Some results on dependent random variables and a connection with the multivariate s-increasing convex order
In this paper some new concepts of dependence are introduced that generalize the concepts of positive and negative association. The new concepts of dependence are linked to the multivariate s-increasing convex order (Denuit and Mesfioui (2010, 2013)). Furthermore, a Kolmogorov-type inequality and a Hajek-Renyi inequality are proven that lead to an asymptotic
result for these new random objects
Ocupación del microhábitat y morfología funcional de cuatro especies de lagartos agámidos simpátridas del desierto de Kyzylkum, en Uzbekistán central
We examined microhabitat occupation and functional morphology of four sympatric agamid lizards(Phrynocephalus helioscopus helioscopus, P. interscapularis, P. mystaceus galli and Trapelus sanguinolentus) at three sites in the arid zone of central Uzbekistan. At two sites located in sand dunes, substrate attributes played a key role in habitat selection by three syntopic species. At a third flat, stony site, P. helioscopus selected habitat non-randomly, tending to occur close to sparse, low vegetation. Syntopic taxa were separated in morphospace, and there was a trend for taxa with proportionally longer limbs to have faster field escape speeds. Field escape distances and predator avoidance tactics differed between species, with two main escape strategies (crypsis or sand-diving following an escape sprint). We caution that broad–scale threatening processes such as over-grazing and salinity may be having a detrimental effect on microhabitat features important to terrestrial reptiles in Uzbekistan.

On the limit distribution of extremes of generalized Oppenheim random variables
This paper investigates the asymptotic behavior of the extremes of a sequence
of generalized Oppenheim random variables. Particularly, we establish
conditions under which some normalized extremes of sequences arising from
Oppenheim expansions belong to the maximum domain of attraction of the Frechet
distribution. Additionally, we identify conditions under which the maxima and
minima of Oppenheim random variables demonstrate some kind of asymptotic
independence. Finally, we prove an Extreme Types theorem for Oppenheim
expansions with unknown dependent structure
Genome Sequence of the Moderately Halophilic Yellow Sea Bacterium Lentibacillus salicampi ATCC BAA-719T
Lentibacillus salicampi SF-20T (=ATCC BAA-719T) was first isolated from a Yellow Sea salt field in Korea in 2002. Here, we report that the L. salicampi ATCC BAA-719T genome sequence has a predicted length of 3,897,716 bp, containing 3,945 total genes and a CRISPR array, with a G+C content of 43.0%
COVID-19 pandemijos poveikis aukštojo mokslo plėtrai
The main research directions of the situation in European higher education and Ukraine such as emergency transition to distance learning and teaching; problems related to internationalization and academic mobility; the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on research; the importance of cooperation with various organizations; strengthening of European higher education at the international level; and consequences of the crisis and prospects for higher education have been defined. The threats and potential emergence of destabilizing natural circumstances for the development of educational systems in a society, in particular higher education, have been described in global, European and national dimensions.Four groups of teachers that have been formed in forced transition to distance education. The groups have included the teachers of the subjects that required a significant amount of practical and laboratory work; teachers who actively used digital technology before the pandemic; teachers familiar with digital technologies; teachers who failed to master new tools for organizing learning, teamwork and expanded use of digital resources. The problems of the lack of professionally developed programs for online learning, insufficient funding, the need for methodological training of teachers to work with students online, which are common to most universities, have been identified.Tyrime apibrėžiamos pagrindinės Europos aukštojo mokslo ir Ukrainos situacijos tyrimų kryptys, pavyzdžiui, skubus perėjimas prie nuotolinio mokymosi ir mokymo; su internacionalizacija ir akademiniu mobilumu susijusios problemos; COVID-19 pandemijos poveikis tyrimams; bendradarbiavimo su įvairiomis organizacijomis svarba; Europos aukštojo mokslo stiprinimas tarptautiniu lygmeniu bei krizės padariniai ir aukštojo mokslo perspektyvos. Pasauliniu, europiniu ir nacionaliniu mastu aprašomos destabilizuojančių gamtinių aplinkybių grėsmės švietimo sistemų, ypač aukštojo mokslo, plėtrai.Tyrime dalyvavo keturios grupės mokytojų, turėjusių priverstinai pereiti prie nuotolinio ugdymo – mokytojai tų dalykų, kurių mokant yra nemažai praktinių ir laboratorinių darbų; mokytojai, kurie prieš pandemiją aktyviai naudojo skaitmenines technologijas; mokytojai, kurie buvo susipažinę su skaitmeninėmis technologijomis; mokytojai, kuriems nepavyko įvaldyti naujų mokymosi organizavimo, komandinio darbo ir išplėsto skaitmeninių išteklių naudojimo priemonių. Tyrimas atskleidė daugumai universitetų būdingas problemas – profesionaliai sukurtų nuotolinio mokymosi programų trūkumas, nepakankamas finansavimas ir dėstytojų metodinio rengimo nuotoliniam darbui su studentais poreikis

Discrete Gronwall inequalities for demimartingales
The aim of this work is to obtain discrete versions of stochastic Gronwall
inequalities involving demimartingale sequences. The results generalize the
respective theorems for martingales provided by Kruse and Scheutzow (2018) and
Hendy et al. (2022). Moreover, we present an application which provides an
upper bound for the a priori estimate of the backward Euler-Maruyama numerical
scheme
