Coupled Depth Learning
In this paper we propose a method for estimating depth from a single image
using a coarse to fine approach. We argue that modeling the fine depth details
is easier after a coarse depth map has been computed. We express a global
(coarse) depth map of an image as a linear combination of a depth basis learned
from training examples. The depth basis captures spatial and statistical
regularities and reduces the problem of global depth estimation to the task of
predicting the input-specific coefficients in the linear combination. This is
formulated as a regression problem from a holistic representation of the image.
Crucially, the depth basis and the regression function are {\bf coupled} and
jointly optimized by our learning scheme. We demonstrate that this results in a
significant improvement in accuracy compared to direct regression of depth
pixel values or approaches learning the depth basis disjointly from the
regression function. The global depth estimate is then used as a guidance by a
local refinement method that introduces depth details that were not captured at
the global level. Experiments on the NYUv2 and KITTI datasets show that our
method outperforms the existing state-of-the-art at a considerably lower

Analisis Hubungan Panjang Berat Pada Ikan Hermaphrodit : Kerapu Sunu (Plectropomus Leopardus) Dan Kerapu Macan (Epinephelus Fuscoguttatus)
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi hubungan panjang berat dua spesies ikan kerapu hermafrodit, yaitu kerapu sunu (Plectropomus leopardus) dan kerapu macan (Ephinephelus fuscoguttatus). Sebanyak 1.263 individu ikan yang terdiri dari 609 dan 654 spesies pertama dan kedua, masing-masing dikumpulkan dari perairan Wangi-Wangi dan Karang Kaledupa Taman Nasional Wakatobi selama September 2018 hingga Februari 2019. Ikan dikumpulkan secara acak yang merupakan hasil tangkapan pancing dan tombak. Hasil kedua spesies menunjukkan pola pertumbuhan alometrik (p 70%), sedangkan E. fuscoguttatus untuk kategori yang sama berada pada persentase yang lebih rendah (<50%). Langkah-langkah pengelolaan pada spesies hermafrodit dapat difokuskan pada proporsionalitas antara betina dan jantan terhadap keberhasilan reproduksi
Pengaruh nombor pusar ke atas pengurangan emisi NOx dari pembakar berbahan api cecair menggunakan pemusar udara aliran paksi
Pemusar udara, selain menstabilkan nyalaan adalah satu bentuk kawalan pasif bagi mengurangkan emisi gas pembakaran. Bahan cemar yang keluar bersama gas ekzos terdiri daripada gas oksida nitrogen (NOx). Gas ini amat merbahaya dan membawa kepada pencemaran udara sekeliling. Penggunaan udara pusar didapati dapat mengurangkan emisi NOx ini. Kekuatan pusaran diukur melalui nilai nombor pusar yang dapat dikira semasa merekabentuk pemusar udara. Kadar emisi ini bergantung kepada sudut pesongan bilah pemusar tersebut. Di dalam kajian ini, pemusar aliran paksi yang mempunyai sudut pesongan 40°, 50°, 60° dan 70° digunakan bagi membuktikan keberkesanan penggunaan pemusar udara aliran paksi ke atas pembakar dan pengaruh nombor pusar dalam mengurangkan emisi dari pembakar. Daripada ujikaji yang dijalankan dapat dilihat semakin tinggi nombor pusar, emisi NO semakin berkurangan. Emisi NOx menurun sebanyak 36% apabila menggunakan pemusar aliran paksi bersudut 70° dibandingkan dengan pemusar aliran paksi bersudut 40°

Knowledge Discovery Database (KDD)-Data Mining Application in Transportation
In this paper, an understanding and a review of data mining (DM) development and its applications in logistics and specifically transportation are highlighted. Even though data mining has been successful in becoming a major component of various business processes and applications, the benefits and real-world expectations are very important to consider. It is also surprising to note that very little is known to date about the usefulness of applying data mining in transport related research. From the literature, the frameworks for carrying out knowledge discovery and data mining have been revised over the years to meet the business expectations. In this paper, we apply CRISP-DM for formulating effective tire maintenance strategy within the context of a Malaysian's logistics company.
