Due to the importance of well deliverability maintenance, a committee of specialists from Dominion East Ohio and other service companies meets every year to select the wells to be included in the deliverability maintenance plan. The application tool not only help in selecting the wells for deliverability maintenance plan but goes beyond that by designing the most optimum frac recipe.;The purpose of this study is to develop an engineering tool that will help petroleum engineers making a better decision for selecting well candidate and design well restimulation. The project focuses on a gas storage field and use data such as well location, stimulation time and recipe and deliverability statistics.;This tool reduces the time engineers spend designing optimum treatment schedules by proposing a solution based on virtual intelligence. Neural networks, genetic algorithms and a fuzzy support system are integrated into a software application to achieve the required goals.;The software application is a user-friendly application compiled in a Visual Basic programming language linked to and access database

This report provides an insight of problem identification, related secondary data (literature reviews), the possible approach in completing the project and the result/discussion arguments. The progress of the project are also been projected in this report. It can be referred to the diagrams, testing results and some comparisons that will be later discuss in depth. The proposed method is based on the current situation that every network is experiencing which is the congested problem as a result of some phenomenon that occurs such as the bottleneck problems and ip spoofing. Upon the completion of this project, it is expected to deliver a fair distribution of network bandwidth to the users. It is practically done by controlling the bandwidth usage from a dedicated server and a resource locator so that the abuser can be pin-pointed and the whereabouts can also be determined. A network policy is also being implemented here with the integration of the PHP language, the MySQL as the main data storage and also the GIS application such as the mapserver for the resource locator part. This paper will also focus on the security part and data visualization from the result

The main problems studied in this article is how the creation process of the art of cianjuran music and how far the role of R. A. A. Wiranatakusumah V in spreading the art of cianjuran music in Priangan in the 20th century. To get the answers to those problems, the historical research has been done with the method of research which consists of four phases: heuristik, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The application of historical method is then ellaborated with social science theories, among of those is the theory of change and continuity of K. J. Veeger. The result of the research indicates that the art of cianjuran music was born as a creativity result of Cianjur aristocratics adopting from some vocal arts among Sundanese society such as: poetry, degung, and kawih. In its growth, the art of cianjuran adapts with the change of epoch so that its existence can be kept well. In this case, R. A. A. Wiranatakusumah V had an important role in spreading the art of cianjuran music in Priangan.

Need and Perspectives of Internet-based Interventions for Common Specific language Disorders and Connected Specific Learning Disabilities in Childhood and Youth

AbstractIn the last century medical progress has substantially reduced the morbidity and mortality in somatic diseases. However there is a “new morbidity” with an increase of psychomotor developmental, learning, behavioral and mental disorders often with an initial onset in about 20% of childhood. A social gradient in terms of health inequalities is known. Reducing this new morbidity of child and adolescent health problems is a major public health priority. In this context alternative, complementary strategies for prevention or treatment are needed. At the example of expressive language disorder and consecutive risks in developing a specific reading and writing disability we would like to discuss in this survey potential future preventional perspectives

A note on: an empirical comparison of forgetting models

    Get PDF
In the above paper, Nembhard and Osothsilp (2001) empirically compared several forgetting models against empirical data on production breaks. Among the models compared was the learn–forget curve model (LFCM) developed by Jaber and Bonney(1996). In previous research, several studies have shown that the LFCM is advantageous to some of the models being investigated, however, Nembhard and Osothsilp (2001) found that the LFCM showed the largest deviation from empirical data. In this commentary, we demonstrate that the poor performance of the LFCM in the study of Nembhard and Osothsilp (2001) might be attributed to an error on their part when fitting the LFCM to their empirical data
