Trattamenti di ricottura dell’acciaio inossidabile duplex 2205 dopo deformazione plastica

Le buone caratteristiche meccaniche e le elevate proprietà di resistenza a corrosione spiegano il vasto utilizzodegli inossidabili duplex in ambito chimico, petrolchimico e strutturale i duplex sono, però soggetti aprecipitazione di fasi secondarie, che ne degradano le proprietà, negli intervalli di temperatura 500-1000°C.In questo lavoro si è analizzata l’influenza del trattamento isotermico nell’intervallo 850-900°C sulletrasformazioni di fase per l’acciaio 2205 deformato a freddo.La lega è stata sottoposta a deformazioni a freddo con una riduzione di spessore del 5%, 10%, 15%; in seguitoa trattamenti termici presenta precipitazione di fasi deleterie ? e ?. Si è analizzata l’evoluzione dellaprecipitazione in funzione del grado di deformazione e del tempo di trattamento, mediante microscopia otticaed elettronica. Mediante software d’analisi d’immagine è stata realizzata la quantificazione delle fasiprecipitate. I risultati ottenuti hanno rivelato che il materiale deformato a freddo è molto più sensibile allaprecipitazione di fasi secondarie rispetto al materiale allo stato solubilizzato ed al conseguente infragilimentodopo brevi soste nell’intervallo di temperatura critico per la precipitazione

Bottom-up control of common octopus Octopus vulgaris in the Galician upwelling system, northeast Atlantic Ocean

This paper investigates the possible underlying causes of the wide interannual fluctuations in catch of the common octopus Octopus vulgaris Cuvier, 1797 in one of the main small-scale fisheries off the coast of Galicia (northwest Spain). Galicia is at the northern boundary of the Iberian–Canary current upwelling system in the northeast Atlantic Ocean, where local winds induce seasonal upwelling, largely driving the annual cycles of primary and secondary production. We hypothesize that such dynamics are also fundamental for the survival of the planktonic stages of octopus and set the year class strength. We address this hypothesis by investigating the influence of upwelling on time-series of octopus fishery data. Wind stress structure during the spring–summer (prior to the hatching peak) and autumn–winter (during the planktonic stage) was found to affect the early life phase of this species, and explains up to 85% of the total variance of the year-to-year variability of the adult catch. Despite this bottom-up modulation via environmental conditions, our results also provide evidence for a between-cohort density-dependent interaction, probably caused by cannibalism and competition for habitat.Postprin

Disorder-to-order transition in the magnetic and electronic properties of URh_2Ge_2

We present a study of annealing effects on the physical properties of tetragonal single--crystalline URh_2Ge_2. This system, which in as-grown form was recently established as the first metallic 3D random-bond heavy-fermion spin glass, is transformed by an annealing treatment into a long-range antiferromagnetically (AFM) ordered heavy-fermion compound. The transport properties, which in the as-grown material were dominated by the structural disorder, exhibit in the annealed material signs of typical metallic behavior along the crystallographic a axis. From our study URh_2Ge_2 emerges as exemplary material highlighting the role and relevance of structural disorder for the properties of strongly correlated electron systems. Norovirus outbreak in a natural playground: A One Health approach

Norovirus constitutes the most frequently identified infectious cause of disease outbreaks associated with untreated recreational water. When investigating outbreaks related to surface water, a One Health approach is insightful. Historically, there has been a focus on potential contamination of recreational water by bird droppings and a recent publication demonstrating human noroviruses in bird faeces suggested this should be investigated in future water-related norovirus outbreaks. Here, we describe a One Health approach investigating a norovirus outbreak in a natural playground. On social media, a large amount of waterfowl were reported to defecate near these playground premises leading to speculations about their potential involvement. Surface water, as well as human and bird faecal specimens, was tested for human noroviruses. Norovirus was found to be the most likely cause of the outbreak but there was no evidence for transmission via waterfowl. Cases had become known on social media prior to notification to the public health service underscoring the potential of online media as an early warning system. High-dimensional cytometric analysis of colorectal cancer reveals novel mediators of antitumour immunity

Objective A comprehensive understanding of anticancer immune responses is paramount for the optimal application and development of cancer immunotherapies. We unravelled local and systemic immune profiles in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) by high-dimensional analysis to provide an unbiased characterisation of the immune contexture of CRC.Design Thirty-six immune cell markers were simultaneously assessed at the single-cell level by mass cytometry in 35 CRC tissues, 26 tumour-associated lymph nodes, 17 colorectal healthy mucosa and 19 peripheral blood samples from 31 patients with CRC. Additionally, functional, transcriptional and spatial analyses of tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes were performed by flow cytometry, single-cell RNA-sequencing and multispectral immunofluorescence.Results We discovered that a previously unappreciated innate lymphocyte population (Lin(-)CD7+(C)D127(-)CD56(+)CD45RO(+)) was enriched in CRC tissues and displayed cytotoxic activity. This subset demonstrated a tissue-resident (CD103(+)CD69(+)) phenotype and was most abundant in immunogenic mismatch repair (MMR)-deficient CRCs. Their presence in tumours was correlated with the infiltration of tumour-resident cytotoxic, helper and gamma delta T cells with highly similar activated (HLA-DR(+)CD38(+)PD(-)1(+)) phenotypes. Remarkably, activated gamma delta T cells were almost exclusively found in MMR-deficient cancers. Non-activated counterparts of tumour-resident cytotoxic and gamma delta T cells were present in CRC and healthy mucosa tissues, but not in lymph nodes, with the exception of tumour-positive lymph nodes.Conclusion This work provides a blueprint for the understanding of the heterogeneous and intricate immune landscape of CRC, including the identification of previously unappreciated immune cell subsets. The concomitant presence of tumour-resident innate and adaptive immune cell populations suggests a multitargeted exploitation of their antitumour properties in a therapeutic setting.Surgical oncolog
