, even better, matching a scanned 3-D skull model against the face photo/video shot), the forensic anthropologist can try to ascertain whether it is the same person. The overall process is affected by inherent uncertainty, mostly because two objects of different nature (a face and a skull ) are involved. In this paper, we extended existing evolutionary-algorithm-based techniques to automatically superimpose the 3-D skull model and the 2-D face photo with the aim to overcome the limitations that are associated with the different sources of uncertainty, which are present in the problem. Three different approaches to handle the imprecision will be proposed: Viola- Jones Face Detection Framework, Canonical Correlation Analysis and Inverse Compositional Active Appearance Model.
