Convenience stores have been providing basic needs for their customers and have become one of the customer’s pleasure to come to shop the essential needs for the household. This study focuses on the customer’s satisfaction towards 99Speedmart by looking into two variables, which are Service Quality (SERVQUAL) and product quality. These two variables are vital to any business as it would affect its loyal customers if any of these did not meet their expectations. A survey was conducted by distributing the adapted questionnaire to 238 respondents that comprise three sections. The data was analysed quantitatively by using SPSS SPSS. It was found that many respondents showed positive results towards 99Speedmart which they are partly agreed that 99Speedmart provides good quality products and services

The diagnostic accuracy of a screening tool is often characterized by its sensitivity and specificity. An analysis of these measures must consider their intrinsic correlation. In the context of an individual participant data meta-analysis, heterogeneity is one of the main components of the analysis. When using a random-effects meta-analytic model, prediction regions provide deeper insight into the effect of heterogeneity on the variability of estimated accuracy measures across the entire studied population, not just the average. This study aimed to investigate heterogeneity via prediction regions in an individual participant data meta-analysis of the sensitivity and specificity of the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 for screening to detect major depression. From the total number of studies in the pool, four dates were selected containing roughly 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the total number of participants. A bivariate random-effects model was fitted to studies up to and including each of these dates to jointly estimate sensitivity and specificity. Two-dimensional prediction regions were plotted in ROC-space. Subgroup analyses were carried out on sex and age, regardless of the date of the study. The dataset comprised 17,436 participants from 58 primary studies of which 2322 (13.3%) presented cases of major depression. Point estimates of sensitivity and specificity did not differ importantly as more studies were added to the model. However, correlation of the measures increased. As expected, standard errors of the logit pooled TPR and FPR consistently decreased as more studies were used, while standard deviations of the random-effects did not decrease monotonically. Subgroup analysis by sex did not reveal important contributions for observed heterogeneity; however, the shape of the prediction regions differed. Subgroup analysis by age did not reveal meaningful contributions to the heterogeneity and the prediction regions were similar in shape. Prediction intervals and regions reveal previously unseen trends in a dataset. In the context of a meta-analysis of diagnostic test accuracy, prediction regions can display the range of accuracy measures in different populations and settings

Optimal Selection Of Renewable Energy Installation Site In Remote Areas Using Segmentation And Regional Technique: A Case Study Of Sarawak, Malaysia

    No full text
Electricity access in many remote areas in Sarawak, Malaysia is very little due to some limitations including the complicated geographical factors and high costs. In fact, there are about 1623 locations in Sarawak without electricity, whereas 420 locations (small settlements) can be only electrified using isolated renewable energy microgrid. However, it is impossible to install individual systems for each location. Thus, the optimal clustering of these locations and the selection of sites that are located in the centers of these clusters is necessary. Therefore, in this research, image segmentation and regional technique are used to analyze the map of remote electrification in Sarawak. The image segmentation which includes color thresholding, circular hough transform, and K-means technique is used in this research to identify the optimal installation site. HOMER software is then used to optimize the proposed renewable energy systems. Results show that nine locations out of 420 locations are optimum locations for the installation of renewable power systems. These nine locations are the centers of the obtained nine clusters of communities and small villages. Finally, it is found that most of the recommended combinations are hybrid renewable energy systems, where photovoltaic and hydropower systems combination is found the best hybrid system for the rural areas in Sarawak

CRISPR/Cas9-mediated generation and analysis of N terminus polymorphic models of β2AR in isogenic hPSC-derived cardiomyocytes

© 2020 During normal- and patho-physiological situations, the behavior of the beta2-adrenoreceptor (β2AR) is influenced by polymorphic variants. The functional impact of such polymorphisms has been suggested from data derived from genetic association studies, in vitro experiments with primary cells, and transgenic overexpression models. However, heterogeneous genetic background and non-physiological transgene expression levels confound interpretation, leading to conflicting mechanistic conclusions. To overcome these limitations, we used CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technology in human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) to create a unique suite of four isogenic homozygous variants at amino acid positions 16(G/R) and 27(G/Q), which reside in the N terminus of the β2AR. By producing cardiomyocytes from these hPSC lines, we determined that at a functional level β2AR signaling dominated over β1AR. Examining changes in beat rates and responses to isoprenaline, Gi coupling, cyclic AMP (cAMP) production, downregulation, and desensitization indicated that responses were often heightened for the GE variant, implying differential dominance of both polymorphic location and amino acid substitution. This finding was corroborated, since GE showed hypersensitivity to doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity relative to GQ and RQ variants. Thus, understanding the effect of β2AR polymorphisms on cardiac response to anticancer therapy may provide a route for personalized medicine and facilitate immediate clinical impact. During normal- and patho-physiological situations, the behavior of beta2-adrenoreceptor (β2AR) is determined by its polymorphic variants. A human-based isogenic model system represents a promising tool for systematic analysis of mechanisms of β2AR variant-mediated cellular response under normal and stressed conditions. This allows important subtleties of polymorphisms in β2AR to be unraveled

Equivalency of the diagnostic accuracy of the PHQ-8 and PHQ-9: A systematic review and individual participant data meta-analysis

Item 9 of the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) queries about thoughts of death and self-harm, but not suicidality. Although it is sometimes used to assess suicide risk, most positive responses are not associated with suicidality. The PHQ-8, which omits Item 9, is thus increasingly used in research. We assessed equivalency of total score correlations and the diagnostic accuracy to detect major depression of the PHQ-8 and PHQ-9.Methods We conducted an individual patient data meta-analysis. We fit bivariate random-effects models to assess diagnostic accuracy. Results 16 742 participants (2097 major depression cases) from 54 studies were included. The correlation between PHQ-8 and PHQ-9 scores was 0.996 (95 confidence interval 0.996 to 0.996). The standard cutoff score of 10 for the PHQ-9 maximized sensitivity + specificity for the PHQ-8 among studies that used a semi-structured diagnostic interview reference standard (N = 27). At cutoff 10, the PHQ-8 was less sensitive by 0.02 (-0.06 to 0.00) and more specific by 0.01 (0.00 to 0.01) among those studies (N = 27), with similar results for studies that used other types of interviews (N = 27). For all 54 primary studies combined, across all cutoffs, the PHQ-8 was less sensitive than the PHQ-9 by 0.00 to 0.05 (0.03 at cutoff 10), and specificity was within 0.01 for all cutoffs (0.00 to 0.01).Conclusions PHQ-8 and PHQ-9 total scores were similar. Sensitivity may be minimally reduced with the PHQ-8, but specificity is similar. Copyright © Cambridge University Press 2019
