    Get PDF
This paper attempts to identify factors effecting the relationships between the egovernment services, namely DeG Synergetic Services, and citizens’ satisfaction in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Evaluation of UAE e-government services is very crucial; nevertheless, theory on assessment of e-government is still nascent in terms of development and execution. Previous studies have demonstrated that the objective sought by United Arab Emirates is to achieve utilization of ICT to empower the services to enhance accountability and effectiveness (Alalwany and Alahmari, 2007; Alshawi and Alalwany, 2009). Adoption of e-government initiatives will definitely benefit the government including cost savings and overall citizens’ satisfaction. Hence, analysing the effect of egovernment on citizen’s satisfaction perspective is crucial in justifying investment in egovernment projects. Thus this will help in addressing the e-government mismatched budgetary constraints. This evaluation will furthermore help in uncovering the effectiveness of the current e-government initiatives in the UAE. Hence, the problem researcher deals in this study comprises in assessing relevant factors affecting the citizens’ satisfaction with a variety of e-Government services in the United Arab Emirates, namely DeG synergetic services (DeG). An extensive review of literature has been conducted and a theoretical framework is proposed. This study will be utilizing a quantitative survey design as the basis of analysis

Cryptography is an evolving field that research into discreet mathematical equation that is representable by computer algorithm for providing message condentiality. The scheme has been widely used by nation-states, corporates and individual who seeks privacy for data in storage and during transmission. This paper provides a ground up survey on elliptic curve cryptography. It tailors the mathematics behind elliptic curve to the applicability within a cryptosystem. In brief, elliptic curve is a study of points on two-variable polynomials of degree 3. With curve dened over a finite field, this set of points acted by an addition operation forms a finite group structure. Also known as torsion points, they are used to represent the coded messages. Encryption and decryption transform a point into another point in the same set. Besides providing conceptual understanding, discussions are targeting the issues of security and efficiency of elliptic curve cryptosystem. This paper serve as a basis in guiding anyone interested to understand the fundamental concept behind this cryptosystem. Moreover, we also highlight subareas of research within the scope of elliptic curve cryptosystem

In this paper, a numerical model was developed for direct simulation of droplet spreading behavior on the tablet edge since the coating unifonnity become the most critical problem nowadays in pharmaceutical industry. Owing to that problem, a simulation of droplet spreading behavior on the tablet edge has been developed to study the effect of tablet surface to the droplet spreading behavior. This modeling will be conducted by using integrated software, Computational Fluid Dynamics which is Fluent 14.0. Only water will be used in this modeling over to the different velocity of droplet. As addition, the surface roughness and contact angle also will be varying due to study the behavior of the spreading in certain condition. This project actually is the continuality of the previous laboratory experiment which is the study of the droplet impact behavior on the edge of a tablet to predict the coating variation, conducted by Ku Zilati Ku Shaari and Richard Turton from Department of Chemical Engineering, West Virginia University, Morgantown. The result of the simulation will be compared to this experiment result in order to have the clear understanding of spreading behavior on the tablet edge. As the result, there is not much different of the droplet spreading behavior between geometry I, geometry 2 and geometry 3 due to the very small change in the surface roughness applied to the wall. Theoretically, the smoothest surface will give the largest spreading factor, D;/ Do. Thus, further development and study on the model will be taken for the future work

The investigation and research has been performed, studying the liquid behavior of chemically modified starch as the coating solution on urea surface with a CCD high speed camera. The main aim ofthis study is to analyze the important parameters or factors that will result the maximum spreading diameter of coating solutions on urea surface. There are main several factors that lead to the expected result, which are the effect of droplet impact velocity and the droplet viscosity. Besides, the blending ratio also one of the factors can determine the spreading diameter. Different type of solutions can give the different characteristics, features and the value ofparameters. Since this project dealing with urea as the solid substrate, study on urea surface roughness and porosity is important in order to identify what are the behavior of droplet will lead to the maximum spreading diameter and coating uniformity

Development of Prototype Scheduling and Sequencing Software for Job Shop Manufacturing in Sheet Metal Fabrication

    Get PDF
A software program has been developed to ease the process of scheduling and sequencing number of jobs to certain number of machines for job shop manufacturing in sheet metal fabrication. The program is designed based on the present operation at Technology Park Malaysia (TPM) - Production Engineering using available priority dispatching rules and multiple performance measures. For n by m job shop scheduling problems, where n is the number of jobs and m is the number machines, there are (n!)m possible schedules. In a typical job shop, hundreds of scheduling decisions must be made daily. Scheduling process, which is to organise, maintain, update and reschedule the job, is very tedious work and time consuming. For five jobs passing through one machine, there are 120 time charts just to show all possible sequence patterns. To plot the charts manually is not. a practical solution and ridiculous. Identifying the performance measures to be used in selecting the schedule is important. The schedule should reflect managerially acceptable performance measures. A logical strategy is thus to pursue methods that can consistently generate good schedules with quantifiable quality in a computationally efficient manner

Flood can be defined as an overflow of water from water body normally occurred when the water body can no longer contain the precipitation in the area and the soil can no longer absorb the water. This resulted in overflow and one of the causes of flood. The study area is Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) campus Pekan where it is located in an area where flood occurrences are recorded each year with the main reason is overflow from the Pekan River. The soil condition in the area also poses problem where it is swampy and this type of soil have low porosity and can lead to increase in surface runoff. The objectives of this study is to develop and validate 2-Dimensional hydrological modeling of UMP Pekan drainage system using Infoworks CS and to determine the capabilities of existing drain to sustained runoff at maximum level. Data are obtained from (Jabatan Pembangunan dan Pengurusan Harta) JPPH UMP such as invert level, platform level, and plan view of study area. The study area which is 60 hectares area in total was divided into three zones; Zone A, Zone B and Zone C. In order to analyze the effectiveness of the drains at UMP Pekan, two method of calculation is used which are Rational Method for calculating the surface runoff and Manning Equation for the calculation of drain flowrate. Infoworks CS will be used to simulate the event of 8 hour rainfall with data obtained from MASMA with 2 ART. Water level is obtained after simulation process is completed. Result shows Zone C experienced overflow while Zone A drainage system experienced high water level that almost cause overflow. Only Zone B shows properly design drainage system where water level is in the mid-section of the drain. This result is proven both in manual calculation and software simulation
