The purpose of this study was to explore a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of research on plastic waste. A systematic literature search was conducted using the Scopus database to retrieve articles published between 2011 to 2022. The bibliometric indicators used such as the number of publications, citations, and collaboration networks. The study revealed 2735 articles on plastic waste were published. India and China were the most productive countries in terms of publication output. The analysis identified a strong network of collaborations among researchers. Several limitations were also identified. This study provides insights for future research and recommendations for policymakers. Being competitive is seen as a prerequisite for future sustainability. This study aims to investigate the degree of competitiveness of the Malaysian banks for the period between 1995 and 2010 using both structural and non-structural models. For the structural model, we use three market concentration measures namely CR3, CR5 and Herfindahl index. For the later approach, we use the Panzar-Rosse model whereby we perform both equilibrium and competitive test. Three input prices are used, the price of labour, the price of capital and the price of deposit. We also use three banks specific variables. Based on the structural model, the Malaysian banking industry shows the presence of mild market power given a moderate degree of concentration and the presence of mild competition. The PR model, on the other hand, shows stronger presence of competition as the H-statistics is close to 1. Part of the results confirms earlier findings that the Malaysian banking industry is best described as monopolistic competition

Women are the asset of a country because they play indispensible role in the economic development. Verily, empowerment of women will be able to uplift their livelihood by accelerating their living standards, income, and well-being, particularly in rural areas. By participating in all spheres of life, it could facilitate them to escape from the rural poverty that they are facing now

The Casual Impact of Government Support on the Small Strategic Crop Industry: Malaysia's Experience

Rice is a staple food for countries particularly in Asia, including Malaysia, hence arise concern on its supply. Thus, this study aims to investigate the causal relationship between the incentives (fertiliser subsidy and minimum price guarantee) given and paddy production in Kedah, the rice bowl of Malaysia. A time-series data ranging from the 1996 main season to the main season in 2018 (1996H1 to 2018H1) employed. Using ARDL and Granger approaches, the result shows that any disequilibrium in paddy production is regulated to accomplish the convergence faster. In the short-run, fertiliser subsidy and paddy prices are not significant in the MADA regions. The results of the analysis show that there are various causes of the long-run in the production of rice with subsidized steel and rice prices related to rice yield. The outcome of this study demonstrates the presence of long-run causality between paddy production with fertiliser subsidy and paddy price with respect to paddy yield. Therefore, to boost the paddy yield, the government should increase the number of subsidies, and control the paddy price to prevent it from falling below the market price. Therefore, future research should investigate the causal relationship between fertiliser and paddy price subsidy to the different types of paddy seeds planted
