Entrepreneurship in general is highly regarded as a catalyst for economic development. In fact, research on entrepreneurial intention has grown over the last decade. The purpose of this study was to identify whether the attitude toward the behaviour, subjective norm, perceived behavioural control and entrepreneurship education has a significant relationship with entrepreneurial intention among students in GIATMARA, Wilayah Persekutuan. The students pursue various courses to enhance the skills in fabric, culinary and multiple technical areas. Consequently, the questionnaire was developed and distributed to 214 students of GIATMARA in 12 branches in Wilayah Persekutuan. A total of 200 form returned and only 191 usable. The testing of the hypotheses involving the independent variables of attitude toward behaviour, subjective norm, perceived behavioural control and entrepreneurship education with the dependent variable of entrepreneurial intention was implemented using the method of Pearson’s Correlation Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis. The Pearson’s Correlation results show that there are positive relationships between the independent variables with entrepreneurial intention. Meanwhile, Multiple Regression analysis proved that all independent variables except perceived behavioural control have a significant influence on entrepreneurial intention

Studies on the behaviour of intact reinforced concrete (RC) columns are widely available, however, studies focusing on the behaviour of deteriorated RC columns is quite limited. Deteriorated columns need to be repaired to remain structurally sound. Among the available repairing approaches, confining methods have been extensively researched. Current studies on confining damaged column only focusing on passive-typed confinement, which led to high dependency of the dilation of concrete. This study extends the investigation on repairing RC columns to the active-typed confinement, where confining stress is applied to columns before the concrete dilation. Both experimental and numerical modeling were conducted to investigate the applicability of active confinement in repairing RC columns with varied pre-damaged levels. The applicability of steel strapping confinement in repairing RC columns with the varied pre-damaged levels were confirmed through experimental works, the experimental involved testing of 34 plain concrete cylinders and 21 RC columns under monotonic uniaxial compression. The concrete cylinder tests were performed develop a suitable stress-strain model, which incorporated pre-damaged levels for confined concrete. The empirical stress-strain model was then used in the development of numerical model for the repaired RC columns. The tests on RC column specimens consisted of 3 control columns and 18 repaired RC columns with different confining levels. The overall response of the specimens was investigated in terms of crack pattern, load carrying capacity, axial displacement, stiffness and ductility of repaired columns. The results from the experimental works were then verified by using the numerical modeling before further analysis. The test results have shown that the restorability of confinement was significantly affected by pre-damaged levels. It is also observed that the increase in confining volumetric ratio is able to restore both strength and ductility of repaired RC columns up to 171% and 172%, for the same pre-damaged level. Additionally, the outcome of the finite element modelling also aligned with the experimental results where the average absolute errors (AAE) for both strength and ductility remained are within 15%. Based on this study, a design consideration for repairing columns using confinement was also developed. The design consideration serves as a tool for design engineers in using steel strapping confinement in repairing damaged columns

This paper introduces about the study of temporal pattern properties of road accident that occur at Kedah state. Data sources of the road accident was obtaining from police department who consists of a data that describing a few factor such as types of accident, time and date of accident and address where it happened. Next, data visualization and analysis of the properties of temporal pattern road accident can be done using Geographical Information System (GIS) technology. Using this technology, it allows spatial analysis and spatial statistic that rely on geographically referenced data to be done so that better interpretation about the temporal pattern road accident can be achieved. The use of Geographical Information System (GIS) technology can provides the capability for capturing, storing, querying, analyzing and displaying geospatial data. Besides that, GIS also stand out for their ability of managing the geospatial data. Generally, geospatial data was function as to locate spatial features on the Earth’s surface and it can be done either by using a geographic or a projected coordinate system. In this paper, several GIS analysis methods had been used as to get a clear view about the properties of spatial temporal pattern of road accident at Kedah state. Hotspot analysis of Getis-Ord Gi* had been used as to determine the hotspot area of road accident cases occurrences. This may reflect with the result show the hot and cold area represent the frequency of it happened. Spatial analyst by using point density was performed in order to shows the relation between the effect of road accident on types of fatality based on types of road. Many previous study introduce GIS only for determination of the hotspot area but on this study it tells more about an analysis of road accident based on its temporal pattern properties

Rapid industrial development and escalating population growth are expected to contribute extremely to the world’s environmental crisis due to excessive wastewater generation. Therefore, a technology by phycoremediation to reduce the wastewater contamination, coupled with biomass production of sustainable bioproduct has attracted interest worldwide. Thus, the aim of the study is to generate a potential bioproduct from microalgae Scenedesmus sp. combined with phycoremediation of wet market wastewater (WMW). The optimization study proved that the Scenedesmus sp. grew up well in the temperature between 24-32ÂșC, light intensity of 245 ÎŒmol m-2s-1 and 18 hours of light exposure. In fact, this Scenedesmus sp. was much more tolerated in outdoor condition when integrated with wastewater phycoremediation in terms of biomass productivity and wastewater bioremediation. The best microalgae concentration was performed at 106cell/mL during phycoremediation process using WMW. The highest removal of nutrients (TP, TN and TOC) in WMW was up to 85%, 90% and 65% respectively under outdoor condition. Selected heavy metals (Cd, Cr, Fe, Pb and Zn) removed 87.24%, 85.55%, 90.35%, 88.5% and 87.1%, respectively. In microalgae cultivation, this study notably found the optimum of 64.26% of WMW concentration and 3.07 L/min of aeration rate were established by using statistical analysis by response surface design (RSM) in terms of biomass productivity with 6% error for the validation experiment with the value of biomass production of 68.32 mg/L/d. Besides that, the total protein and lipid content in the biomass yield produced in WMW (41.7% and 23.2%) which were more than the biomass produced in the BBM (37.4 and 19.2% respectively). The main functional of fatty acid detected 30 compounds in the biomass from WMW compared to 6 compounds in the BBM. This study notably found that WMW is a suitable and worthy media to be implemented in Scenedesmus sp. cultivation. Moreover, the quality composition of protein, lipid and fatty acid compound also have a bright perspective to be used as fish feed, agro feedstock, biodiesel and pharmaceutical potential and any related industry

Since 1992, surveillance for acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) cases was introduced in Malaysia along with the establishment of the National Poliovirus Laboratory at the Institute for Medical Research. In 2008, the Ministry of Health, Malaysia, approved a vaccine policy change from oral polio vaccine to inactivated polio vaccine (IPV). Eight states started using IPV in the Expanded Immunization Programme, followed by the remaining states in January 2010. The objective of this study was to determine the viral aetiology of AFP cases below 15 years of age, before and after vaccine policy change from oral polio vaccine to inactivated polio vaccine. One hundred and seventy-nine enteroviruses were isolated from the 3394 stool specimens investigated between 1992 and December 2012. Fifty-six out of 107 virus isolates were polioviruses and the remaining were non-polio enteroviruses. Since 2009 after the sequential introduction of IPV in the childhood immunization programme, no Sabin polioviruses were isolated from AFP cases. In 2012, the laboratory AFP surveillance was supplemented with environmental surveillance with sewage sampling. Thirteen Sabin polioviruses were also isolated from sewage in the same year, but no vaccine-derived poliovirus was detected during this period

Cakar ayam (Figure 7.1) is one of the Malay traditional cookies that are made from sliced sweet potatoes deep-fried in the coconut candy. In current practice of moulding the cookies, the fried sweet potatoes are molded using traditional manual tools, which are inefficient and less productive for the mass production purposes. “Kuih cakar ayam” associated with the meaning of the idiom means less messy handwriting has a somewhat negative connotation .This cookies may just seem less attractive in shape but still likeable . In fact, this cookie is considered a popular snack even outside the holiday season. The choice of the name of this cookie is more to shape actually resembles former chicken scratches made by the paw the ground while foraging. The value of wisdom, beauty and creativity of the Malays is clearly evident through the Malay cookie. Although it is attacked by the invention of modern cakes that look far more interesting, these cakes will be able to survive a long time until now
